Grace V. Beck (Mrs. Michael Beck) passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004. Grace entered the real estate business in Cape Coral in 1969. Though the City of Cape Coral has experienced many changes, she remained with the same real estate broker, RAy Hoxsey with Century 21 AAIM Realty Group. Grace always said she loved working with people doing what she could to help them. 'I can find something nice about everyone I meet.' Grace worked for Children's Services in Cleveland, OH for 25 years as office secretary. Grace's duties included helping unwed mothers and placing the children in good adoptive homes or foster homes.
Grace moved to Cape Coral with her husband Mike Beck in 1964 from Euclid, OH where she taught shorthand for many years. She continued to teach shorthand until 1969. A growing interest in Cape Coral's real estate market compelled her to obtain a real estate license. Her first job was with working with Ray Hoxsey and others. Grace also worked 3 years for Gulf American Land Corporation and then went back to work for Hoxsey who by that time was in the Century 21 franchise. Grace attributes much of her success to the contracts she and Mike made during the early years. She and her husband, Mike were charter members of the Cape Coral Italian American Club. Mike was the club's first treasurer and Grace was the first secretary, both were active in the club for many years. They were both faithful members of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Grace loved to golf and belonged to the Executive Golf Club in Cape Coral.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Marilyn G. Young (Charles) Marilyn Peterson (Gary) all from Cleveland, OH, 4 nephews, John J. Comella (Marion) also of Cleveland, Anthony Comella (Bonnie) of Texas , Dr. Phillip Piro (Dr. Nancy) of California, and James J. Piro (Linda) of Sarasota, FL; 15 great-nieces and nephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband Michael, sister, Betty M. Comella (John) and brother Sebastian J. Piro (Grace M.).
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, entombment will follow. Family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2-6 PM at the Metz Funeral Chapel, 1306 Lafayette St.

Michael Kittle, 43, of Cape Coral died Tuesday March 30, 2004 at the Cape Coral Hospital. He was born May 22, 1960 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana
. He graduated from Bentley College in Massachusetts in 1982. Michael moved to Cape Coral in 1982. He worked locally in the banking business and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Survivors include his mother Peggy Kittle of Cape Coral, eight brothers and sisters: Kathleen Conway, Cape Coral, Patricia (William) Ritzmann, Lawrenceburg, IN, Jan Hunt, Cape Coral, Thomas S. (Pam) Kittle, Arlington, VA, Margaret Balzotti, Deerfield, MA, Susan (Gary) Cape Coral, John I. (Mary) Kittle, Virginia Beach, VA and Sarah (Neal) Schoenle, Yardley, PA and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Earl S. Kittle in 1969.

A memorial Mass will be held for Melissa A. Look, beloved wife, joyful mother of five and true friend, at 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral.
Melissa, who was 37, died March 29 after an inspiring 21-month standoff with breast cancer. She was born May 16, 1966 in Fort Myers.
Her life was dedicated to her family - her husband, soul mate and best friend, Peter J. Look, and their children, Brittney, Peter, Sydney, Hailey and Madysen, who range in age from 17 to 3. They considered Melissa to be the best Mom and spouse God sent to earth.
Melissa's enthusiasm for life and her strong faith in God never faltered even as her cancer spread. She studied medical and holistic treatment options to valiantly improve her health. She extended the time she had with her family long beyond what doctors believed was possible.
Even as she accepted the will of God, her thirst for understanding led her to amazing new experiences, from sitting with Native American Indians under the stars in Arizona to looking deeply into herself at religious retreats. She never stopped broadening her life experiences. Her physical stamina surprised and pleased her family and friends until the last three weeks of her life.
She spent her final days in peaceful farewell to family and friends. Her final earthly act was hugging her children.
Melissa remained at home and became an angel while surrounded by her husband, her mother, Helen Brittenham, and her brother, William Brittenham, both of Fort Myers. Her final breaths were released at dawn as she listened to the song 'Somewhere in Time' from her wedding video.
Melissa is also survived by her mother-in-law, Geri Look, father-in-law John Look, and Pete's siblings, Michael Look and Rebecca Look, all of Cape Coral, and Wendy Look of New Jersey.
Faith and love carried this family and their friends through the final triumphs of Melissa's life.
Melissa and her family would like to thank their closest friends for their endless help: John and Mary Rose Linden, Margo and Norm Teegardin, Mark and Patty Holmes, Judy King, Pat Joyce, Pat Carey, Bonnie Head, Connie Lummis, Karen Strang, Lee Riley, Kathy Paperalleo, Peg Horan, the St. Andrew Church family and Father Arnold.
Pete would like all those who loved Melissa to know, 'We may not understand why things happen, but God has a reason for everything. Glory be to God forever.'
The Looks were long-time residents of Cape Coral and members of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Melissa invested many volunteer hours with her children at St. Andrew School. She also enjoyed social outings with other families from the school.

