He was born in Chicago, Ill., and came here 24 years ago from Valparaiso, Ind. He was Catholic and a World War II Navy Veteran, member of the Moose, Ind., American Legion, Holiday, Fla., Life Member VFW Holiday, Order of Eagles, Ind., and a master Mason and Shriner. He was a self employed interior and exterior decorator. Survivors include his wife, Janette; two step-sons, Ronald Reedy of Valparaiso, and Robert Reedy of New Port Richey; two daughters, Pamela Zentz of New Port Richey and Barbara Daniels of Murphysboro, Tenn. There are 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved here in 1997 from Mastic Beach, L.I., N.Y. He retired as a New York City Firefighter, US Navy Veteran of World War II, and was of Catholic Faith. He is survived by daughters, Barbara (John) Ritchie of Hudson, Judith (Gary) Robinson of St. Augustine Beach; sister, Carol Mackie or Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. He was born in Nicholasville, Ky., and moved to Hudson from West Palm Beach in 1996. He was a retired automotive mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Cain of Hudson; son, John Howard (Sue) of Hopkinsville, Ky.; daughters, Darlene Fletcher (Jim) of Hudson, Carlene Quick of New Port Richey, and Shirley Farrior (Forrest) of Mt. Olive, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2003 from 2 p.m. until service begins at 4 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home.

DUDLEY, Shirley Reynolds, 67, of Zephyrhills died Sunday, May 25, 2003. She was born in Montpelier, Vt., August 10, 1935 and attended school in East Calais grades 1 to 8. She went to Spaulding High School in Barry, Vt., and graduated in 1953. After High School, Shirley worked for the Vermont Department of Highways for 8 years in Montpelier. On July 24, 1955 she married Richard Dudley and made her home in East Barry where their 3 children were born. Shirley ran a Day Care at home until all of her children started school. In 1965 they moved to S. Burlington, Vt., and made their home there until retiring, in 1997, from the University of Vermont due to her health. She had worked there for 24 years. Shirley and Richard moved to Zephyrhills and made that their home for the last 7 years, spending summers in Milton, Vt. Shirley is survived by her husband, of nearly 48 years, Richard; Daughter, Robin and her husband George Ellwood of Shelburne, Vt.; Sons, Ronald and his close companion Julia Langdell of Milton, Vt., and Mark and his wife Rebecca of Barry, Vt.; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, Edith Woodcock in November 2002. She was very close to and fond of her sister-in-law Kay Andrews of Balston Lake, N.Y. and Zephyrhills and also spent summers at the campground in Vt. A Memorial service will he held Thursday, May 29, 2003 in the Recreation Hall of the Tippecanoe Mobile Home Park in Zephyrhills with Rev. Charles Palmer officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center Building Fund at 7066 Ft. King Road Zephyrhills, FL 33541. We thank the staff there for their caring of Shirley, she got the BEST she could get.

He has been a resident here for 25 years. He was an office manager employed by the State of Louisiana and a World War II Veteran and part of the Army Air Force. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Maderia Beach, Senate Mayor of Homeowners Association, and a Episcopalian. He is survived by wife, Eleanor G. Hobbs of Port Richey; sons, Thomas Gunter and wife, Paula of Tallahassee; John Gunter and wife, Sly of St. Petersburg; sisters, Doris Ryder and husband, Frank of West Wego, La., and Shirley Oliver and husband, Rency of Gretna, La.; and one grandson; Paul Gunter of Tallahassee.

SPENCER, Misty Michelle, 23, of Dade City, died May 25, 2003 at Tampa General Hospital. She came here in 1995 from her native Orlando. She was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center in Brooksville, Fla., and she was a Baptist. Survivors include her son, Spencer Edward Austin Harrelson, of Dade City; her mother, Barbara Spencer of Dade City; her sister, Lisa Collins and husband Ronald Collins, Sr., of Valrico; a niece, Tausha Cooper of Plant City; and two nephews, Ronald Collins, Jr. and Buster Collins both of Valrico. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mulcahy; her nieces and nephews, Dan Barrett, Ron Dickey, David Duquette, and Deborah Duquette; her aunts and uncle Goldie Griffith, Ruth Leonard, and Jack Wine. She retired after 42 years of service from ATK Alliant Techsystems. She was also known for her love of dancing by many couples in Tampa. She will be dearly missed by family and friends and has now gone to a happier place. EDWARDS, Heard Milton, 90, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Monday, May 26, 2003 after an extended illness. Mr. Edwards Was the son of Lemmie Norris and Ernest Edwards. He married Frieda Carlton Edwards on December 23, 1934 and has been at resident of Fort Myers since 1941. Mr. Edwards was elected Mayor of the City of Fort Myers in 1952 and served for 3 terms of office. Mr. Edwards was elected after the recall of then Mayor Florence Fritz and several members of the City Council. Mr. Edwards was credited with restoring stability to City government. Acquiring and preserving the downtown riverfront was his main priority as Mayor. The Exhibition Hall, a new City Hall, the Teen Clubs and swimming pools on Cleveland Avenue and in the Dunbar community were completed while he was Mayor. He was instrumental in bringing the Pittsburgh Pirates to Fort Myers for spring training. Mr. Edwards also served as Chairman of the Lee County Airport Advisory Committee. As a businessman, he owned the Seven-Up - Dr. Pepper bottling plants in Fort Myers and West Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Edwards served as a Director of Exchange Bank Corporation of Florida and was Chairman of the Boards of Exchange Bank of Lee County, Collier County, Manatee County and Sarasota County. He served as Chairman of the Board of Security National Bank of Lee County. Mr. Edwards was also involved in the citrus industry and was the proud owner of Wildcat Ranch. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Frieda Edwards of Fort Myers; son, Charles Berkley Edwards (Suzanne) of Fort Myers; daughter, Martha Edwards Zehner of Fort Myers; grandchildren, Stephanie Zehner Foshee (John), Clayton Robert Zehner, Jr. (Laura), Charles Berkley Edwards, Jr. (Charlotte), and Scott McMillen Edwards (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby Zehner, Alex, Emily and Jessica Edwards; Sister, Fronnie Roe (H.M.); and sisters-in-law, Iva Norris and Viola Carlton. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fort Myer s on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment at Memorial Gardens will be private. Memorials in Mr. Edwards honor may be made to Hope Hospice.
