Richard Earle Langford, 42, of Marianna died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Richard Earle Langford, 42, of Marianna died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Lewis Langford and Jonathan Earl "JoJo" Langford; one brother, Thomas Anthony Baker; and stepfather, Neil Baker "PAPA."
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Skipper Langford of Marianna; his mother, Janice Baxley Baker of Alford; his father, William Carlton Langford of Belle; five sons, Bobby Allen Langford and Ryan Anthony Langford, both of Alford, and Terry William Adkins, Norris Carl Adkins, and Richard Earle Langford of Marianna; five daughters, Tiffany Marie Gunnels, Helen Norren Skipper, Sabrina Marie Langford, Tara Nicole Skipper, Lacy Cheyenne Skipper, all of Marianna; three brothers, Jeffery Wayne Langford and his wife, Betty, of Marianna, Terry Joe Langford and his wife, Angie, of Bonifay, and Kenneth N. Baker and his wife, Judy, of Alford; three sisters, Janie Carol Dillon and her husband, Barry, of Asheville, N.C., Barbara A. McGinty of Bainbridge, Ga. and Martha Nelson of Ft. White; and a special aunt and uncle, Gene and Wanda Schrecengost.

Douglas Allen Phillips, 51, a resident of Marianna, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, following a sudden illness.
He is survived by his father, Donald A. Phillips, of Marianna.

Helen Rebecca Hansford Smith, 52, of Marianna died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was of the Mormon faith.
She is survived by one son, Robert S. (Rob) Smith, of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Esa M. Smith and Madelaine Bishop and her husband, James, of Marianna; loving companion, Jack R. Brannon, of Marianna; two brothers, George Hansford and James Richard Hansford of Marianna; one sister, Debra Ann Baxley, of Marianna; her mother, Ada Lockey and her husband, Bob, of Marianna; maternal grandmother, Lurine Nesmith, of Marianna; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Gause officiating. The family will receive friends today, Thursday, April 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home. Memorialization by cremation will follow. Lord Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Franklin W. Fiebelkorn, 85, of Marianna died Sunday, April 27, 2003, in the Nursing Pavilion. He was born in Burr Oak, Mich. and was a resident of Burlington, Mich. for 53 years. He was an active member of the Burlington Seventh-day Adventist Church. He retired from Battle Creek school system where he was a heating and building engineer for Battle Creek High School, W.K. Kellogg Jr. High, and the Willard Library.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Martha Fiebelkorn, two brothers, Delbert and Floyd , and a sister Lucille.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Winona Fiebelkorn of Marianna and Burlington, Mich. One son David Fiebelkorn and wife Germae of Bay Village, Ohio; a daughter Frances Stone and husband Isaac of Marianna; two brothers, Sam Fiebelkorn and his wife Pauline of Sturgis, Mich., Lawrence Fiebelkorn and his wife Lola of Sturgis, Mich.; a sister Keitha Post and her husband Edson, of Arbogast Road, Union City, Mich.; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. (CDT) at Lord Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Woods officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation with burial in Burlington, Mich.
George W. Carter, Sr., 89, of Cottondale died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Jackson County on January 30, 1914 to the late Ellis and Nancy Miles Carter. He was a farmer and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, George W. "Buddy" Carter, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Mae Carter of Cottondale; two daughters, Opal Phillips and husband R.E. "Buck" of Cottondale; Catherine Land and husband Gene of Reidsville, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Gayvon Carter of Cottondale; five grandsons, Gregory Alan Land and wife Cecilia of Dothan, Ala.; Roger Lynn Land and wife Connie of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Lance Lionel Land and wife Jennifer of Charlotte, N.C.; Jeffrey Dean Carter of Cottondale; William Benson and wife Melanie of Ooltewah, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Land, Christopher Land, Olivia Land, Brandon Land, Sarah Land, Justin Land and Madeline Benson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with the Revs. Walter Collins and Lester Sandy officiating. William O. Roberts, 80, of Marianna died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Jackson Hospital.
He was born in Marianna, a farmer and a member of the Midway Free Will Baptist Church near Cypress.
He was preceded in death by his son James Ralph Roberts, a brother, Samuel A. Roberts, and a daughter-in-law Lorrie Roberts.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Roberts of Marianna; one daughter, Martha Tharp and husband Dennis of Adamsville, Tenn.; one brother, John T. Roberts and wife Ellen of Grand Ridge; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Allen, Timothy, Ricky, Aaron, Heather, and Spring Roberts, Allison Oliver and Derek Tharp and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30 at 10 a.m. CDT at Maddox Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Ferrell, Jerry Mears and Wallace Godwin officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Cemetery

Douglas Gene Schultz, 42, of Greenwood, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Jackson Hospital.
He was a native of Hartford City, Indiana
, and had lived in Greenwood for the past 11 years. He served in the U.S. Marines, he was a machine programmer and of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Schultz of Greenwood; one son, Douglas Gene Schultz Jr., of Denver, Colorado; one step-son, James (Jimmy) Heiter of Greenwood; two daughters, Lenora Schultz of Greenwood and Kristal Schultz of Clearwater; his parents, Estel and Ellen Schultz of Holiday; two brothers, Fred Schultz of Springhill, and Paul Schultz of St. Augustine; three sisters, Sharon Schultz of Muncie, Ind., Shirley Hunt of Hudson, Debra Walker of Hartford City, Ind.; a very special niece, Rosa Henderson of Indianapolis, Ind.; a very special nephew, Bud Henderson of Muncie, Ind.; and several other nieces and nephews.

