COOPER, Anson B. `Dutch`, 55, of New Port Richey, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio and came here six years ago from Tarpon Springs. He was a painter and a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Lou Anne Cooper; son, Dutch Cooper; and two daughters, Sherri Ann Cooper and Luciana Cooper.

DRUMMOND, John (Jack, Jr.), passed away March 24, 2003 in New Port Richey, Fla. where he had lived for the past 25 and a half years. Jack was born in Paisley, Scotland on Oct. 9, 1909 and grew up in Detroit, Mich. Jack worked at Chrysler, starting with Briggs for 43 years where he was a metal model maker. Jack was a Boy Scout in Detroit and a member of the Hannah YMCA growing up and later became involved with the Masons, serving as one of the youngest Presidents of his lodge. He also became active with the Boy Scouts where he served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 129 at Wayne Elementary School in Detroit. Later Jack served as a neighborhood commissioner, representative for Organization and Extension. He also filled a need for a merit badge counselor for unusual badge requests. Jack worked with the winter Klondike Derby in the 50's and developed a nature-training course for Scout leaders. Jack furthered his leadership training by attending programs at Philmont Scout Ranch in N.E. New Mexico in 1955 and Wood Badge Training in Wisconsin. The Boy Scouts awarded the Silver Beaver to Jack for outstanding work as a volunteer. Silver Beaver is the highest award Scouting gives to a volunteer leader. Additionally, Jack was active in Michigan Audubon, Michigan Botanical Club, where he was a life member and served as State President, a Detroit camera club, and the Rec. Lab program in southeast Michigan. Jack also taught three levels of American Red Cross First Aid. In Florida he was active in West Pasco Audubon Society, a camera club, and the West Pasco Historical Museum wher e he was a life member and a board member and a local discussion group called News and Views. He was also involved with starting Hernando-Pasco Hospice in 1984 and active with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), National Council of Senior Citizens, UAW, AARP, and life member of Federation of Manufactured Home Owners of Florida. Jack was preceded by his wife of 58 years, Torino in 1993, and a daughter Virginia in 1959. He is survived by his son, Robert of Harrison Township, Mich.; and a granddaughter Jill Shopinski of Eastpointe, Mich. Memorial requests to the Gideons International, Box 314, Mt. Clemens, Michigan 48046 would be appreciated. A memorial service was held in New Port Richey, Florida.

HOOD, Rebecca `Becky`, 71, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Dade City. She is survived by two sons, Michael Hood and William Hood, both of Dade City; one daughter, Carolyn Hood Johnson, Dade City; one sister, Velma Reynolds, Rockford, Ala.; 11 grandchildren, Cindy, Vanessa, Benny, Amanda, Christopher, Charlie, Amy K., John, Marc, Pam, and Steven; nine great grandchildren, James, Danyale, Justin, Toni, Tevin, Donovan, Mark, Bethany, and Christopher; one nephew, Sonny Reynolds; and one niece, Gail Patterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hood; and one grandson, Michael `BooBoo` Hood II. She was born December 6, 1931 in Rockford, Ala., and moved to this area in 1957. She was a citrus grader, having worked at the Lykes Pasco Packing Co. for over 25 years, and was a Methodist. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday (today) at Hodges Family Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.

