PAPPALARDO, Antonetta, 101, of Tampa, passed away Nov. 27, 2002. She was loved and will be missed by all on Bay Court. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Mariner Health Care and Lifepath Hospice Silver Team for the compassionate care that was given to Antonetta.

REYES, Maria Elias, age 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Tampa, passed away Nov. 27, 2002. She is a native of Santa Tecla, El Salvador. Mrs. Reyes is survived by her daughters, Estela Serrano and husband, and Emma and husband Miguel Chesnet; sons, Raul Elias-Reyes and wife Sonia, and Orlando Elias-Reyes and wife Sandra; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

STEINECKE, Edward R., 70, of Plant City, died November 27, 2002. Survived by his loving family. Visitation will be Nov. 29 from 5-8 p.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Chapel. Services will be in New York.

STROMAN, John, of Tampa, passed away Nov. 25, 2002. He is survived by wife, Ena; seven daughters; two sons; three sisters; and one brother. Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday at Morning Glori Funeral Chapel.

WALLS, Jr. Brooks, 55, of Land O' Lakes passed away Nov. 25, 2002 in Tampa. Survived by his wife, Terry Walls of Land O' Lakes; a son, Steven Walls of Dover, Pa.; a daughter, Paula Hasenei of Lilburn, Ga.; a brother, Vern Walls of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren, Amber, Jeremy, Kristy, Anthony, Dylan, Alex, Kimber and Belle. Born May 23, 1947 in Baltimore, Md., he was a Veteran of the Army serving in Vietnam. He worked as a service manager for a commercial fire alarm company, and he came to the Land O' Lakes area five years ago from Baltimore, Md. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

ZAYAS, Jesus V., Sr., passed away November 28, 2002 in Tampa while under the care of LifePath Hospice. Survivors include his sons, Jesus V. Zayas, Jr. and Reverend Angel Zayas; brother, Salvador Zayas; grandchildren, Robert Zayas, Very Reverend Father Simon Zayas, Gabriel Zayas, Richard Zayas, Raoul Zayas and Angela Lopez; and nine great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or contributions to LifePath Hospice would be appreciated. Active pallbearers include Robert, Richard, Gabriel, Raoul and Salvador Zayas and Evaristo Blazquez. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave.

BOAN, Dan, 63, of Zephyrhills passed away November 29, 2002 in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife, Linda Boan of Zephyrhills; a son, Joshua Boan of Tallahassee; a brother, Joe Boan of Zephyrhills; a sister, Ernestine DeLorenzo of Tampa; four nieces, Sara Ciccarello, Brenda Boan and Debbie Boan, all of Tampa, and Amy Burkam of Zephyrhills; a nephew, Seth Nicely of Zephyrhills; and great-nephew, Peter Ciccarello of Tampa. A brother, Frank Boan, predeceased him. Services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at the First Church of God in Plant City, with Rev. Ed Koch officiating. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday December 2, 2002 at the Whitfield Funeral Home. He was born October 27, 1934 in Tampa, Florida. Dan was a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He came to the Zephyrhills area in the early 1960's, and he was the owner of the Plaza Beauty Salon for 30 years. He also enjoyed singing and all kinds of music, especially classical. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music department of the First Church of God in Plant City.

CASTELLANOS, Aleida, 81, died November 27, 2002. She is survived by son, Albert; two daughters, Elsa and Vilma Castellanos, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.

COLLINS, Laura Crowder, 89, of Ruskin passed away November 29, 2002. She was a retired farm worker, and a Baptist. Her parents, George and Sara Crowder; her husband, Walter Collins; a son, Vernie Ray Collins; brothers, J.C. and Paul Craig; and a sister, Vivian Marie Crowder, preceded her in death. She is survived by three brothers, Charles, James and Calvin Crowder; two sisters, Lealen Burton and Zena Deal; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. Dec. 3, from the Chapel of Levers Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening, 6 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

CORTES, Pablo, SR., age 70, of Brandon passed away November 27, 2002. He was born in Madrid, Spain on January 15, 1932. Mr. Cortes was an attorney in Havana, Cuba, a master mason and retired from Kash & Karry. He is survived by his wife, Raquel Gutierrez Cortes; son, Pablo Cortes, Jr. and wife, Maria D.; daughters, Maria V. Diaz and husband, Tomas, and Raquel I. Ruiz and husband, Javier, Sr.; grandchildren, Javier Ruiz, Jr., and Pablo Cortes, III; and niece, Raquel Lopez Cortes.

