WILLIAM MYERS "WHIPPER" DOHERTY, 66, of Oldsmar died Tuesday in Oldsmar. He moved to this area in 1986 from his native Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Saratoga, N.Y., employed at the Saratoga Harness Track, and at East Lake Woodlands Country Club, an Army veteran of the Korean War, ,honorary member of Saratoga Italian-American Club and a member of Saratoga Elks, Saratoga Veterans of Foreign Wars and Community Church of the Nazarene in Tarpon Springs. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; six sons, William, Mark and Karl, all of Florida, and William R., Patrick and Sean, all of New York; three daughters, Michelle, Susannah and Christine, all of New York; and three grandchildren. RALPH G. GJERMO, 53, of Dunedin died Wednesday at Columbia Clearwater Community Hospital. He moved to this area in 1994 from his native Chicago. He was owner/operator of a machine grinding company and Protestant. FRIEDA VOGT GRAHN, 93, of Palm Harbor died Sunday at home. A native of Brownville, N.Y., she moved to this area in 1964 from Watertown, N.Y. MARIE JELLINEK, 81, of Clearwater died Oct. 30 at home. A native of Toronto, she moved to this area in 1981 from Stratford, Conn. She was a homemaker, a member of Buffalo Club and Catholic. HERBERT J. LAMELA, 75, of Clearwater died Tuesday at home. He moved to this area in 1979 from his native New York City. He was a retired owner/operator of coin operated laundries, an Army veteran of World War II, and a Purple Heart recipient, a former Masone, a member of the Italian American Club and Catholic. He is survived by three stepsons, Thomas Sorrentino of New York City, Ciro of Monroe, N.Y., and Patrick of Tarpon Springs; two brothers, Henry Moreno of Raleigh, N.C., and Charles More of Westport, Conn.; a sister, Minnie Taylor of Hudgins, Va.; a granddaughter; eight stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. GLADYS M. LEWIS, 79, of Largo died Wednesday at Mariner Health of Clearwater. A native of Clintonville, Wis., she moved to this area in 1961 from Thorn Hill, Ontario. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; three sons, Brian of Seminole, Kim of Montgomery, Ala., and Scott of Bloomington, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