KIMBALL, Myrtle E., of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Hinesburg, Vt., 77, passed away March 21, 2003, in Tampa. She is survived by daughter, Deborah Ostrofsky of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; son, Howard Kimball, daughter, Rebecca Valentino, both of Hinesburg, Vt.; grandchildren, Johanna and Erik Ostrofsky of Meadville, Pa., Crystal and Heath Owen of Hinesburg, and Colin and Lindsay Kimball of Hinesburg; sister, Ruth Lund of East Haven, Vt.; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Husband Richard A. Kimball; brother Andrew Barton, sisters, Bernice Lane and Isabelle Decoursey. Myrtle was born March 21, 1926 in Burlington, Vermont. Daughter of George Ernest Newton and Ruth Barton Newton. She graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1944. Attended Gordon College in Boston, Mass. from 1945-47 and transferred to Houghton College in Houghton, New York graduating with an AB. Degree in 1949. She was a teacher at Enosburg Falls H.S. for three years and Essex Junction H.S. for two years. She taught Middle School Social Studies at Hinesburg Elementary School for 20 years. She was also an interpreter at Shelburne Museum from 1990 to 1998. Presently she worked as a substitute teacher for the East Pasco School Di strict in Florida. She was a member of the Alliance Church of Zephyrhills, and the Community Alliance Church of Hinesburg (Hinesburg Church originating in her home). She also served as a Sunday school teacher in both the Community Alliance Church of Hinesburg and the Zephyrhills Alliance Church. She was active in both children's and adult ministries in both of these churches. Myrtle's hobbies and interests were Bible study and teaching and working in the church, local history projects, historical research and stamp collecting. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Alliance Church in Hinesburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Scholarship Fund of the Community Alliance Church, 190 Pond Road, Hinesburg, VT. LAMB, Christine Maxine, 75, of Dade City, died March 23, 2003. She was born May 1, 1927 in Crystal Springs, Fla., to Hugh and Elizabeth Bryant. Ms. Lamb worked in the medical field as a Nurse. Ms. Lamb is survived by sons, Billy Lamb of Dade City and Ronald Lamb of Palm Harbor; daughter, Conney Shams of Dade City; sisters, Libby Boudreaux of Mississippi and Alice McEldowney of Zephyrhills; brother, George Bryant of Pennsylvania and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 27, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Dade City at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Moore Officiating.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alene `Nipsey` of Dade City; children, Connie Lane West of Knoxville, Tenn., Diana Little of Montezuma, Ga., Carolyn Garrett of Spring Hill, Jimmy Lane of Brooksville, Janet Lane of Lecanto, Scott Lane of Spring Hill, Randy Lane of Dade City, Phillip Lane of Dade City, and Malena Lane of Hudson; stepson, Stephen Higdon of Dade City; two sisters, Ruth Everhart of Tampa, and Katherine Tipton Cassidy of Tampa; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

MARTIN, Clara Lynn, 91, of Safety Harbor, Florida, died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Safety Harbor, Tandem Health Care of Safety Harbor. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania and moved to Safety Harbor, from Altoona several years ago. She was sales representative in cosmetics. She was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include her daughter, Anna Marie Ermin of Safety Harbor.

SEROCKI, Diane L., 52, of Port Richey, died March 23, 2003. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she came here in 1984 from Smithtown, N.Y. She was a home care Nurse and an avid bingo player. She is survived by her son, William Serocki and her daughter, Gia Rivera, both of Port Richey; and six grandchildren.

SPOONER, Richard, 70, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at his residence. Born in Danville, Vermont he moved to this area six years ago from Hancock, Maine. Mr. Spooner was a retired retail sales manager and had served in the Naval Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Nina of Zephyrhills; three daughters, Lynn Kief of Zephyrhills, Cheryl Fabrizio of Bristol, Conn. and Lori Thompson of Thomaston, Conn.; a brother-in-law, Irv Mattson of Zephyrhills; a niece, Chris Ann Austin of Zephyrhills; two nephews; and five grandchildren. Mr. Spooner is predeceased by a grandson, Robert `Beej` Bailey.

She was born in Kreinsen, Germany and came here 30 years ago from New York City, N.Y. She was a homemaker and of Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the Beacon Square Civic Assn., Holiday, Fla. She is survived by three nieces, Grace MacDonald of Plymouth, Pa., Louise McMahon of Freehold, N.J., Barbara Bulla of Houston, Texas , and a sister-in-law, Florence Walsh of California. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2003, from 9-11 a.m. at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, where a chapel service will be held at 11 a. m. Inurnment will be in Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey, Florida.

