Gracie Caroldine Dudley, 64, died June 16, 2003.

She was born April 21, 1939 to the Late William and Clester Roulhac. She was a member of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was married in Holy Matrimony to the late John Lee Dudley.

She leaves six children to cherish her memories: three daughters, Gloria Dudley, and Linda Dudley both of Grand Ridge and Cleastree Dudley and her husband, Riley Brown of Sneads; three sons, Rev. Andrew Dudley and his wife, Barbara, and Isiah Dudley all of Grand Ridge, and Rufus Dudley and his wife, Karen of Bristol; two sisters, Lucille Roulhac Davis of Maple Wood, New Jersey and Sherley Johnson of Orlando; three brothers, Arthur and his wife, Mary, Aaron and his wife, Pat and Frank Bell Roulhac all of Irvington, New Jersey; four sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Dudley and Irene Dudley of Blountstown, and Roxie Mae Dawson and Penny Lea Dudley of Grand Ridge; one brother-in-law, Rev. Raymond Dudley of Grand Ridge; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the St. Rose AME Church in the St. Rose community. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Cypress.

The family will receive friends at the wake, at 5 p.m. today, Friday, June 20, at the funeral home. Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.

Agnes Ilene Baxter, 89, of Chipley died Friday, June 13, 2003, in Dothan, Ala.

She was a lifelong resident of Chipley. She was a charter member of the New Home Methodist Church. She was a retired as lunchroom supervisor with the Washington County School Board.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Baxter; a son, Don Baxter; and two brothers Shorty and Wilburn Gainey.

She is survived by a daughter, Juanita and her husband, Charlie Nelson of Chipley; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ann Baxter of Marianna; four sisters, Fleda Anderson of Macon, Ga., Mildred Minter of Columbia, S.C., Betty Murson of Columbus, Ga. and Thelma Broom of Auburndale; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, at the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Owen and Gary Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.

The family received friends Saturday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Wachob Chapel.

At the family's reequest, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Northwest Florida, 2917 Optimist Drive, Marianna, FL or the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1763 Piney Grove Road, Chipley, FL 32428.

John Clayton Burch, 90, of Marianna, formerly of Hartford, Ala. died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in Marianna.

A native of Hartford, Ala., he was born January 28, 1913. Early in life, he was the proprietor of Burch's Groceries, later becoming a successful builder and contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Brackin Burch and father, Willie Green Burch of Hartford. He was also nephew to the late Senator and Mrs. Newman Brackin, Seeb Burch and Mrs. Annie Jackson Burch of Clio, Ala. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oeal Burch and Clyde Burch; and four sisters, Maynelle Burch Driver, Modell Burch Ray, Aileen Burch Blair Evans adn Merle Burch West.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Surber Burch of Marianna; twin daughters, Alice Surber Kolcun and her husbnad, Ron of Corning, N.Y. and Betty Suber Cox and her husband, Steve of Tampa; one sister, Lorene Burch Liddon of Dothan, Ala.; three nephews, Bart Liddon, Billy Liddon and his wife, Barbara, all of Dothan, and Julius Burch and his wife, Carol of Montgomery, Ala.; three nieces, Mary Page Burch Dykes, her son Steve and daughter Annette, all of Charleston, S.C., Clare Burch Summerville and Reba Burch Hadden and her husband, Monte, all of Winter Haven; and four grandchidlren, Marcus W. Hubbard of Tampa, Leslie Rae Cox of Savannah, Ga., Susan E. Cox and Eric J. Cox, both of Birmingham.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. CDT Sunday, June 22, at First Baptist Church in Marianna with the Revs. Michael Petty and Jack Howell officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Malone with James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Maddox Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Cox, Eric Cox, Marc Hubbard, Ron Kolcun, Julius Burch and Thaddeus Everette. Honorary pallbearers include Bart Liddon, Billy Liddon, Steve Dykes, Jim Newton, Ted Hubbard, Henry Turner, Gene Dixon, Johnny Gilbert, Harold Dekle, Ben Floyd and David Slay.

Henry Lucus O'Daniel, 95, of Marianna died Monday, May 26, 2003, in the Nursing Pavilion.

The funeral will be held today, Thursday, May 29, at 10 a.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Petty officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Chipola Junior College Foundation.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Demetrius Ronell Godwin (better known as Ervin), 23, of Greenwood died Sunday, May 25, 2003.

He was a native of Blountstown, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and a member of the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Diane E. Godwin of Greenwood; his father, Earl Garvin of Blountstown; and two sisters, Stacy Godwin and Satoria Godwin, both of Greenwood.

The funeral will be held Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at the Blountstown High School auditorium in Blountstown with the Rev. Dr. C.L. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 30 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church.

