FREDERICK ABBOTT, 75, of Largo died Friday at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. A native of Woburn, Mass., he moved to this area in 1980 from Quincy, Mass. He was a supervisor of maintenance with the Boston Housing Authority for 32 years, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13 in St. Pete Beach, the board of directors of the St. Vincent DePaul Holy Name Society's Bethlehem Center, Knights of Columbus Largo Council 4892 and St. Jerome Catholic Church, where he was also an usher. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Dennis of Quincy and Carl of Largo; a daughter, Gail Chieco of Oceanside, Calif.; a sister, Claire Johnson of Stoneham, Mass.; and four grandchildren. JOHN B. ALLISON, 72, of Dunedin died Friday at Clearwater. A native of Springfield, Mass., he moved to this area in 1983 from Glenview, Ill. He was a senior group consultant with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. He is survived by his wife, Brooke H.; two sons, Jeffrey C. of Libertyville, Ill., and Jay B. of Clearwater; four daughters, Jerrianne Anderson of Hawthorne Woods, Ill., Jane Sue of Evanston, Ill., Brooke A. SYLVIA BARLES, 86, of Clearwater died Saturday at Manor Care of Palm Harbor. A native of Russia, she moved to this area in 1978 from Providence, R.I. She was a member of Temple Ahavat Shalom of Palm Harbor, Hadassah and Pioneer Women. REGINA D. FRIEND, 74, of St. Petersburg died from injuries received in a car accident Tuesday at Bayfront Medical Center. A native of Philadelphia, she moved to this area in 1966 from Hawaii. She was employed in the telephone sales department with Home Shopping Network and a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. She is survived by a son, William A. Thompson of Deer Park, Wash.; two brothers, Joseph Dallas of Perkiomenville, Pa., and John Dallas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. MILDRED E. HOOK, 80, of Largo died Friday at home. A native of Port Huron, Mich., she moved to this area in 1980. She was a retired minister with the rank of brigadier with the Salvation Army. She is survived by a son, Richard S. of Dowling, Mich.; a daughter, E. Joanne Hodges of Hesperia, Mich.; a sister, Gladys Shannon of Yale, Mich.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. JAMES HOWARD, 68, of Largo died Friday at Sun Coast Hospital. A native of London, he moved to this area in 1978 from New York. He was an applications engineer with Nestor Precision Tools, a British Army veteran of World War II, a Kentucky Colonel, a Pentecostal minister, formerly pastor of three churches in England, past dean of Calvary Bible School in New York, past graduate dean at Florida Beacon Bible College in Clearwater and a member of Woodlawn Church of God in Clearwater, where he was an elder and Bible teacher. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; a son, Graham of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Maureen Moody and Deborah Heisele, both of Largo; and eight grandchildren. JOHN PRENTISS HUFF, 78, of Dunedin died Saturday at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Bay Pines. A native of Washington , D.C., he moved to this area in 1977 from Springfield, Va. He was a retired Army lieutenant colonel, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a former member of the Dunedin Country Club and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. He is survived by his wife, Betty B.; three daughters, Susan Lynn Huff- Snyder of Dunedin, Mary Elizabeth Terrell of Decatur, Ga., and Barbara Lee Uhl of Solon, Ohio; a brother, Robert M. of Charlottesville, Va.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. CARL J. INGRAHAM, 79, of St. Petersburg died Friday at Shore Acres Nursing Center. A native of Key West, he moved to this area in 1989. He was a chef, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 28, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3211 and Moose Lodge 583, all of Key West, and was Catholic. He is survived by his wife, Betty E.; four sons, Carl Jr. of Austin, Texas , Charles L. of Key West and Lionell S. and Allen F., both of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Iris Cerventes of Deltona and Linda A. J. PATRICIA MENDELSON, 58, of Palm Harbor died Saturday at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs. She moved to this area four years ago from Columbus, Ohio. She was a secretary with the East Lake Women's Club and a member of the Ohio State Alumni Club. She is survived by her son, John Jacob of Shaker Heights, Ohio; a daughter, Jennifer A. LAURA LYNN NEWMAN, 19, of St. Petersburg died as the result of injuries from a motorcycle accident Thursday at Bayfront Medical Center. She was a native of St. Petersburg. She attended St. Petersburg High School, where she played clarinet in the band and wind ensemble, was a former softball player with Northeast Little League, and was a member of North East Park Baptist Church. She is survived by her parents, John T. Sr. and Nancy L. of St. Petersburg; a sister, Beth Ann of St. Petersburg; a brother, John T. Jr. of St. Petersburg; her paternal grandmother, Beula of Kenneth City; and her maternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Matthews of St. Petersburg. MARY FRANCES WILLIS PELLETIER, 64, of St. Petersburg died Thursday at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. She was a native of St. Petersburg. She was an EKG technician at Palms of Pasadena for 10 years, helped establish the Lay Diabetes Society, formerly worked at Webb's City and was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg. FRANKLIN A. SPOTTS, 80, of Dunedin died Friday at Manor Care Nursing Center. A native of Lebanon, Pa., he moved to this area 13 years ago from Dillsburg, Pa. He was a retired superintendent in the heavy construction industry, an Army veteran of World War II and a past grand knight with the 32nd Degree Mason Mount Olivet Lodge 704 F&AM in Lebanon. EARL L. WILLS, 74, of Oldsmar died Friday at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor. A native of Sonyea, N.Y., he moved to this area in 1983 from Rochester, N.Y. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, employed with the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years in Rochester, and was a member of the World Circle of Language, the Moose and the American Legion. He is survived by a daughter, Cassie DiOrio of Oldsmar; three sons, Robert of Atlanta, David of Rochester and Jon of Fredricksburg, Va.; a sister, Doris Wills Regone of Binghamton, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; two great- granddaughters; and a companion, Lucia Forcone of Oldsmar.
