SYLVIA "SALLY" S. COOK, 79, of Lakeland died Thursday at her home. She was a native of Blue Hill, Neb., and moved to Lakeland eight years ago from Salt Lake City. She was a private duty nurse and dietitian and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Illa Laird of Meeker, Okla.; a brother, John Frederick Stabenow of Hastings, Neb.; a daughter, Sharon "Sherrie" Wheeler of Lakeland; a friend, Michael Squires of Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. MARIE B. DOUGLASS, 86, of Lake Wales died Friday at Winter Haven Hospital. She was a native of New York City, and moved to Lake Wales 28 years ago from Cambria Heights, N.Y. She was a former resident of Fedhaven, a homemaker and Lutheran. She is survived by her son, Richard D. Fauteck of West Bloomfield, Mich.; a stepson, Herbert "Lon" of Hackettstown, N.J.; and two granddaughters. Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.

GODWIN A. EAGLETON, 85, of Lake Wales died Friday at Lake Wales Medical Center. He was a native of Strausburg, Pa., and moved to this area 15 years ago from Pittsburgh. He was a retired civil engineer for Alcoa, Episcopalian, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Sandra of West Hampton, Mass., and Martha Ann Begalla of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a brother, John of Beverly Hills). JAMES EDWARD MURPHY, 80, of Lakeland died Sunday at Highlands Lake Center. He was a native of Battle Creek, Mich., and moved to this are from Sarasota and Battle Creek 29 years ago. He was an export manager for Clark Equipment in Battle Creek. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Battle Creek and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. He is survived by his wife, Jennette) Parker; a son, Patrick James of Lakeland; a daughter, Kathleen M. Weller of West Lafayette, Ind.; and two grandchildren. Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland.

VAUN NATHANIEL NICHOLS, 70, of Richland died Friday at home. He was a lifelong resident of Richland. He was a retired superintendent for the citrus industry. He was a World War II Merchant Marines veteran and a member of the Richland Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Amelia; two sons, Mark and Shawn, both of Zephyrhills; a daughter, Judy Jackson of Richland; three brothers, Joe of Lacoochee, Samuel of Jonesboro, Ark., and Edward of Richland; two sisters, Viola Cruser of Lakeland and Irene Bush of Auburndale; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. GAETANA PERRONE, 92, of Tampa died Monday at Transitional Hospital. A native of Italy, he moved to Tampa in 1944 from there. He was a cigar maker for City Cigar Factor and Catholic. W. PERRIN SAMPSON, 91, of Bartow died Friday at home. A native of Corning, Mo., he moved to Bartow from Tallahassee in 1985. He was a recruiting coordinator for the Florida Department of Commerce, a former college professor and high school teacher, and a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Pi Omega Pi. He is survived by a son, Walter E. of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Eleanor J. Bridell of Bartow; three brothers, Harvey of Quartzsite, Ariz., Irving O. GERTRUDE H. BROWNE, 90, of Dunedin died Saturday in Quail Hollow. A native of Roxbury, Mass., she moved to Dunedin in 1954 from Canada. She was a homemaker and Jehovah's Witness of Lutz Kingdom Hall. DARRELL "SLIM" McKINNISS, 65, of Tarpon Springs died Friday at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital. A native of Hawks, Ohio, he moved to this area in 1962 from Marion, Ohio. ROBERT E. SHEAHAN, 76, of Largo died Wednesday at home. A native of Rockport, Mass., he moved to this area in 1981. He was a retired manager with New England Telephone and Telegraph Co., Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, past president and four- time golf champion at Rockport Golf Club, member of American Legion Post 98 in Rockport, Veterans of Foreign Wars 8609, the Tides Golf Club in Seminole and Catholic. WILLIAM G. STOLARCEK of Dover died Friday at home under the care of Hospice of Hillsborough. A native of Wyandotte, Mich., he was a longtime resident of thea area. He was a retired Army colonel, serving tours in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf War, and Presbyterian. CAROL "CHICKIE" LALA AGLIANO, 57, of Tampa died Saturday at home under the care of Hospice. A native of Jersey City, N.J., she was a longtime resident of the Tampa area.