Duncan Archibald McFarlane, 86, of Lehigh Acres passed away March 30, 2004. He was born in Nigeria, West Africa and grew up in Jamaica. He came to the United States in 1947 and worked for the postal service until he retired and moved to Lehigh Acres in the seventies.
He is survived by his wife Doris, and cousins, Basil, Carmen, Mavis, Carlton, Alma, Marvelyn and others. He was preceded in death by his sister Doris and parents Duncan and Imogene.

Hugh T. Weber passed away at Hospice of Shell Point Village September 29, 2003, in the care of his wife, Anna and Hope Hospice South. Hugh was born March 18,1919 in Indianapolis, Indiana
, to Elmer T. and Mabel (McBride) Weber, he was a graduate of Indianapolis Arsenal Technical School in 1937, and served in WWII as a medical supply Master Sergeant in Sicily and North Africa, after the war Hugh was employed with several produce operations including Potato Company, until his retirement in 1981.
Mr. Weber is survived by his wife of 19 years Anna Klein Crull Weber, his three children Hugh M. Weber of Evanston, IL, Patricia Ann (Richard) Price of Indianapolis, Indiana
, David (Betty) Weber of Indianapolis, four grandchildren, three step children, four step grandchildren, a brother Frank (Norma) Weber of Indianapolis, Indiana
. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret A. (Casserly) Weber, his two brothers Jack and Joe.
Hugh was an avid fisherman and golfer and belonged to the Seven Lakes Community Fisherman's Club, a member of the Seven Lakes Men's 18 hole Golf Association. Hugh was aptly thought of by all his friends and family as 'Mr. Nice Guy.'

James Anthony Dalessandro left this life on Sunday June 6, 2004 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral after a six year struggle with Stage IV Colon Cancer. He entered this life on November 9, 1937 to Nicholas Dalessandro and Florence Margaret Peltier in Detroit, MI. He attended St. David's and Southeastern on the eastside. His career was with computers. There was great joy in pop music of the 40's and 50's and the University of Michigan football games at home and away. Cruising and resorting in the Carribean many times was a great adventure for him.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Theresa, his children, Mark, Marie and Michael (Amy) Dalessandro, his step-daughter Kathy Firestone, his four grandchildren, his four grandchildren, his brothers Eugene (Delia) and Jerry (Dorothy), his aunt Edith (Pete) Evangelista, his uncle Michael (Theresa) Dalessandro, his aunt Dorothy Peltier, his aunt Irene Peltier and many cousins.

Roscoe 'Rod' Mehaffie, 88, of N. Ft. Myers, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2004. Roscoe was born October 7, 1915 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Mildred (Hopewood) Mehaffie. On August 2, 1941, Roscoe married Gretta Truman in Springfield, Ohio. His wife preceded him in death on January 9, 1981.
Roscoe served our country with the U.S. Army during World War II in India and Burma. Before retiring, he worked as a Supervisor for Howard Sober, Inc. and a manager for Kenosha Auto Transport. Roscoe moved from New Haven, Indiana
to N. Ft. Myers in 1985. He enjoyed golfing, photography, gardening and reading.

Mr. David Porter Nash of Lakeland died of cancer Wednesday, March 24, 2004. He was 52. Born January 27, 1952, in Norfolk, VA, he came to Lakeland from Naples six years ago. He was an instrument technician for IMC-Agrico. He was a Christian.

Ralph I. Newcomer, 86, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1917 in Chambersburg, PA and moved to Fort Myers from Carrollton, GA in 1988. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired in 1972 as the Deputy Finance Officer of Olmstead Air Force Base. While in Pennsylvania , he was a member of the West Shore Masonic Lodge, F. & A. M. in Camp Hill.
Mr. Newcomer is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia E. Newcomer; daughter, Trudi Hursen of Fort Myers; granddaughter, Pamela Hall of Atlanta, GA and two great-grandchildren, Austin Hall and Makenna Hall, both of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow, Harry and Robert Newcomer.
