CAMPBELL, Helen A., 77, of Zephyrhills went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2003. She will be dearly missed by her loving family. She is survived by her four children, Susie McCullough (Jim), Barbara Clark (Sonny), Janice Boles (Brad), Harmon Campbell (Christine); one brother, Lance Griswald; twelve grandchildren, Terry Kitchen (April), Richard Carter (Stacie), Theda Coleman (Timmy), Sean Kitchen (Holly Lamaster), Steven Boles, Jaclyn Boles, Preston Campbell, Nicolas Campbell, Michael Clark (Mandy), Katrina McCabe, Michael McCullough, Veronica Kruchten (Jed); fifteen great-grandchildren, Cory Hardiman, Katelyn Kitchen, LeeAnn Kitchen, Nash Farque, Tate Kitchen, TJ Lamoreaux, Colton Lamoreaux, Heather Carter, Brittani Coleman, Morgan McCabe, Marshall McCabe, Cory Clark, Sierra Keech, Rebecca Clark, Garrett Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hernando- Pasco Hospice, Inc., 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667.

CARRIER, Lyla May, 89, passed away March 17, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Carrier, and is survived by her son, Charles Carrier; daughter, Patricia Williams, of North Carolina; and several grandchildren. She was a member of the Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.

COLE, Alphon, 77, of Lakeland, died Mar. 17, 2003. Survived by his wife Gladis Cole; one son, one daughter, three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.

COURSON, Kay Frances Kromer, 71, of Thonotosassa passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2003. She is preceded in death by her sister, Florence Rhodes and brother, Charles Kromer; and is survived by daughters, Sharon Morales of Thonotosassa, and Natalie Govich of Land O'Lakes; one son, Malcolm Courson of Apopka; brothers, Karl Kromer of Tampa and Floyd Kromer of Thonotosassa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Courson was well known for her days at the Hoggie Hut and Royal castle on Hillsborough Ave where she was manager for years. She was inspirational in the building of Antioch Park and you could always find her in the concession stand. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Seffner that she loved so much. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Noon at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. FORTE Sr., Wilburn S.,, 66, of Brooksville, died Mar. 17, 2003. He is survived by wife, Leah; sons, James, Wilburn Jr., and William; daughter, Marie Pittman; and one sister.

FRENCH, Mary, 82, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away March 20, 2003, after a long illness. Survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Hanington, Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Katherine, Kristine, Kimberly and James, New York; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Laura and Matthew. Mary was born in Los Angeles, Calif. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family. Memorial services will be held Friday evening, March 21, 7:30-9 p.m. with Mass following on Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Tampa. Burial at All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach, Calif. In Mary's memory, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association or LifePath Hospice.

GAVENTA, Betty Anne died at her home, early morning on March 17, 2003 with her husband of 57 years by her side, Mrs. Gaventa was unfailing in her support of family, friends and causes in which she believed. Betty Anne was born August 26, 1924 to Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Smith in Tampa, Fla. Betty Anne received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Tampa. She taught elementary school in Deland, Temple Terrace, Tallahassee, Fla. and Lake Charles. Upon retirement Betty Anne continued to share her kindness and wisdom as a volunteer for the Lake Charles Public Library, Crisis Center, Mentor Program and the Children Museum of Lake Charles. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Harry Reymer Gaventa of Lake Charles, two daughters Deborah Anne Gaventa Brown and Suzanne Gaventa Folger, five Grandchildren all of Atlanta, Ga., one sister Mary Alice Smith Braukman, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and four nieces and three nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Church will officiate. The body will be cremated, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Betty Anne Gaventa Memorial Fund at the Children's Museum of Lake Charles, 925 Enterprise Blvd., Lake Charles, LA 70601.

GOERKE, Gerhard T., 80, of Brandon passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2003. Gerhard moved to the area three years ago from New Jersey and was Protestant by faith. He is survived by wife, Kitty Martin of Brandon; sons, Bernd and Kathrine Goerke of Chemnitz, Germany, Bruce Martin of Brandon; daughters, Monika Woydig of Zwickau, Germany, Cindy DiBrizzi of Brandon, Deborah Martin of Brandon; grandchildren, Jana, Susi, Benny, Manuela, Micha, Nichole, Danielle, John, Kelly and Hunter; six great-grandchildren. Special Thanks to Dr. Balducci, LifePath Hospice and staff for their love and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview. HIRTH, Peter J., 84 passed away March 20, 2003. Survivors include his loving wife of over 60 years, Clara E. Hirth; daughter, B.J. Catalano; sister-in-law, Ruth Coutcher; three nieces and one nephew. Mr. Hirth was a member of the Manhattan Ave. Baptist Church, Retired from the USAF, a Mason member of the Hillsborough Lodge, past District Deputy Grand Master, Egypt Shrine and York Right. Funeral services will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Manhattan Ave. Baptist Church with Dr. Preston Bailey Officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

McDOWELL, Ann Magnon (nee Betty Blount) of Jacksonville Florida, formerly of Tampa, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness March 17, 2003 surrounded by her loving daughters. Survived by four daughters, Nancy Magnon Locke and Joy Magnon of Jacksonville, Susan Magnon Ross of Tampa, Amy Magnon of Havana, Fla., and her beloved granddaughter Laura Ann Weigand of Tampa. Born and raised in Tampa Ann was a member of two pioneering families and was predeceased by her parents Frazier Thomas (F.T.) and Lela Hayes Blount as well as her daughter Katharine Magnon McElfresh. A memorial service will be held March 23, 2003 at 2 p.m. At Mount Carmel Gardens, 5846 Mt. Carmel Terrace, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

MESSINA, Joseph (Joe), 92, a native of Tampa, passed away March 19, 2003 in Tampa. Mr. Messina is preceded in death by his parents Michele and Antonina Messina. Survivors include his sister, Annie Messina Perez; niece, Jo Ann Thoms; great-nephews, Frank D. Leto and Dino M. Leto. Mr. Messina worked as a concession stand operator at Tampa General for over twenty-five years. Pallbearers include Frank D. Leto, Dino M. Leto, J. Clyde Drummond, Nelson Maida, James A. Cunningham and William Asteasuainzarra. Graveside services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Boza & Roel Funeral Home 4730 N. Armenia Ave.

NOONAN, James R., 44, of Riverview was taken from us on Tuesday, March 18, 2003. James moved to the area 19 years ago from Ohio and was Catholic by faith. He contributed to many local civic activities to include little league baseball. He is survived by wife, Karen Noonan of Riverview; sons, Joshua and Taylor Noonan of Riverview; brothers, Patrick M. Noonan of Shelbyville, Ind.; Christopher J. Noonan of Lakeland; Sean B. Noonan of Jacksontown, Ohio; sister, Shannon Brown of Monticello, Ga. James will be dearly missed by: Riverview students and residents alike. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 4 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview.
