Funeral service for Mae T. Carter, 1503 Grant Ave., who returned to her heavenly Father on Sept. 11, 1999, will be held today at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Graveside service will be held Tuesday at noon in the Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Ala. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Noah's Ark Beach Ministry.

SHIRLEY ANNE VANSANT
Mrs. Shirley Anne Vansant, 58, of 5401 Arrowhead Blvd., Youngstown, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at her home. Mrs. Vansant had been a resident of Bay County for 20 years and was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Vansant is survived by her husband, Mr. Larry L. Vansant of Youngstown; a daughter, Leann J. Vansant of Youngstown; a brother, Mr. Charles Mawyer and wife Maydine of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Moyer and husband Jasper of Virginia.; a foster mother, Mrs. Geneva McCulley of Jonesboro, Ga.; a foster sister, Mrs. Helen Barton of Jonesboro; and a foster brother, Mr. Cecil McCulley of Snellville, Ga. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Pickerill officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mr. Travis Burkett, Mr. Don Vansant, Mr. David Vansant and Mr. Jeff Guill. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Bay Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

JAMES A. 'JIM' DOSS
Mr. James A. "Jim" Doss, age 66, of 1204 Emory Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999 at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1962, coming here from Attapulgus, Ga., and was a member of Forest Park Methodist Church. Mr. Doss was a retired supervisor for AraMark Uniform Co., he worked in the Industry for a total of 35 years. He also owned and operated Mac Tools for 10 years. Mr. Doss served his country from 1952 until 1956 in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and served on the U.S.S. John A. Bole as a radioman. He loved his work, cars, and people. His friends were his customers. He was happiest making others happy. Mr. Doss is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janice Doss of Panama City, Fla.; children: Ricky Doss of Lake City, Fla., Vince Doss of Chantilly, Va., Carla Ransdell and her husband Mark of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Chad Doss of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Travis Doss of Augusta, Ga.; and grandchildren: Katharine, Brittany, Hunter, and Ashlin. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 17 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bay Medical Hospice, 2929 Hwy 77,

URSULA C. JOHNSON
Mrs. Ursula C. Johnson, age 65, of 401 Beulah Ave., Callaway, Fla., died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at her residence as the result of an accident. She was a homemaker, worked in the legal profession and in real estate. Mrs. Johnson was born in Leipzig, Germany. After Leipzig fell to the Russians after World War II, she fled with her family to Nuremberg, West Germany. She was a performance dancer and ballerina and toured with the Nuremberg Ballet Co. Mrs. Johnson lived in Africa, then Portugal, and finally immigrated to the United States. She lived and worked in Houston, Texas for many years as a legal Secretary and in 1984 she moved to Birmingham, Ala., where she worked as a real estate agent. In 1988, Mrs. Johnson retired to Panama City with her husband Willard. She became a U.S. citizen four years ago. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed life and loved boating, animals, and nature. She especially enjoyed people and had many special friends. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Willard Johnson of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Billy DeMouche and his wife Leann of Las Cruces, N.M.; daughters, Jeannine C. Holland and her husband Jay of Houston, Texas and Audray U. Lohn and her friend Edward Thames Jr. of Houston, Texas ; a sister, Angelika Schmidt-Lange and her husband Wolfgang and their son, Colin Eddington of Houston, Texas ; grandchildren: Christopher Holland, Andrew Holland, and Matthew Holland, Christine DeMouche and Laura DeMouche; stepson, Bruce Johnson and his wife Julie of Houston, Texas ; stepdaughter, Kimberlee Demel and her husband Dennis of Houston, Texas ; step-grandchildren: T. Bruce Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Denise Demel, and Eric Demel; cousins: Peter Strangfeld and wife Uta and their children Georg and Bernhard of Berlin, Germany, and Heidi Bierey and husband Hans of Leipzig, Germany, and their son, Uwe Bierey and his wife Ines and son Martin; and many dear, special friends. Her ashes will be scattered at sea in a private ceremony. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bay County Humane Society, 1600 Bay Avenue, Panama City, FL.

