DODSON, Jackie C., 83 of Tampa, Florida passed away on July 22, 2003. Mrs. Dodson is preceded in death by her husband Kermit and her son Roy Carrier, parents, Mae and Hullen Smith, and her sister Maxine `Mickey` Adams. She leaves behind to celebrate her life; sons, Jerry Carrier (Mary) of Columbus Ohio, Michael Carrier of Waverly, Ohio; grandchildren, Denise, Scott, Wendy, Joy, Mike Eddie, Jeff Carrier and many great-grandchildren; and her nephew Jack Adams (Eileen). Jackie was a lady of dignity, integrity, courage, compassion, adventure, humor, intelligence and kindness. Her life was marked with her love of people, animals and books. Everyone knew how much Jackie loved her dog Muffy. Jackie and her family appreciate the dedicated support of her friend Richard Bradbury of Tampa, Florida and gratefully acknowledge the care she received from Kindred and St. Joseph's and Manor Care. In lieu of flowers those desiring to honor Jackie's life are welcome to make contributions in her memory to a charity of your choosing.

ELMORE, Alice Ruth, 59, of Lakeland, passed away July 18, 2003. Born in Beckley, W.Va., she is survived by husband, Fred; two sons, four brothers and three sisters.

GARCIA, Joe Alberto, Sr., 68, born in Tampa, Fla., went to be with our Lord, Jesus, July 4, 2003 in Clendenin, W.Va., where he lived. A student of St. Joseph School, he served in the US Army, was a member of United Steel Workers Union, Sharp Shooters of W. Va. Pistol and Rifle Assoc. He is survived by his parents, Alberto Garcia, Clara Elena Castillo; grandparents, Joaquin Garcia Carmen Trujillo, Margarita Lazcano; his son, Joey A. Garcia Jr. of West Tampa; grandchildren, Marissa and Matthew; his daughter, Lena Berrus, grandchildren, Paul and Lindsey Dickinson, Lowville, N.Y.; brothers, Albert Garcia and Pete Alfonso; uncles, Pat Castillo, Richard Garcia, Alfonso Garcia; aunts, Gloria Alfonso, Ofelia Couceyro, Helen Gaudin, Angie Giovenco Castillo, Josephine Ficarrotta; cousins, Nancy Sullens, Danny Castillo, Patsy Ciccarello, Inez Buggica, Shirley Frost, Carmen Lauderdale, Sonia LaFe, Robert Torres, Nadine Weiderer, Pete Alfonso (architect), Frank Sierra, Nancy Varga, Ivera LaNuez, and Hope Gobbey. GARCIA, Sr. Alfredo, age 90, of Tampa, passed away July 22, 2003. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, survivors include his beloved wife, Guillermina `Cuca` Garcia; daughter, Irma Garcia; son, Alfred Garcia, Jr. and wife Carol; grandchildren, Debbie Nieto and husband Johnny, Frank DiMaria Jr. and wife Leigh, Brian Garcia and wife Claudia and Carla Garcia; great-grandchildren, Amri Diaz, Tiffany Diaz, Frank Ryan Diaz, Nisa Garcia and Nolan DiMaria. Memorial services will be held Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home. A native Bauta, Cuba and resident of Tampa for the past 44 years, Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by loving children, Edna, Chichi, Lisy, Roberto and Missy; grandchildren, Christina, Vickie, Tony, Becky, Joey, Christopher and Adrianna; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Robert, III and her loving family in Cuba. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mrs. Gonzalez was a dedicated mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. HIGGINS, Robert John, 55, of Brandon, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003. He is survived by his two children, Shawn and Kim Higgins; and his loving family.

JACKSON, Mr. Johnny C., 59, of Tampa, born in Eufaula, Ala., passed away July 16, 2003. son of the late John Jackson and Rosa Stanford Jackson, he was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Jackson and one son. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving family. Viewing will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home with the family hour from 7-8 p.m. Memorial services will be held at New Progress M.B. Church, 3307 E. Shadowlawn Ave., Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

