Graveside funeral services for Frank Donald Dyer Sr., 81, of 3308 W. 15th St., Panama City, who died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in a local hospital, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Norman Carr and the Rev. Edward Britton officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to St. Andrew United Methodist Church or your favorite charity in memory of Frank Dyer.

MARJORIE J. HOWARD
Mrs. Marjorie J. Howard, 84, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Monday morning, Aug. 30, 1999, in a local hospital. Born is Webster County, Ga., she moved here in 1943 from Georgia. She was a switchboard operator for Sears Roebuck Company and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lynn Haven where she was a member of Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm M. Howard; three sisters: Agnes K. Mixon, Ruth K. Taylor and Iris K. Covington; two brothers: Elliott F. King and Ray King. She is survived by one brother, David King of Arizona; one sister, Mary K. Bennet of Alpharetta, Ga.; brother-in-law, Edward Covington of Hartwell, Ga.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. in Smith-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearer will be all retirees of Sears Roebuck Co. and members of Friendship Sunday Class. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The family would like to to express a special thanks to Dr. W. Gregory Bruce, Dr. Vickie Harrell, Dr. Jay Beiswanger, Gulf Coast Medical Center staff of 2nd Floor South and the Intensive Care Unit.

Mrs. Rose Evelyn Howard, age 91, of Clarksville, Fla. and a former resident of Panama City, Fla. died Sunday night Aug. 29, 1999. Mrs. Howard was born in Hopewell Center N.Y. and had lived in Clarksville since 1996. She was a homemaker and was a member of the United Presbyterian Baptist Church in Canandaigua, N.Y. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter in Canandaigua, a member of Geneva White Shrine of Jerusalem and a 50 year member of Hopewell Grange. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald James Howard; a son, David Eugene Howard and a sister, Mrs. John R. Means. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Dottie Howard of Clarksville; two grandchildren: Angela Vana Howard and Matthew John Daniel Howard; and one great grandchild, David Alex Howard. Funeral services for Mrs. Howard will be this evening, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. CDT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Vickery officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. EDT at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canadaigua, N.Y.

Funeral services for Mrs. Verlon Hicks Rowell, age 76, of 335 W. 35th Court, Panama City, Fla., who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, will be held 10 a.m. today, Sept. 1 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Reid Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Sept. 1 from 9 to 10 a.m., an hour before service time.

PAULINE ZACHER
Pauline Zacher died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at her residence. She was born in 1920 in Akron, Ohio, the loving daughter of Clarence and Lucy Doble; loving sister of Delbert, Violette, Katherine, Charlotte and Nona; loving mother and life teacher of Judy Keil and husband David, David Zacher and wife Beverly, Daniel Zacher, Gary Zacher, Arlene Zacher and husband Bob Gilmore, Becky Zacher Oberst and husband Tim and Lenny Zacher Jr. She was a loving grandma and life teacher to 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pauline lived with her son, Lenny Zacher, in Panama City Beach, moving here from Richfield, Ohio in 1987. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999.

Mrs. Mildred Juanita Bordeaux, age 77, of 129 W. Leslie Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., formerly of Elizabethtown, N.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 1999, at a local hospital. She was a member of Faith Christian Family Church of Panama City Beach. Mrs. Bordeaux is survived by her husband, Toribio A. Alvarez of Panama City Beach, Fla.; three sons: Robert Bordeaux of Baton Rouge, La., Mack Bordeaux of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Milton Bordeaux of Panama City, Fla.; her mother, Bessie Ivey of Wilmington, N.C.; sisters: Janet Turbeville of Wilmington, N.C. and Salema Simmons of Southport, N.C.; brother, Olin Ivey of Southport, N.C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept 11, in Elizabethtown, N.C.