William "Bill" Stob, 74, of Graceville, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Stob, affectionately known as "Chief," was born in Foreston, Minnesota on February 6, 1929, moving to Graceville in 1975. He retired in 1974 as a MSGT with the United States Air Force following 26 years of service, serving in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1995 as Fire Chief with the city of Graceville following 20 years of service. He coached Little League for a number of years and attended Graceville Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Rodney Hightower; three brothers, Cornelius Stob, Albert Stob, and John Stob.
He is survived by his loving wife, Inez Avery Stob of Graceville; two daughters, Glenda S. Jenkins and husband Richard of Cottondale; Betty Ruth Stob of Kynesville; brothers Ted Stob of CA., Tunis Stob of MN; sisters Alice Anderson and Dena Orton of MN; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 29, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kynesville with the Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville is directing. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing may make memorials in his memory to the Graceville Fire Department or Graceville Little League Association.
Alberta Blanton Stewart, 74, of Perry, died Sunday, April 27, 2003 in Tallahassee.
She was a native of Taylor County, living in Gainesville for a period of time until returning to Perry in April of 1991. She was a cashier in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital cafeteria, and was a member of New Home Baptist Church in Perry.
She is survived by Harold "Cheese" Stewart of Perry; two sisters, Rochelle Flowers and Edna Oliver, both of Ocala; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at New Home Baptist Church in Perry with Bro. Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will be Thursday, May 1, at 2 p.m. central time, in Riverside City Cemetery

Ralph W. Nordan, 97, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2003.
He was born on April 6, 1906, to Annie G. and Curtis W. Nordan in Headland, Alabama. He moved to Grangerburg as a young boy, he was a graduate of Malone High School, and he studied education at the University of Florida and Florida State University. He was principal of Union School near Graceville in 1929. He worked with Liberty National Insurance Company for almost 15 years, beginning in the mid-1930s. He and his wife founded Friendly Flower Shop in 1949, which later became Faye's Flower Shop. He enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.
He was ordained a deacon at Friendship Baptist Church in Malone. He later served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Marianna and Malone for many years. In 1997, he was honored as Deacon Emeritus at Malone First Baptist Church, where he was a member. He was a devoted Christian, husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Annis R. Nordan, on December 25, 2000.
Survivors include his daughter Faye Nordan Stoutamire; a granddaughter Kathryn S. Jordan and husband Scott; one great-grandson, Hampton Jordan, all of Marianna; one grandson, Kenneth Nordan Stoutamire and his wife Allison of Malone; and one sister, Elizabeth Williams of St. Augustine.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 30, at Malone First Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy Woverton, John Boss and Donnie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 29, at Maddox Chapel.
Burton Edward Shores, 79, of Winter Haven died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in Winter Haven Hospital of heart failure.
He was born October 11, 1923 in Cottondale. A native of Cottondale, he was a 51 year resident of Winter Haven. He was formerly a plant manager for Growers Fertilizer in Lake Alfred. He retired from Orange Company as vice president of operations at age 65. He was an active leader in the Florida citrus industry. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught three year-old Sunday school for many years. He was also a team member on mission trips to Brazil.
He was a veteran of World War II 8th Air Force, a member of the Kiwanis Club, an avid tennis player, a resident of Swiss Golf and Tennis and volunteered with association of retarded children. He was very involved in his children's lives and was president of the Brigham P.T.A. and the Winter Haven High School and band boosters. He loved to grow roses and took great joy in helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Cathie Welch Shores of Winter Haven; three daughters, Sandy S. McPhail of Winter Haven, Linda S. Miller of Spring City, Tenn. and Mellonee S. Hedrick of Marietta, Ga.; three sons, Robert Shores of Lakeland, Mike L. Shores of Lakeland and Bill Shores of Roseville, Calif.; one brother, Leonard M. Shores (Inez) of Marianna; two sisters, Sherry Horne of Bradenton and Carol Carroll of Bradenton; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven with Rev. Farrell Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held following the memorial service in the social hall of Calvary Baptist Church. A memorial service will also be held Monday, May 5, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cottondale. Burial will be in Cottondale.

Mertis D. Branch, 88, of Marianna died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a licensed practical nurse at Jackson Hospital and at Sunland where she later retired. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Grand Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Aubrey Branch.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Strickland and his wife, Laura, of Hampton, Va.; one brother, William Wesley Dykes of Valley, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Lee Stevens of Hobbs, N.M. and Etta Mae Stone of Camden, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Elaine Thoden, Teresa Buchanan and Debra Tracy; six great-grandchildren, Lyzette Stiles, Ian Morales, Nikolaus, Celia and Gabrielle Thoden and Holden Tracy.

Nettie B. Baxter, 83, of Malone died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, following an extended illness.
She was a native of Geneva County, Ala., moving to Malone many years ago. She was a member of the Pentecostal faith. She was a homemaker and a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Earl Baxter; two sisters, Bessie Penny and Willie Elmore; and one granddaughter, Shelia Dias.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Earl Baxter and his wife, Joyce, of Malone and Roger Kenneth Baxter and his wife, Nell, of Ft. Myers; two daughters, Ann and her husband, Gwen Damron of Malone and Judy and her husband, Ray Stool of Gulf Hammock; one sister, Pearlie McIntosh of Starke; seven grandchildren, Clark Damron, Jennifer Dilliard, Joy Young, Andrea Dinkel, Kay Baxter, Amy Garcia and Kevin Baxter; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church near Malone with Pastor Van Clack officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Lord Funeral Home directing.
