Baby Jamey Rachael Scott of Panama City Beach, died Aug. 31, 1999, in a local hospital. Jamey is survived by her parents, Ray and Kim Scott of Panama City Beach; paternal grandmother, Ivy Scott of Chipley; maternal grandmother, Marlene Williams of Panama City; maternal grandfather, Leo Kuczenski of Panama City; two sisters: Sally Scott and Sarah Scott both of Panama City Beach; two uncles: Gene Scott of Chipley and Frederick Scott of Palm Beach; three aunts: Dianne Tuzinkiewicz of Panama City, Sharon Scott of Chipley and Cindy Williams of Panama City and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Freddie Scott and maternal grandfather, Leroy Williams. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories.

PAULINE ZACHER
Pauline Zacher died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at her residence. She was born in 1920 in Akron, Ohio, the loving daughter of Clarence and Lucy Doble; loving sister of Delbert, Violette, Katherine, Charlotte and Nona; loving mother and life teacher of Judy Keil and husband David, David Zacher and wife Beverly, Daniel Zacher, Gary Zacher, Arlene Zacher and husband Bob Gilmore, Becky Zacher Oberst and husband Tim and Lenny Zacher Jr. She was a loving grandma and life teacher to 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pauline lived with her son, Lenny Zacher, in Panama City Beach, moving here from Richfield, Ohio in 1987. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held on today, Sept. 2, 1999 in Fairlawn, Ohio with Billows Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Ann Lell Garrett, 71, of Greenhead, Gla., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in a local nursing home. Born in Enterprise, Ala., she had been a longtime resident of this area. She was retired from Capt. Anderson's Restaurant after 23 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vernon. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at 10 a.m. in the Smith-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Pate officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

BENJAMIN HENRY KIRKLAND
Mr. Benjamin Henry Kirkland, 89, of 337 College Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at a local nursing home. He was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, former choir member and taught a men's bible class. Mr. Kirkland was the owner of Kirkland's Laundry for 30 years and was a Panama City commissioner for 12 years, from 1963-1975. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude Kirkland of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn Clagett and her husband Dick and Marilyn Butler and her husband Bud, all of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Dr. Frederick Kirkland and his wife Sandra of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Robin Dayton of Panama City, Fla., Dennis Clagett of Klamath Falls, Ore., Cliff Butler, Andrew Clagett, and Kevin Clagett all of Panama City, Fla., Brett Kirkland of Gainesville, Fla., and Laquita Kirkland of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Lelah Chestnut and Lillie Bedsole, both of Panama City, Fla.; a special friend and brother-in-law: Adolph Bedsole of Panama City, Fla.; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 3, 1999, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Brother Bob Johnson and Rev. Adolph Bedsole officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mr. Kirkland's grandsons: Cliff Butler, Andrew Clagett, and Kevin Clagett; and his nephews: Bobby Kirkland, Marlon Kirkland, and Prichard Cutshaw. Honorary pallbearers will include: Adult 5 Sunday School Department at Immanuel Baptist Church. If you wish contributions may be made to the Renovation Fund at Immanuel Baptist Church, 216 College Ave., Panama City, Fla., 32401.

Mrs. Gertrude B. Hill, 92, of Detroit, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in Detroit. She was a former resident of Panama City. Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be today, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in St. John Freewill Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with Dr. Willie E. Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery in Wewahitchka. The body will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. to time of service. The family will receive relatives and friends at 1619 E. Ninth Court in Panama City and 200 Hill Circle in Wewahitchka.

Mr. Woodrow "Woodie" Wilson Templeton, 87, of 136 N. Fifth Ave., Paden City, W.Va., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at a local nursing home. He has been a resident of the area for two years coming here from Paden City, W.Va. Mr. Templeton served his country in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees from 1943 until 1945 and was Methodist by faith. He is survived by his son Larry Templeton and his wife Nancy of Panama City, Fla.; sisters, Gertrude Scadden and Juinata Tayler, both of St. Marys, W.Va., and Frances Merico of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, Leroy Templeton of St. Mary W.Va.; a grandson, Scott Templeton of Panama City, Fla.; a granddaughter, Lisa Clary and her husband Bruce of Gainesville, Fla.; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at a later date in Paden City, W.Va.

Mr. Richard Alfred Hatton, age 71, of 4713 Alameda St., Callaway, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999 at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1963. Mr. Hatton served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Era. He was also Methodist by faith and a member of AMVETS and the VFW. Mr. Hatton is survived by his children: William L. Hatton, Diana R. Hatton and Gayle Ann Hatton, all of Boise, Idaho; mother of children, Barbara Hatton of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Judy A. Richardson of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, William N. Hatton of Mobile; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Austin E. Hatton. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 4.

Mr. Leo Joseph Guettler Sr., age 96, of Chipley, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. He had been a resident of Chipley since 1963, coming from Fort Pierce, Fla. He was of Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Chipley, Fla. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today, Sept. 4, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Pat Foley officiating. The burial will follow in Wachob Forest Lawn Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home officiating.
