She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Wallace; two daughters, Myrtle Martin of Tampa and Barbara Crutcher of Dade City; and four grandchildren. CATHERINE PURUCKER, 72, of Port Richey died Wednesday at Bayshore Memorial Hospital in Holmdale, N.J. A native of Weehawken, N.J., she moved to this area 15 years ago from Branchville, N.J. She was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church and Embassy Hills Civic Association, both in Port Richey. She is survived by two daughters, Eileen Slater of Leonardo, N.J., and Lorraine Gebhardt of Belford, N.J.; four sisters, Stella Schwarz of Sussex, N.J., Jane Bradley of Frankfurt, N.J., Victoria Stanton of Union City, N.J., and Helen Gardner of Weehawken; eight grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. JOHNNY LEE ROBERTS, 56, of Tampa died Nov. 6 at a local hospital. A lifetime resident of Tampa, he was a retired laborer for the Tampa Parks Department and member of St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Bertha A. JEAN M. SAKELLARIS, 94, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Nov. 8 at home. A native of Haynes, Iowa, she was a seamstress for a drapery manufacturer and Lutheran. She is survived by four sons, Harry of Spartanburg, Warren of Tampa, Edward of San Antonio and Kenneth of Fayetteville, N.C.; and two daughters, Eva Sweet of Lakeland and Deanna Dempsey of Tampa. ADRIEN E. SMITH, 70, of Tampa died Thursday. A native of Chiefland, he was a longtime resident of Tampa. He was a warehouse manager, Protestant and a Navy veteran of World War II. RUSSELL L. SPILLMAN Sr., 84, of New Port Richey died Wednesday at Tarpon Bayou Center in Tarpon Springs. A native of Nettleton, Ark., he moved to this area 19 years ago from Lewes, Del. He was a retired Army ordnance officer and veteran of World War II and the Korean War, retired supervisor of the Cape Henlopen Army Reserve Center, and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Chester McKay Post 7987, both in New Port Richey, and the Columbus Masonic Lodge 579 in Fort Benning, Ga. He is survived by a son, Russell "Rusty" Jr. of New Port Richey; four daughters, Doris Robertson of Key West, Pamela Basalay of Delta, Pa., Tina Littleton of Columbia City, Ind., and Barbara of Flint, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchldren. AMOS E. ALLEN, 75, of Auburndale died Wednesday at home. A native of New Salem, Mass., he moved from Alturas to Auburndale in 1957. He was a retired truck driver for Roberts Brothers in Winter Haven, Baptist and an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by two sons, Larry of Auburndale and John Wayne of Wahneta; three daughters, Rose Marie of Auburndale, Carolyn Lee Cobb of Winter Haven and Hope Hoebrook of Zephyrhills; two brothers, Robert of Massachusetts and Ethan of New York; three sisters, Alice Oja of Massachusetts, Mary Ducette of Vermont and Mildred Nuknon of Connecticut; and four grandchildren. EDNA CONSTANCE BLANTON, 64, of Lakeland died Wednesday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A native of Brighton, England, she came to this area from Springfield, Ohio, 20 years ago and worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Victory Assembly of God. She is survived by a daughter, Melinda Foerman of Naples, Italy; three sons, Randall L. Weaver of Piqua, Ohio, Gregory M. Weaver of Troy, Ohio, and Ray E. MARTIN R. BROWN JR., 72, of Winter Haven died Wednesday at home. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to this area six years ago from Potsdam, N.Y., where he retired as a professor of civil engineering at Clarkson University. JOHN W. COTTINGHAM JR., 79, of North Fort Myers died Sept. 16 at home. He moved to North Fort Myers several years ago from Lakeland. He retired after 57 years as an optician in Lakeland and Greenville, S.C., and was a World War II veteran, past commandant of the Fort Myers Marine Corps League and member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland for more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Hazle M.; a daughter, Marjorie Joan Marlar of North Fort Myers; a brother, Paul F. of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, his twin, Elizabeth Hard of Ravenel, S.C., and Ruth Mead of Omaha; and several nephews and nieces. GRACE L. HUEGELE, 54, of Haines City died Wednesday at Winter Haven Hospital. A native of Dumbarton, Scotland, she came to Polk County in 1992 from Fort Lauderdale and worked as a bookkeeper for Cromer Printing Co. She was Presbyterian.