JAMES B. CARLISLE JR.
Lt. Col James B. Carlisle Jr. (Ret. U.S. Army), 68 of 108 Hombre Circle, Panama City Beach died Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, 1999, in a local hospital. Born in Jackson, Miss., he moved here in 1974. He was a retired Lt. Colonel serving in the U.S. Army and completed two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. Lt. Carlisle is survived by his wife, Rosemary Carlisle of Panama City Beach; two sons, Jeff Carlisle of Dickson, Calif., and James B. Carlisle III of Panama City Beach; one daughter, Debra Childree of Warner Robins, Ga.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted today, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home with Mr. Steve Southerland II officiating.

Mrs. Gertrude B. Hill, 92, of Detroit, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in Detroit. She was a former resident of Panama City. She was formerly a member of the Church of God in Christ in Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Johnny Hill, and two sons, Watson and Jack Austin. She is survived by two daughters, Willie Lee Allen (John) of Merritt Island, Fla., and Idella Craft (Willie) of Detroit; 10 grandchildren: Michael Cron (Lori) of San Angelo, Texas , Greg and Sophia Cross, both of Detroit, Lois Spencer (George), Stella Baker, John Allen Jr. (Joy), Fred Allen, Jerry Allen and Ronald Allen, all of Merritt Island, and Anthony Austin of San Diego, Calif.; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Hill (Catherine) of Panama City and Charlie Hill (Ora Mae) of Wewahitchka; two sister-in-law, Josphine Hill of Panama City and Mattie Mae Hill of Wewahitchka; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Hill will be Friday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in St. John Freewill Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with Dr. Willie E. Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery in Wewahitchka. The body will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. to time of service. The family will receive relatives and friends at 1619 E. Ninth Court in Panama City and 200 Hill Circle in Wewahitchka.

BENJAMIN HENRY KIRKLAND
Mr. Benjamin Henry Kirkland, age 89, of 337 College Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at a local nursing home. He was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, former choir member, and taught a men's bible class. Mr. Kirkland was a Panama City Commissioner for 12 years, from 1962-1974. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Kirkland of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters: Carolyn Clagett and her husband Dick and Marilyn Butler and her husband Bud, all of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Dr. Frederick Kirkland and his wife Sandra of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Robin Dayton of Panama City, Fla., Dennis Clagett of Klamath Falls, Ore., Cliff Butler, Andrew Clagett, and Kevin Clagett all of Panama City, Fla., Brett Kirkland of Gainesville, Fla., and Laquita Kirkland of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters: Lelah Chestnut and Lillie Bedsole, both of Panama City, Fla.; a special friend and brother-in-law, Adolph Bedsole of Panama City, Fla.; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 3 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Johnson and the Rev. Adolph Bedsole officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mr. Kirkland grandsons: Cliff Butler, Andrew Clagett, Kevin Clagett, Bobby Kirkland, Marlon Kirkland, and Prichard Cutshaw. CAROLYN DIANN RYAN
Mrs. Carolyn Diann Ryan, age 50, of 201 Hugh Thomas Dr., Callaway, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999 at a local hospital. She had been a life-long resident of the area and was a member of Callaway Assembly of God Church. She was the first lady police officer on the road in Bay County and was most recently employed as manager by Po Folks in Callaway. She was also a cheerleader sponsor for the Callaway Rebels for four years, 1994-1998, worked for the City of Callaway for four years, and was the coach and president of the Eastside Girls Softball League of Callaway for five years. Mrs. Ryan is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Ryan of Callaway, Fla.; daughters: Tammy Michelle McCormick Harrison of Caryville, Fla., Samantha Dianne McCormick Eilf of Ft. Meyers, Fla., and Patricia Jo Ryan of Callaway, Fla.; sons: Sean Patrick Ryan of Callaway, Fla. and Kenneth Patrick Thompson of New York City, N.Y.; sisters and brother: Virginia P. Graham and Edna M. Myers, both of Panama City, Fla., William David Penton of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Sherry Price of Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 3 at Callaway Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bobby Thompson, the Rev. J. W. Hunt, the Rev. Jim Kirkland, and the Rev. Tillman Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers: Tommy Sims, Lt.
