BECK, James `Jim` H., 58, of Brandon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 after a short valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Cherie; his children, Jennifer Sims and husband Ronnie of Brandon; Jamie Beck and wife Amy of Sebastian, Brian Beck and wife Stacey of Brandon and Robert Beck of Brandon; and grandchildren, Taylor and Zachary Sims, Kyndal and Ashley Beck. A native of Chicago, Ill., he has resided in the Tampa area for 20 years coming from Buffalo Grove, Ill. Jim was the owner of Heath Fuel Co., a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, a member of Diamond Hill Men's Association and a parishioner of Bloomingdale Oaks Community Church. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. A Memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bloomingdale Oaks Community Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in his memory.

BURNS, Grace, 86, of Tampa, passed away Friday, November 21, 2002. She died peacefully with his family at her side. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, Norman W. Burns. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Birner; son-in-law, Leon Birner and granddaughter, Julie Birner all of Tampa, Fla.; sister-in-law, Elsa Emmons and companion Lucy Halligan of Sea Brook, New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Georgetown, Mass., the youngest of seven children to the late Elma and Benjamin Jedrey. She lived in Ipswich, Mass. and Raymond, N.H. before retiring to Tampa. She worked for Western Electric Company, North Andover, Mass. She was a member of VFW Post 193 in Ipswich, Mass. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and those that knew her.

CRANOR, Reverend Lawrence Myers (Larry), 56, of Valdosta died Nov. 21, 2002. Formerly of Tampa, he served as pastor of the Bay Ceia Baptist Church in Tampa from 1979-1984. Survivors include his wife, Barbara. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Northside Baptist Church, Valdosta, Ga. The family will receive friends on Saturday 5-8 p.m. at the Family Life Center of Northside Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Valdosta Baptist Church Association, 2912 N. DUGGER, Belinda S., 46, of Tampa, spirit ascended Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002. She was accompanied by her beloved kitties, Sara and Sammy. She is survived by life partner, Bonnie McNatt Bush of Tampa; mother, Margaret Dugger and brother, Marc Dugger, both of Snellville, Ga. Belinda was happiest in life caring for animals. GONZALEZ, Rafaela, age 91, of Tampa passed away Nov. 21, 2002. A native of Lares, Puerto Rico, she has been a resident of Tampa for the past eight years. Mrs. Gonzalez was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her brother, Manuel Tellado; nieces, Luz Quiles and Augustina Loarte.

HUMBER, Mary Russell, 77, of N.C and formerly of Homossassa, Fla. died Nov. 15, 2002. Survived by two daughters; two sons; three siblings; and seven grandchildren.

JENKINS, John H., 82, passed away November 21, 2002 in Tampa. Born in Jacksonville, N.C., he moved to this area in 1945. He was a Baptist, a Navy veteran and owned a dairy equipment service. He is survived by his son, John M. Jenkins; daughters, Robin Humphrey, Deborah Smith and Stephanie Gray; brother, James Jenkins; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be November 25, 2002 from 5 until 7 p.m. with services on November 26, 2002 at 10 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. Interment in Florida National Cemetery.

LESPIER COLON, Fernando, age 82 of Tampa, passed away November 21, 2002. A native of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, he has been a resident of Tampa for the past seven months. Mr. Lespier Colon is survived by his wife, Hipolita Lespier; daughters, Maria Mendoza and Aida Torres; sons, Raymond and George Lespier; brother, Salvador Lespier; sister, Hilda Morales; 24 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

NELSON, Robert A., 68, of Ft Myers, died Nov. 20, 2002. Born Oct. 26, 1934 in Hallock Minn., he moved, with his family to Tampa in 1978. Relocated to Ft. Myers in 1998, he worked as an X-ray technician, and was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the US Naval Reserve. Survivors include his wife of five years, Teresa; daughters, Maria Plourde, Doreen, Susan Kirsch, Katrina Whitehouse; sons Robert II, and Eric; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; former wife Dorothy. Services will be at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery.

POWELL, David Lee, 47, of Sun City Center, entered in rest on November 20, 2002. He was a Baptist, a Truck Driver, a big fan of Football and NASCAR Racing and a loving husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Christina Anderson and Olivia Jeffrey; brothers, James E. and wife, Marcia of Williamsburg, Ind., Richard, Kenneth, and Clifford and wife, Teresa, all of Richmond, Ind.; sister, Patricia Minderman and husband, Jim of Richmond, Ind.; father and mother-in-law, William and Betty Wiggins; brother-in-law, Roger Wiggins and wife, Sandra; sisters-in-law, Deb Walkington and companion, Marilyn Baird and Sherry Wiggins; six nephews; six nieces; and three great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alice Powell; and brother, Ricky Powell. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2002 from 2-4 p.m., with services to follow Monday at 2 p.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. PRICE, Clifton, A., Sr. 84, went to be with the Lord November 20, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jacqueline; son, Cliff Price, Jr. and his wife, Susan; daughters, Tanna Garboski and her husband, Gary and Yvonne Pruitt and her husband, Gary; grandchildren, Debbye Hintze and her husband, Russell, Cindy Carr and her husband, Steve, Jaylyn and Christian Pruitt and Belle, Colin, and Hanna Garboski; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Whitney, and Riley Hintze and Drew and Shelby Carr; sisters, Reba Fisher and her husband, Clyde, Mabel Robinson, Jeanette Vaughan and her husband, Kenneth, all of Miss. and Lovie Fomby and her husband, Robert of La.; brothers, Percy Price and his wife, Catherine and Pete Price and his wife, Marie of Miss.; sister-in-law, Diana Rudolph and her husband, Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Price was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran and a graduate from the University of Florida. He retired as a comptroller of Winn-Dixie Stores, Tampa division, after 35 years of service. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sims of Temple, Ga.; and sister, Llewellyn Thomas of Columbiana, Ala. Mr. Sims was a retired Army veteran and served in Vietnam. AITKEN, Ivan J., 87, of New Port Richey, passed away November 17, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Born April 10, 1915, he came here 24 years ago from his native Chicago, Ill. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church where he was an usher for 14 years. He was retired from Prudential Life Insurance Company and had worked for 10 years at Belk Lindsey in the men's department. Survivors include three sons, John of New Port Richey, Thomas of Barrington, Ill. and William of Boston, Mass.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was born in Guilderland Center, New York and was a winter resident of Port Richey since 2000. He was the retired owner of Houghtaling Printing and Rubber Stamp Company in Albany, N.Y. after 25 years of service. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Protestant and a member of Melvin Rhoads American Legion Post #1231 in East Greenbush, N.Y. Survivors include wife, Elise `Sue` Bins of Port Richey; son, Mark D. Bins of Rensselaer, N.Y.; daughters, Kim S. Bins of Biloxi, Miss. and Deborah L. Mead of East Greenbush, N.Y.; sister, Marilyn L. Myers of Port Richey; and four grandchildren.

A native of Bessemer, Alabama, he had been a longtime resident of Tampa. He was a retired air conditioning technician for the University of South Florida. He was a member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church in Tampa and a member of the A.W. Windhorst Lodge No. 185 F.&A.M. He served in the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Beckum Cox; three sons, George Bryant Cox, Jr. of Tampa, Michael Alan Cox and Jonathan Lee Cox, both of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; two brothers, Gerald Cox of Atlanta, Ga. and Edward Cox of Austin, Texas ; two sisters, Melba Forbes of Plant City and Doris Maynard of Tampa; and five grandchildren, Michelle, Stephen, Briana, Robbie and Mikayla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Cox and a sister, Jane Larned. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday (today) at the funeral home.