COWDEN, Carl J. Sr.,74 of Tampa left this earth for his journey with the Lord November 29, 2002 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lima, Ohio and moved to Tampa from Findlay, Ohio in 1990. He is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Jean Harbert Cowden; sons, Larry and wife Debra, James, Carlen and Joyce, Carl J. Cowden Jr. and wife Dee; daughter, Vickie Cowden; stepmother, Francine Cowden; brothers, Ronald and wife Allie Cowden, Gary Cowden and wife Elaine; sisters, Nancy Smith and husband Al, Janet Gobel; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn J. Cowden; and granddaughter, RaShae Cowden. He was a retired Milwrigth from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at Faith Outreach Church on Sheldon Road, Tampa, with the visitation Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.

FIKE, Helen Virginia, 83, of Brandon passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Playford Fike; two sons, Jimmy A. Fike and his wife Marilyn of Brandon, Fla., and Raymond Fike of Liberty Boro, Penn.; a daughter, Carol Ann and her husband Bob Shawl of Elizabeth, Pa.; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A native of Salem, W.Va., she moved to the area in 1986 coming from Port Vue, Pa. She was of the Methodist faith. Funeral services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 2, 2002. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

FORREST, Sharon Reynolds, of Gallatin, Tenn., passed away Nov. 29, 2002. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., Dec. 9, 1947, she is survived by her husband, Otis; seven children and nine grandchildren.

GARDNER, Donna R., 68, of Plant City passed away November 29, 2002. A loving family survives her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

HAFFEY, J.C., of Temple Terrace, passed away November 13, 2002. Mr. Haffey was an active member of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. HALL, Thelma, 93, of Plant City, passed away November 29, 2002. Her husband, Reverend Olin W. Hall; and a granddaughter, Jan Hall Carter, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hall is survived by four sons, Elvin Hall, Clinton Hall, Delson `Dale` Hall and Ronnie Hall; three daughters, Marilyn Long, Wilna Harmon and Alta Edgemon; one brother, Guy Bostick; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 10 a.m. in Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Elvin Hall and Dr. Hugh Long officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church.

HODGE, Thomas L., 76, of Tampa, Florida passed away on November 28, 2002. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his daughter, Thelma Alice Ackerman; and is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Rosemary; son, Gordon Hodge; daughter, Rosa Marie Zeiner and her husband Donald; stepsons, Phillip and Joseph Puleo; sister, Margie Chick and her husband Bill; and six grandchildren. Mr. Hodge served in the Navy during World War II and retired from TECO after 33 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2002, 2 p.m. at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Home, Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa. The interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

LOPEZ, Angelina, 94 of Tampa, passed away November 28, 2002 in Tampa. Survivors include her sister, Inez Rodriguez; five nephews and one niece. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2002 at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

MacKAY, Neil S., 92, of Tampa, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002. He is survived by his close friend, Mabel Britt of Tampa; two sisters and several nieces and nephews. Mr. MacKay was a member of the B.P.O. Elks and the American Legion. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum.

OCAMPO, Dalmacio, U.S. Army (Ret.), 85, of Dover, passed away on November 28, 2002. He was born in the Philippines and resided in Tampa for 40 years. He was a 21 year veteran of the US Army and served in World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Teresita; loving daughter, Alice; son-in-law, Philip; two sisters, Avelina Manalo, and Winefreda Garcia, both of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He is of the Catholic faith and was a wonderful husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Many thanks to the entire VA Hospital staff for their compassion and care and the Fathers and Sisters of the VA Catholic ministry. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, 11 a.m., at St. Clement Catholic Church, N. Alexander St. Plant City. Family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Stowers Brandon Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