CLINTON J. MOORE
Clinton J. Moore, 81, of 1703 Chestnut Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999 in his home. He had been a resident of Bay County for 55 years moving here from Holmes County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired fireman at the Naval Coastal Systems Station. Mr. Moore was a member of the DAV, American Legion, Oakland Terrace Men's Club, St. Andrew Baptist Church and the Keystone Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Josephine Moore of Panama City; two sons, Jim Moore and his wife, Tina of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Roland Moore of Panama City; two daughters, Annell Pylant and her husband, Pete, of Port St. Joe, and Melinda Russo and her husband Nat, of San Piedro, Calif.; and nine grandchildren: Scott Moore, Stacy Moore, Stephen Moore, Josh Gilbert, Blake Moore, Ryan Moore, Sara Russo, Kimberly Russo, and Matthew Russo. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Randall Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Bay Medical Center Hospice in memory of Clinton Moore.

HAZEL A. TYUS
Hazel A. Tyus, 72, of Dellwood died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999 in Tallahassee. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She worked as a bookkepper for over 20 years at North West Florida Livestock Market in Marianna. She was a member of Welcome Assembly of God Church in Dellwood where she taught Sunday school for over fifty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.A. and Verlie Alford. She is survived by her husband Thomas J. Tyus of Dellwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Leland Daniels of Dellwood, Tammie and Jamie Sykes of Tallahassee; three brothers: Luther Alford, Hayes Alford and Bobby Alford all of Dellwood; two sisters, Elouise Daniels of Grand Ridge and Geneva Myers of Panama City; four grandchildren: Thomas Tyus Daniels and Phillip Everett Daniels both of Dellwood, Morgan David Sykes and Lyndsey Hazel Sykes both of Tallahassee; extended family, Jennifer Jones of Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. (C.D.T.) at Welcome Assembly of God Church in Dellwood with the Revs. Dewey Myers, Harold Tyus and Dennis Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & James Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maddox Chapel in Marianna.

Mrs. Phyllis J. Hinz, age 82, of 1220 Emory Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1959, coming here from Richmond, Va. Mrs. Hinz was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and dressmaking. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hinz is survived by her husband, Roland Hinz of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Anita Stanley and her husband Wayne of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Marazita of Sanford, Fla.; a brother, Alfred Jones and his wife Rosemary of Richmond, Va.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Spikes and her husband Simon of Panama City, Fla.; two great-grandchildren: Tildon Spikes and Shelby Spikes, both of Panama City, Fla.; and three nieces: Patricia Wurst and her husband John of Tallahassee, Fla., Sherry Marazita of Seattle, Wash., and Faye Elliott and her husband Steve of Greensboro, N.C. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Cathey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Simon Spikes, Rick Jenkins Jr., E.L. Clark, John Wurst, and David Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will include: J. T. Burdeshaw, James F. Mrs. Ruby Dean Price, 61, of Port St. Joe, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, in Gulf Pines Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Enterprise, Ala., she had lived here the past 38 years. Mrs. Price was retired from the Gulf County School Systems, and was a member of the Body of Christ Church. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Price of Port. St. Joe; her children: Lloyd Price of Panama City, Cynthia Moseley of Panama City; Delmonte Price of Port St. Joe, Joseph Price of Port St. Joe, Jabbar Alexander of Port St. Joe, and Bianca Price of Port St. Joe; one brother, Fair Lowe Jr. of St. Petersburg; and one sister, Anne Daniels of St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. EDT on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Body of Christ Church, conducted by the Rev. Wilhelmina Swanston. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to funeral services.

WALTER DILL 'W.D.' SAPP
Mr. Walter Dill "W.D." Sapp, age 62, of 328 Leila Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1950, coming here from Chipley, Fla. Mr. Sapp served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He also was a member of St. Andrew Baptist Church, the Ira Lindsey Masonic Lodge No. 365 and worked for International Paper Co. Mr. Sapp is survived by his wife, Thelma Sapp of Panama City, Fla.; son, Wallace Earl Sapp of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters: Shirley Ann Suber of Moultrie, Ga. and Mildred Carol Gray of Lynn Haven, Fla.; a sister, Myrtle Diehl of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randall Perry and Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites to be conducted by Ira Lindsey Lodge No. 365. The Lodge will be open an hour prior to service time. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Edward Turner, Sean Malloy, Harce Earl Pitts, Kim Shores, Johnny Fussel, and Clinton Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will include: Employees of International Paper Southwest and Stone Container, Dr. William Flynn, Dr. Harvey P. Mathis, Rev. Tom Sealy, and Clayton Owens.
