ULICS, George, 66, of Sun City Center, Fla. died July 22, 2003. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a Design Engineer after 20 years of service and later from Quantum Composites as a Design Engineer after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Kings Point Lawn Bowlers Association, King and Queen Garden Club of Kings Point, and Kings Point Bingo. He was preceded in death by his son, Attila. Survivors include his wife, Janette; a son, George, Jr.; three sisters, Maria, Gizella, and Aranka all of Hungary; a grandson, Steven Ulics and a nephew, John Rudolph Ulics. WHITE, Michael Thomas, 35, of Plant City, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2003. He was a Methodist, a baker at the Valrico Walmart, as well as a former employee of the Publix warehouse in Lakeland. He was regarded as a loving husband, son, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Kimberly; parents, Tommy and Loretha; brother, Timothy A. and wife Brenda of Arkansas; nephew, Tyler; grandparents, George Wayford and Thelma Vaughn, and Veryland and Mary White; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Glenda Conner and a large extended family. Visitation will be held on Friday July 25, 2003 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with services on Saturday at 10 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.

YONKE, Ferdinand 83, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in Tampa. An Army World War II Veteran, he participated in the Normandy Invasion. His son Roy predeceases him. He is survived by loving family: sons, Rick, Paul, David and John; daughter, Elaine; brothers, George and Joe; sisters, Rose and Dottie and 13 grandchildren.

AMEY, Bernadette of North Falmouth, Mass., formerly of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on July 23, 2003. She was 91 years old. She was predeceased by her husband, Matt Amey and her son, Brent D. Amey, M.D. She was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa. She lived in several different states before retiring to Tampa, Fla. She lived in Tampa for 25 years. Five months ago she moved to the Royal Megansett Nursing Home in North Falmouth to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her two daughters, Karlyn Curran of Mashpee, Mass. and Susan Lavin of Conifer, Colo.; a son-in-law, Mike Lavin, also of Conifer, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Twila Amey of Odessa, Fla.; five grandchildren, including Jan Ferraro of Falmouth, Mass., three step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 25th at St. Jude's Chapel Christ at Christ the King Parish, Mashpee, Mass. Interment will be on Wednesday, July 30th at Trinity Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Fla. Memorial donations may be sent to the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, Attention: Tampa Children's Hospital, 4600 N. Habana Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607. Arrangements by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Mashpee.

BARKMAN, Carl C., 74, of Zephyrhills, passed away July 23, 2003 in Zephyrhills under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Traute `Trudy` Barkman of Zephyrhills; one son, Carl J. Barkman of Senoia, Ga.; two daughters, Jo Anne Barkman and Nancy Albritton both of Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Hammond of Sinclairville, N.Y. He was predeceased by a brother, James Barkman of Newark, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2003 at Whitfield Funeral Home, with Chaplain Marc Genton officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Born May 9, 1929 in Alto, Tennessee to Frank and Emily `Ada` (Potts) Barkman, he came to Zephyrhills in 2000 from Peachtree City, Ga. He was a Recruiter for the U.S. Navy, a past member of the VFW and a Methodist.

BLANCHARD, Scott G., 49, of Wesley Chapel, died Thursday morning, July 24, 2003 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (today) at the Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home. A native of Riverhead, N.Y., he moved here 12 years ago from Abington, Mass. He was a senior repair technician and foreman for Black & Decker/ Dewalt in Tampa. He was a lifelong collector of model cars and he built a trophy winning '23 T-Bucket. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; one daughter, Amanda Hancock of Wiltshire, England; one sister, Debra Dawn O'Dell of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, David Arthur Blanchard of Ridge Manor and Steven Roberts Blanchard of Wesley Chapel; his parents, Arthur and Betty Blanchard of Ridge Manor; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted, or those who wish can make a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society.

BOYD, Richard `Rich` W., 54, of Clearwater, formerly of Holiday, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Anna, Illinois and moved to Clearwater from Holiday in 2001. He was a security guard for Eckerds and a member Northside Baptist Church, St. Petersburg. Survivors include wife, Jan Boyd; son, Jared R. Boyd of Bristol, R.I.; daughter, Jodi K. Boyd of Warren, R.I.; mother, Daisy Boyd of Holiday, Fla.; and granddaughter, Taylor. Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, from 2 p.m. until service begins at 3 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Monday, July 28, 10 a.m. at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens.

She moved from India to New Orleans in 1976 and came to Dade City in 1983. She worked part time as an office manager for her husband, Dr. Paul Chakola at his Zephyrhills office. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Paul L. Chakola M.D. of Saint Leo; her son, Paul J. Chakola of Brandon; daughter, Priya Chakola and son-in-law John Nabakavukaran of Stockton, California; three sisters, Ramani Phillip, Geeta Jinny and Lata Thomas all of India; brother Pav Anchery of India; her mother, Lily Anchery of India; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Saint Leo Abbey Church in Saint Leo. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City.

