MARJORIE BELL SCHMIDT
Marjorie Bell Schmidt, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999 at a local nursing center. She was born in Council Hill, Okla., lived in a number of states, traveling as a child with her widowed father, her two sisters and stepmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin E. Schmidt, whom she married in Amarillo, Texas , before making a home in Oklahoma City. A devoted wife and loving mother, much of her life also involved helping others as a civic worker. She was a member of many organizations in Oklahoma City, and later in Lawton. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church before retiring to Panama City in 1977. She maintained a life membership in The Ladies Music Club of Oklahoma City. Her charitable spirit and accomplishments resulted in her nomination and inclusion in a number of reference books: The Book of Honor, 2nd edition, published by The American Biographical Institute; Personalities of the South, 9th edition; and several marquis publications. As a final tribute to her kindness, on March 23, 1995, a Lifetime Royal Patronage Medal from the Hutt River Principality was awarded to her under the Seal of Prince Kevin. She is survived by three sons: John H. Schmidt of Silver Springs, Md., Donald I. Schmidt of Santa Barbara, Calif., and D. Michael Schmidt of Panama City, Fla.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 4, in Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Si Mathison officiating.

RICHARD ALFRED HATTON
Mr. Richard Alfred Hatton, 71, of 4713 Alameda St., Callaway, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999 at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1963. Mr. Hatton served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was also Methodist by faith and a member of AMVETS and the VFW. Mr. Hatton is survived by his children: William L. Hatton, Diana R. Hatton and Gayle Ann Hatton, all of Boise, Idaho; mother of children, Barbara Hatton of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Judy A. Richardson of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, William N. Hatton of Mobile, Ala. and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Austin E. Hatton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 5, 1999 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

HIRAM M. OWENS
Mr. Hiram M. Owens, 78, of Vernon, passed from this life on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital. Mr. Owens was a Protestant by faith and attended Vernon Evangelistic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Zina Owens of Vernon; one son, Raymond Owens of Vernon; two daughters, Sonya Thomas and her husband R.C. of Freeport, and Nell Reynolds and her husband Coy of Panama City; two sisters, Ouida Williams of Pensacola and Helen Wray of Jacksonville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 6, 1999 at 3 p.m. in the Vernon Evangelistic Church with the Revs. James White, Willis Hagan and Roy Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Vernon City Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing. The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Mr. Kenneth D. Widmer, 57, of 1704 Gainer Ave., Panama City, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999 at a local hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

NADINE ELIZABETH CARVER
Mrs. Nadine Elizabeth Carver, 73, of Altha, died Saturday in Jackson Hospital in Marianna. Mrs. Carver was born in Washington County and was a member of the Assembly of God faith. Survivors include three sons: Walter and Greg Carver of Altha and Stanley Carver of Chiefland; four daughters: Dianne Mills of Panama City Beach, Barbara Steedley of Ortna, Fla., Betty Barfield of Altha and Gail Carver of Winter Park; two brothers: Lindell McClain of Altha and Collivee McClain of Apalachicola; three sisters: Lorine Clements of Youngstown, Opal Chambers of Apalachicola and Nelmer Hallford of Altha; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Carver Cemetery near Altha with the Rev. Jerry Sapp officiating. Interment will follow.

LUSTY ARTHUR PARKER
Mr. Lusty Arthur Parker, 82, was born to John Thomas and Bertha Hoskins Parker in Cromanton, Fla. He was a longtime resident of Bay County and a member of the Parker Lodge No. 142 and of the Shaddai Temple of Panama City. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, one older brother, and one sister, Ellen Parker Crea. He is survived by his wife, Myrtice Morgan Parker of Panama City; one daughter, Grace Parker Daniel and husband Bill of Helena, Ala.; one son, James Thomas Parker and wife Sharon of Montclair, Va.; one brother, Elmer Kenneth Parker and wife Mary Ann of Panama City; three grandsons: Ryan Parker, Bryan Daniel and Nicholas Daniel; four granddaughters: Caitlin Parker, Brooke Parker, Sharee Daniel Green and husband Will, and Ashley Daniel; one brother-in-law, Joseph Crea; three nephews and three cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the Parker United Methodist church. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parker United Methodist Church building fund.

Mr. Walter Lee Wade, 97, of 3913 Genoa Circle, Panama City, died at a local hospital. Mr. Wade is survived by his daughters: Mrs. Christine Conley of Thomaston, Ga., Mrs. Wanda Osbolt of Panama City, and Mrs. Jackie Celuska of Panama City; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Crossman of White Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 6, 1999, at Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southview Cemetery. KENNETH DEAN WIDMER
Mr. Kenneth Dean Widmer, 57, of 1704 Gainer Ave., Panama City, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, in a local hospital. Mr. Widmer was a member of the Central Assembly of God, was a supervisor with Lockheed-Martin and had served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years. He was retired from the Florida National Guard. Mr. Widmer is survived by his wife, Sheila Widmer of Panama City; one daughter, Kimberly W. Thomes and her husband Christopher of Panama City; granddaughter, Reilly Elizabeth Thomes of Panama City; sister, Mrs. Wilma Schwartz of Spokane, Wash.; brother, Mr. Eldon Widmer of Moses Lake, Wash.; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Arlene "Dena" Steeley of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at the Central Assembly of God with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mr. Rocky Ferguson, Mr. George Windsor, Mr. Michael Peters, Mr. Stephen Peters, Mr. Donnie Porter and Mr. Dwight Curenton. Honorary pallbearers will be all past and present deacons of Central Assembly of God, Mr. Jerry Anderson, Mr. James Barr, Mr. Billy Blount, Mr. Rodney LeFebvre, Mr. T.K. Johnson, all the men of Central Assembly of God, and fellow workers of Lockheed-Martin.

Mr. William Tuttle Loeffler I, 71, of 127 Serenade Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, in a local hospital. Mr. Loeffler had been a resident of Bay County since 1997 coming here from Atlanta, Ga. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers. Mr. Loeffler I is survived by his wife: Mrs. Rita Loeffler of Panama City, Fla.; daughters: Joan M. Brausch and her husband David of Midland, Mich., Roberta L. Geiger and her husband Richard, Elizabeth A. Loeffler and Virginia A. Gonzalez and her husband Carlos all of Atlanta; sons: William T. Loeffler II and his wife Kim of Atlanta, Michael J. Loeffler and his wife Michele of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Patrick F Loeffler of Atlanta; 11 grandchildren; and brothers: John T. Loeffler and James R. Loeffler both of Minneapolis, Minn. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father Carl Bagge officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 7.