Born September 29, 1923 in New Orleans, La., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Angella Dillon Bourgeois. Ms. Bourgeois was a retired Registered Nurse, an Army World War II veteran and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Tampa. She is survived by a sister, Norma B. Ballard of Tampa; two nephews, Patrick Ballard of Bronxville, N.Y. and Scott Ballard of Brenhan, Texas ; seven nieces, Kathy B. Godley of Lutz, Fla., Mary B. Lucas of Helena, Ala., Angela G. Alonso of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Melanie Godley of Tampa, Fla., Amanda Lucas of Helena, Ala., Lauren Alonso of Land O'Lakes, Fla. and Megan Alonso of Land O' Lakes, Fla. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, SR 54, New Port Richey, Fla. where at 2 p.m. funeral services will take place. BURKHOLDER, Mildred Olwen, 93, a resident of Plant City, passed away March 25, 2003. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Burkholder. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Bloch of Lenox, Mass., and Nora Butler of Plant City; two grandchildren, Steve Butler and his wife Sherrie of Valrico and Barbara Malchow and her husband Steve of Madison, Wis.; one great-grandchild, Bryce Malchow. Born February 19, 1910 in Vermillion, Alberta, Canada. She moved to Miami in 1932, to Tampa in 1968 and to Plant City in 1979. She was a member of Plant City Women's Club and of First Baptist Church of Plant City. She sang in choirs for more than 75 years and served as a church visitor and greeter. Memorial services will be held. Saturday, March 29, at 9:30 a.m. from First Baptist Church Plant City with Dr. Ron Churchill and Rev. Jim McMichen officiating. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army.

Davis and her husband Jerry, and Judy Sanchez all of Lutz, Fla.; three grandchildren, Neal Davis and his wife Helen, Leslee Davis-Blaikie and her husband Rodney, Denise Sanchez-Valdes and her husband Tim; four great-grandchildren; Justin, Kylie, Misty, and Evan; two sisters, Mary Criswell of Ocala, Fla., and Patty Harrell of Inverness, Fla.; one brother, Claude Jackson of Lutz, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, she moved to the Tampa Bay area 79 years ago. She was a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church, a member of the 1918 Club, and also a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Clement's Episcopal Church. The Reverend Alton J. Chapman, Rector, Celebrant. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clement's Episcopal Church for the Dominican Project.

DEESE, Dixie J., 68, of Seffner, entered into rest on March 24, 2003, in Tampa. She was a Protestant and a loving wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert B., Sr.; sons, Robert B., Jr., and James A.; daughter, Tina L.; brother, Jack Turpin; sisters, Sharon Varney and Toni Camp, and five grandchildren.. Visitation will be held on. Friday March 28, 2003 from 5-7 p.m., with services Saturday at 10 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial F.H.

FAIRLEY, Scott Ellis, 41, passed away March 23, 2003 following a ski accident in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a resident of Palm Desert, California where, as a Civil Engineer, he was employed by Turner Construction as a Project Manager. Previously from Tampa, Florida, he graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1980 then Mississippi State University in 1988. Scott's love of the outdoors was exemplified by his many ventures into rock climbing, snow skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, biking, sailing, horseback riding, camping and hiking. His Christian beliefs were evident from his relationships with family and friends. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Lynn I. Fairley. Survived by his mother, Marjorie Scott Fairley; sister, Jayne Leslie (John) Policandriotes; nephews, John Scott and Jared Theodore Policandriotes; uncles, John (Yvonne), and Donald (Margaret) Scott; many loving cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2003, 1 p.m. at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Cnurch, 2902 West Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Donations may be made to Lake Magdalene UMC in Scott's memory or a charity of choice.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m., Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave., W., Bradenton, with Rev. Chris Akers officiating. Born in Norwalk, Conn., she moved to Tampa in 1955 and Bradenton in 1985. She was a retired sixth grade school teacher for Fairfield County, Conn., School System. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Bradenton, and a former member of the Methodist Church in Tampa. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Ross of Bradenton and two grandchildren, Brittany Ross and Taylor Ross.