KOZA, Henry Lawrence, 67, of Valrico, passed on peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2003. He is survived by his son, Matt Koza and wife Sheryl of Valrico, Fla.; daughter, Nancy Koza of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Tom Vila and wife Fran of Morristown, N.J.; sister-in-law, Rita Vila of Brewster, N.Y.; and two granddaughters, Danielle and Ashleigh Koza. He resided in Valrico coming from New Milford, Conn., (formerly of Carmel, N.Y.) Henry was a traffic manager for Hollander Trading Corp. for 27 years. Funeral services will be conducted 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Dorsey Funeral Home, Ossing, N.Y. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Lackmann; sisters, Bernie Henshaw and Jeanne Brown; and grandchildren, Brooks and Chase Lackmann. MARRERO, Linda Kaye, 51, of Riverview, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003. Preceded in death by her father, Lamar Glisson. She is survived by her husband, Emil `Pete` Marrero; son, Joshua Lee Singletary of Riverview, Fla.; mother, Betty Glisson of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Bob Glisson of Seffner, Fla., Bill Glisson of Valrico, Fla., Tim Glisson of Tampa, Fla., Mike Reynolds of Riverview, Fla. and Emil Kelley Marrero of Brandon, Fla.; granddaughters, Olivia Leila Marrero and Shiane Akers, both of Brandon, Fla.; aunt and uncle, Bob and Connie Parshall of Trenton, Ohio; aunt, Erma Hunt of Valrico, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A lifelong resident of the Riverview area, she was an accounts manager with Meadow Burke Co., Tampa for 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. Interment to follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. MELEAR, June A., 74, of Ruskin, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Kevin and Kurt Borton; daughter, B. Starr Borton; brother, Maynard Hansen; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She resided in Tampa area for 43 years coming from Michigan, she was a store clerk with Circle K for 27 years. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

MOORE, Vivian `Vicki` N., 80 of Tampa, Florida passed away on July 24, 2003. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her husband E.A. `Bill` Moore and is survived by her sons, Jerry A. Moore, Sr. (Ellen), Donnie P. Moore (Sandy), sisters, Shirley Lindsey, Sara Glover, Sue Fluker, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 420 7 E. Lake Ave., Tampa on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00a.m. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

MORTON, Rose Ann, age 60, died Sunday, July 13, 2003. She lived in Jacksonville, Fla. with her husband, Robert since 1969. She was a member of Southside Christian Church's choir and she had worked for the Jacksonville Zoo as a Senior Educator. She was a charter graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa. Memorial services will be held at the graveside at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2003.

PICKERT, William Max, 86 of Lutz, Florida passed away July 19, 2003. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lutz, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary R. Pickert; his daughter, Maxene Pickert; several sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held July 25, 2003, Friday at 2:30 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Lutz, Florida.

ROOT, James H., 55, died at home Tuesday, July 22, 2003. Jim grew up in Massachusetts, loving seafood and `muscle cars`. He had been a resident of Tampa for the past thirteen years. He was a 1965 graduate of Lunenburg High School and subsequently joined the Navy where he proudly served aboard the flight deck of the U.S.S. Forrestal from 1965 to 1971, participating in one of the worst Naval fire disasters in U.S. history. He was well known in the Tampa Bay area in automotive sales and he was a skilled finish carpenter who enhanced the homes of many area residents. Jim is survived by a daughter, Tobi Cameron of Canadaigua, New York, two granddaughters, Morgan and Brooke, and his sister and brother-in-law Randy and Bonnie Marceau of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Monday, July 28 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. SCOTT, Charles Frederick, 59 of Albuquerque, New Mexico, previously a resident of St. Petersburg for thirty years, died July 22, 2003. He was the son of Cecil D. and Myrtle Goode of Titusville; husband of Linda Scott of Albuquerque; father to Michael B. Scott of Rome, Ga., brother to Doug Goode of Waverly, Ga. and Cecelia Epperson of Port St. John, Fla. He served in the Marine Corps in the Vietnam era and retired from Bay Front Hospital where he was Insurance Administrator. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Haught Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Mt. Enon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday between 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SEE, Floyd W., 84, of Sun City Center, passed away July 23, 2003 in Tampa. A native of Keota, Iowa, Mr. See had moved to the area in 1997 from Keota. He was a retired Master Sergeant having served in the U.S. Air Force in North Africa during World War II. Mr. See was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruskin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Joan See; three brothers, Aubrey, James and Richard; and a grandson, Aaron See. He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey S. of California, Rev. David P. of Ruskin, Michael P. of Ruskin, and Robert W. of California; a brother, Lt. Col. Harold See, Retired, of Troy, Ala.; two sisters, Dorothy Vorbau of Arizona and Rosemary Baumert of Keota, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lewers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ruskin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
