Danny Alan Sherrod, 24, of Sneads died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at Jackson Hospital.
The funeral will be held today, Wednesday, August 6, at 3 p.m. at Cypress Community church with the Rev. Jerry Mears officiating. Burial will be in Pope Cemetery
with James and Sikes Funeral Home, Sneads Chapel directing.
S.H. Shackelford, "Mr. Shack," died Tuesday, August 5, 2003, in Chipley.
He was born in Prentiss, Miss. He retired from Danley's Furniture in Marianna and was a life member of the DAV in Jackson County.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie and Danny and their families; and special friends, Mildred Woolley and Lisa Simmons and her family.
Friends will be received at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, August 8. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:45 a.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery
in Pensacola with Navy honors.

Irma Lupo Stone Morse, 71, of Marianna died Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at her residence.
She was born in White City but lived most of her life in Jackson County. She was a 1950 graduate of Marianna High School where she served as class secretary. She was a member of the Lady Elks where she served as past president and was voted Lady Elk of the year. She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she served as a vestry member, treasurer, and member of the choir. She enjoyed bowling and was a league member for many years. She was owner of Peacock Motor Co. for a number of years and employed with Hopkins Pontiac-Olds for the past 24 years. She loved her family, friends and her monthly luncheons with her local high school classmates.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.H. Stone; her parents, Jewel and Corrie Dykes Lupo; her brother, L.J. Lupo; her nephew, Larry Lupo; and her son-in-law, Bill Appleton.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gene A. Morse; three daughters, Theresa McKeithan and her husband, Lynn, Susan Lockey and her husband, Chuck, all of Marianna, and Jo Ann Appleton of Augusta, Ga.; three stepsons, Steven Morse and his wife, Stacey of Dallas, Texas , Cameron Morse and his wife, Karen of Tallahassee, and Randall Morse and his wife, Wanda of Palm Bay; ten grandchildren, Amanda McKeithan of Smyrna, Ga., Lee McKeithan of Auburn, Ala., Charlie Lockey of Tallahassee, Anna Lockey of Marianna, Melissa Appleton of Auburn, Ala., Scott Appleton of Augusta, Ga., Jessica and Janeen Morse, both of Palm Bay, and Taylor and Hunter Morse, both of Dallas, Texas ; seven sisters, Aline Blanchard and her husband, Frank, Estelle Zubriski and her husband, Leo, all of Pensacola, Mozelle Newsome and her husband, Roy of Marianna, Margie Fletcher and her husband, George, Murlene Vice and her husband, Cal, all of Tallahassee, Gladys Stephens and her husband, James of Chipley, and Delvena Hutchison and her husband, Randall of Fairburn, Ga.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Morse; sister-in-law, Toi Morse; and a special friend, Louise Pumphrey.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. CDST Friday, August 8, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Marianna with Fr. Larry McMahan officiating. Burial will be later in Riverside Cemetery

Peggy Sloughter, 76, of Kennewick died Saturday, August 9, 2003, at Kennewick General Hospital.
She was born November 10, 1926 in Milford, Mich. to Josie and Samuel Croft.
She was raised in Michigan and married I.E. "Jim" Sloughter on February 15, 1947. Later that year they moved to Coulee Dam, Wash. where their three sons were born and raised. She was very active in her sons' activities serving as a den mother, Sunday school teacher, PTA member, room mother, etc.
In 1968, Peggy and her family moved to Hot Springs, Mont. where they resided until 1979. They then retired and moved back to Wixom, Mich. and lived in the house Peggy's dad had built many years earlier. They enjoyed many years of retirement in Michigan gardening, renewing old friendships and wintering in Florida. In 1983, they moved to Florida and built their retirement home among the five acres of pine trees they planted on the property.
In July 2002, Peggy's husband of 55 years passed away, shortly after she moved to the Tri-Cities to be nearer to her family. She moved into the Royal Columbian Retirement Inn in November and immediately won the hearts of the residents as well as the staff with her friendly and caring personality. Her table in the dining room quickly became known as "the fun table."
We were so blessed to have her here this past year. She was a wonderful, loving grandma, her door was always open, her fridge was always full, the Nintendo was always available, the Mariners were usually on TV, the grandkids were invited to spend the night, and most important, she was always ready to visit and brighten our days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sloughter, and her brothers, Stan and Lloyd Croft.
She is survived by her three sons, Jim and his wife, Bernadette and their children, McLean, Janson and his wife, Pam, Kalin and Braden; Tim and his wife, Laura, and their children, Kyle and his wife, Emily, Sara and her husband, Eric, and David; and Dan and his wife, Anne, and their children, Maria, Elizabeth, Matthew, Tristan and Trevor. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Airiana and Sophia.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, at 11 a.m. at Einan's Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, Wash.

