DOROTHY DODD, "Dolly", 80, longtime resident and civic activist died Friday. She was a native of Georgia and moved to Tampa in 1919. She was employed as an executive secretary. In 1969, Dodd was named Florida's Beta Sigma Phi Girl of the Year. She was currently serving as president of the sorority's Lambda Master Chapter. In addition, she was active in the Tampa Woman's Club, League of Women Voters, Florida Area Agency on Aging, Florida State Association of Parliamentarians, Tampa Bay Toastmistresses and the American Red Cross. She served as past president of both the Florida Silver-Haired Legislature and International Training in Communication. She began club work through her church and became active in more clubs when her children started school and she joined PTA. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tampa.