The body will lie at the Blountstown High School auditorium one hour prior to the funeral.

Henry Lucus O'Daniel, 95, of Marianna died Monday, May 26, 2003, in the Nursing Pavilion.

He was a resident of this area since 1995 after moving here from Ormond Beach. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna and a member of the Kentucky Retired Teacher's Association and had served as principal for the Graves County Kentucky School Board. He was a best friend and advisor to his son.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Gladys O'Daniel in March of 2003.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Dale O'Daniel and his wife, Judith of Marianna; one grandson, Shannon O'Daniel and his wife, Lori of Marianna; two great-grandchildren, Steven and Dustin O'Daniel of Marianna; and several nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held Thursday, May 27, at 10 a.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Petty officiating. The family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, May 28, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Chipola Junior College Foundation. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Allie Mae Truxal, 82, of Grand Ridge died Monday, May 26, 2003, at her home.

She was a native of this area and was a social worker with the Florida State Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of the New Beginnings Holiness Church in Grand Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Durden Scott in 2001.

She is survived by three nephews; one niece; and many friends who will greatly miss Ms. Allie.

The funeral will be held Thursday, May 29, at 3 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Bill Wheeler officiating. Burial will be the Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, May 28, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Netta Bell Williams, 87, of Malone died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in the Courtyard at the Millpond in Marianna.

She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of the Antioch Assembly of God Church in Grangerburg, a member of the Sr. Citizens Joy Club of Malone and the Friends Forever Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Onus Williams in 1989.

She is survived by her four children, Bobby Williams and his wife, Rosilind of Rosharon, Texas , George Williams of Malone, Joyce Griffin and her husband, Ralph of Thomsom, Ga. and Vermell Baxter and her husband, Titus of Appling, Ga.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held Saturday, May 24, at 2 p.m. in the Antioch Assembly of God Church in Grangerburg, Ala. with the Revs. Stephen Peacock and Dorman Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today, Friday, May 23, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing may make contributions to the Antioch Assembly of God for the Cemetery.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Irby Edward Dasinger, 89, of Cottondale died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Chipley.

He had resided in Cottondale since 1937, coming from Midland City, Ala. He owned and operated a rolling store for 20 years. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cottondale.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann Franklin of Chipley and Joan Gainer and her husband, Bob of Cottondale; five grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Franklin, Joani and Glen Rogers, Jeff and Marsha Gainer, Keith and Kim Gainer, and Mic and Karen Gainer; and 13 great-grandchildren, Katie Davis, Zane and Honor Rogers, Christon Gainer, Michael Gainer, Cody Gainer, Tori Gainer, Buck Gainer, Beth Gainer, Caleb Gainer, Shawn and Tracy Benton, Cara Brooks, Eddie Rushing and Krissa Tyus.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Chipley, with the Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating. Burial will be in the First United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cottondale. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. on Saturday, May 24, at the funeral home.

Bobby Woodrow Albu, 71, of Marianna died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at his residence.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Maddox Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Potter officiating. Cremation will follow. James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Jessica Ann Ball, 18, of Cottondale, died Friday, June 20, 2003, near Marianna from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, a 2003 graduate of Cottondale High School, and a student at Chipola Junior College. She was employed by Jim's Buffet and Grill in Marianna and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Milford M. Ball in 1998.

She is survived by her parents, Greg and Jackie Ball; two brothers, Jeff Ball and his wife, Amy, and Matt Ball and his wife, Alana; one sister, Liza Speers and her husband, Rodney; paternal grandmother Dorothy Ball; maternal grandparents Doug and Evelyn Barber; and three nieces, Kindal Ball, Ashley Ball and Lilly Ball, all of Cottondale.

The fuenral will be held at 2 p.m. CDT, Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Cottondale High School gymnasium with the Rev. Jackie Register officiating. Burial will follow in Cottondale Baptist Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., today, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sara Cloud Sirmon, 78, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at her residence in Marianna.

She was of the Holiness faith, a housewife and a homemaker, and a lifelong resident of Jackson County.

She is survived by two sons, Coy Weeks and his wife, Katrine of Marianna and Charles Weeks and his wife, Carolyn of Cottondale; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Meredith of Marianna; two sisters, Mary Edenfield of Grand Ridge and Gracie Weeks of Grand Ridge; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at the Cypress Holiness Church in Cypress with the Revs. Jerry Mears and Charles Meadows officiating.

The family will receive friends at Lord Funeral Home today, Wednesday, June 25, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Weeks, Carson John Weeks, Perry Weeks, DeWayne Weeks, Howard Meredith, Joel Meredith, William Weeks and John W. Weeks.