Norman Edgar "Ed" Fenn Jr. Ph.D., 72, who had retired as Bureau Chief for Veterans Training with the Department of Veterans Affairs, died suddenly Monday, August 11, 2003.
He was born in Savannah, Ga. on July 16, 1931. He was the only child of Neva and Norman Fenn. He joined the Navy and served two years during the Korean War. After discharge, he attended Florida State University and received a bachelor's degree in business. At FSU, he met his first wife of 34 years, Delano Driver of Clearwater. Ed and Delano had four daughters and lived in Sarasota for two years prior to permanently residing in Tallahassee. He later received his masters degree in industrial arts and his doctorate of philosophy in adult education. Ed and Delano raised their four daughters in Tallahassee and saw each daughter receive a bachelors degree from FSU. His first wife, Delano, passed away in 1991. He married Clyde Pender of Marianna in June of 1993. In 1976, he was elected and served four years as the Superintendent of Schools for Leon County. He was an active member of Sigma Nu, a Mason, and a member of Springtime Tallahassee 20th Century Krewe. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener, boatsman and woodcrafter.
He is survived by his wife, Clyde Powell Pender Fenn; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Janet Fenn, Shannon and Billy Hughes, Jennifer and John Brau, Stacy and Aaron Ward; two granddaughters, Savannah Fenn Hughes and Delano Ann Hughes; two step-sons and one step-daughter-in-law, Bryant Pender, and Marcus and Melody Pender; one step-granddaughter, Cianna Pender; and three step-grandsons, Beau Pender, Chance Pender and Will Brau.
The family will always remember him as a loving and devoted husband, father, friend and as the greatest man they ever knew. He is deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 14, at 2 p.m. EDT at Trinity Methodist Church.

Elsie Rich England, 71, of Climax, Ga., died Saturday, August 16, 2003, at her residence in Climax, Ga.
She was born August 7, 1932 in Decatur County, Ga., the daughter of Ralph Rich and Ommie Ritter Rich. She was a bookkeeper and a volunteer for Big Bend Hospice. She was a member of Climax Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, W.T. England of Climax, Ga.; three sons, Billy Hunt of Grand Ridge, Tom Hunt of Tallahassee, and W.T. England Jr. of Arcadia; three daughters, Mona Lisa Key of Arcadia, LaDonna Fay Thyng of Ocala, and Emily Lee England of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Myrtle McLeod of Thomaston, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jean (Emogene) Wilson Olsen died Sunday, August 17, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born November 14, 1926 in Johnson County, Ark. She made her way west to Seattle where she was employed at Boeing Aircraft as a welder during World War II. She loved experiencing new places and things, living on both coasts and in Hawaii before living in the San Francisco Bay area for 20 years. In the late 1970's she moved to Jackson County.
She loved walking through Marianna, admiring the beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed sharing her cooking and making wonderful things grow in her yard. Her faith and hope in Jesus Christ sustained her during her life and through her illness.
She is survived by three daughters, Janice Tolar of Milton, Wash., Shirley Rietz and her husband, Will of Tocoma, Wash. and Gail Shouppe and her husband, Greg of Cottondale; one sister, Ardith Mendenhall of Ft. Payne, Ala.; three brothers, James Wilson of Montesano, Wash., Fred Wilson of Mabelvale, Ark., and Charles Wilson of Marshall, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private burial was held Monday, August 18, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

William R. Keyte, 94, of Alford died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at his residence.
He was a resident of Jackson County for the past 20 years. He was a retired Air Force CWO W3 and a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Marianna.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilla Keyte in 1993.
He is survived by one son, Michael Keyte of Ft. Lauderdale and one daughter, Susan Groves of Menlo Park, Calif.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. CDT today, Tuesday, August 19, at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna with the Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with full military honors given by the US Air Force. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct.