COLE, Violet J., 80, of Hudson, passed away July 23, 2003, at Bear Creek Nursing Home, Hudson. Born in Rochester, N.Y., she moved here in 1981. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hudson. She is survived by son, Thomas W. Cole of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter, Carol Roberts of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, MArk Blakley of Rochester, N.Y., and Doris Rothi of Hudson, Fla.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was born August 18, 1917 in New York City and came here 22 years ago from Islip Terrace, N.Y. He was retired from Inter County Motor Coach in Babylon, N.Y. He was a Lutheran and a member of First Florida Fire Fighters and the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Irene; a step son, George Sayler of Ashland, Mass.; and two step daughters, Charlene Scott of Pompton Lakes, N.J., and Debbie Blombeck of Orchard Park, N.Y.

DAVIS, Mary M., 74, of Holiday passed away July 25, 2003 at Orchard Ridge Rehab & Nursing Center in New Port Richey. Born July 12, 1929, she came here 33 years ago from her native Peoria, Illinois. She was Catholic and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Richard; four sons, Mike of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mark of Holiday, Fla., Matt of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Mitch of New Port Richey; one daughter, Melanie of Gainesville, Fla.; one brother, Jerry Reichelderfer of Hayfork, Calif.; one sister, Carol Nena of Illinois, and four grandchildren.

ERVIN, William D., age 78, of New Port Richey passed away July 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Olmsted, Illinois and came to New Port Richey in 2002 from Inverness, Fla. He was a plant engineer for Caterpillar Corp in Aurora, Ill. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers, Industrial Management Association, Foreign Affairs Council, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Freda Ervin; five sons, Doc, Gary and Bill Ervin all of Montgomery, Ill., Dennis of Spring Grove, Ill., and Dana of Plano, Ill.; two daughters, Carla Brown of New Port Richey and Darcy Capocasa of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; brother, Marvin Ervin of Jonesborough, Ill.; two sisters, Faymel Bergfeld of Aurora, Ill., and Viola Bagby of Jackson, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. FIGUEROA, Radames, 57, of Spring Hill, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003 at home. He was born in Puerto Rico and came here six years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. He was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his partner, Priscilla Smith of Spring Hill; three sons, Raymond and Robert, both of Long Island, N.Y. and Richard of Staten Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Nanine Reha of Long Island, N.Y., and Melissa Figueroa of Staten Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and their Rosary Society. Survivors include three sons, Thomas of W. Melbourne, Fla., Paul of Deer Park, N.Y., and John of Irvington, N.Y.; a brother, Eugene Maslauskas of South Bellmore, N.Y.; two sisters, Angela Wonson of Port Richey and Rose Rumpf of Hudson, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

KEEN, Roy, 65, of Holiday passed away July 23, 2003 at his home. Born April 12, 1938, he came here 20 years ago from his native England. He was a sporting goods associate with WalMart in Largo, an avid fisherman and a member of the Church of England. Survivors include his wife, Linda; a son, Anthony of Dublin, Ireland; a daughter, Deborah Keen of Kent, England and two grandchildren.

KOKOTT, Hans J., 85, of Hudson, Fla., passed away on July 24, 2003 at Bayonet Point Health and Rehab Center, Hudson. He was born in Lahse, Germany and moved here in 1998 from Dekalb, Illinois. He was a mechanical engineer employed by Northern Illinois University. He served in World War II in the German Army. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Gudrun Kokott; a son, Michael Kokott of Sycamore, Ill.; a daughter, Uta Pergler of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Bell Funeral Home, 7532 St. Rd. 52, Hudson, Rev. James Burke officiating. Inurnment will be held at the Church of the Atonement in Chicago, Illinois at the convenience of the family. She was born in New York, New York and moved to New Port Richey from East Rockaway, N.Y. 14 years ago. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, New Port Richey, member VFW Auxiliary, and a member American Legion Auxiliary. He was also a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of World War II. DEATON, Patricia Faye, 71, Tampa, died July 23, 2003. Born in Plant City, she was a retired bookkeeper and cost accountant for Tampa Tank & Welding. She is survived by son, James; daughters Patricia and Margo; daughter-in-law, Wendy; sisters, Mary, Christine and Ann; and grandson, Sean. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Swilley Funeral Home Chapel, 1602 W. Waters Ave. Memorial Mass will be July 28, 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 7001 S. 12th Ave., Palm River. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Plant City.

DOWD, Larry McDaniel, 38, of Tampa, died July 22, 2003. He is survived by daughter, Jessica; and numerous family members. Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Auburndale Memorial Park.

DUBIN, Sam, age 104, of Tampa, died Thursday, July 25, 2003. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Dubin moved to Tampa in 1943. Sam was self-employed as an accountant and a former member of Temple Schaarai Zedek. He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Frances, who died in 1993 after a marriage of nearly 50 years. Survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Dubin of Tampa and Ronald and Bonnie Dubin of Sarasota; granddaughter, Danielle; brother, Ben Dubin of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Sunday, 11 a.m. at Beth David Funeral Chapel, 3909 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa. Rabbi Eric Lazar will officiate. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to LifePath Hospice.
