LOUISE TUCKER HARDY
Louise Hardy, retired teacher, died Wednesday morning Sept. 22, 1999, at her home in Panama City, Fla. She was 91. Born Louise Ellen Tucker, on July 30, 1908, in Haverhill, Mass., she spent her young life in Merrimac, Mass., where she graduated from high school. Following her graduation from Merrimac High, Louise attended Framingham Normal School where she received her teacher's certificate. She taught elementary school during the Depression years in Seabrook, N.H., and Merrimac, Mass., following in the footsteps of her mother, Anne Hosford Tucker, former Superintendent of Schools in Merrimac. On June 30, 1930, Louise married her high school sweetheart, Malcolm Lewis Hardy, who had come to Merrimac from Hope Farm in Goshen, Vt., near Bradford, Vt. They moved to Tarrytown, N.Y., in 1938 where her husband started his career in aviation and learned to fly. In 1942 they moved to Waynesboro, Pa., during which time their son Lewis was born and they purchased the local airport. Throughout World War II they operated a Naval Air training program at the airport. After her husband's death in 1953, Louise returned to teaching in the Waynesboro School Districts and taught there until her retirement in 1975. Following her retirement, she moved to Panama City to be near her son. Louise was a great collector of books on a wide range of subjects. She was a prolific writer and her many friends and family will remember receiving her notes written in perfect penmanship. Family genealogy was a passion and her research took her to all corners of New England. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favored charity. in Bradford, Vt., at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26. Louise will be buried there with her husband and infant daughter, Lois Anne Hardy. She is survived by one son, Lew Hardy and wife Gayle of Panama City Beach; grandchildren: Doug Hardy and his wife Paula and Michelle Faulkner and her husband Joey, all of Birmingham, Ala., Lyn Phillips and Jared Phillips and his wife Patricia, all of Panama City Beach; great-grandchildren: Samuel S. Hardy and Scott Hardy, both of Birmingham and L.J. Phillips of Panama City Beach; and a niece, Joyce Tucker Silberling and her husband Robert of Thousand Oaks, Calif. She was preceded in death by a brother, Elsworth Tucker.

Mr. Michael Anthony Lowery, 41, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Port St. Joe, he served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Church of God in Christ. Mr. Lowery was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lowery Sr. Survivors include his mother, Ruth S. LEONA (BUNNY) MAHLER
Mrs. Leona (Bunny) Mahler, born in Nashville, Tenn., died on Sept. 22, 1999. She moved to Wewahitchka in 1979. Mrs. Mahler was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, a chemist with W. R. Grace Co., and taught in Nashville area schools. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, vice-regent of St. Joseph Bay Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member of Wewahitchka Womens Club. She is survived by her husband, George of Wewahitchka; her daughter, Elizabeth of Destin; two sons: Dr. Fred W. Mahler of Nashville and Dr. George S. Mahler of Greenville, S.C. Marie Preziosi, of Lynn Haven, died Tuesday, September 21, 1999, at Gulf Coast Hospital. Marie was born in Southhampton, N.Y., on Aug. 30, 1963. She was a March of Dimes poster child for the Eastern Suffolk Co. N.Y. chapter in 1965. Marie attended elementary schools on Long Island, N.Y., and in Chipping Norton and Upper Heyford, England. She graduated from Holy Nativity Episcopal School, and was a 1981 honors graduate of Mosley High School. She attended Gulf Coast Community College, Hillsbourough Community College and was a graduate of Florida State University, Tallahassee. While attending college she was a volunteer at the University of South Florida Medical School and at Gulf Coast Hospital. She was a former dispatcher for the Lynn Haven Police Department, and was currently employed at Sallie Mae as a customer service representative. Marie was also self-employed as an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Marie leaves her parents, Al and Jo Preziosi, of Lynn Haven; sisters: Adele Preziosi of Sacramento, Calif., and Barbara Rahl of Lynn Haven; brothers: Patrick Preziosi and wife Julie of Fort Mitchell, Ky., and Allan and wife Joanna of Panama City; nieces: Claire Preziosi, Sophia Preziosi, Katie Rahl, Gianna Preziosi, Lindy Preziosi, Alana Preziosi; nephews: Sidney Van Ness, Chris Rahl and Alex Rahl and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Isa A. Ramilo, age 88, of National City, Calif., was laid to rest Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Panama City. Graveside services were conducted by Father Marty Bratek, St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church and Pastor Ron Ball, Woodlawn United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Little Chapel of the Roses, Glenn Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita, Calif., with Father Louis Fischer officiating. Mrs. Ramilo died Saturday, Sept. 4, at Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego, Calif. She was born May 14, 1911, in the Philippines and had been a U.S. resident since 1972. Survivors include two sons: Iluminado Alcarez of San Diego, Calif., and Manolo Guillamun of Manila, Philippines; five daughters: Norma Hassell of Orlando, Zenaida Hoffman of Glendale, Ariz., Olivia Baber of Panama City, Pros Gill of Twentynine Palms, Calif., Alicia Fajardo of Manila, Philippines. Mrs. Ramilo leaves behind 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. The family thanks friends in California, Florida, and the Philippines for the flowers, cards, letters, and expressions of sympathy extended during their time of grief.

He had been a resident of the area for 85 years, coming here from Graceville, Fla. Mr. Taylor was a commercial fisherman and attended Callaway Assembly of God Church. Fred Martin Luck, 69, of Panama City, died September 22, 1999 in a local hosptial. He was a retired aircraft mechanic for U.S. Air. He had been a resident of Panama City for 6 years moving here from New York. He was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge 347 of Westmoreland, N.Y., a lifetime member of the VFW of Fultonville, N.Y., Zyra Shrine Temple of Utica, N.Y., and was a graduate of Fonda High School, Fonda, N.Y. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Amos William Van Dyke, 80, of Panama City, died Friday morning, Sept. 24, 1999 in a local nursing home. Mr. Van Dyke was a man of many talents. During his lifetime he was a merchant marine, saw combat in World War II as a master chief in the Navy and Vietnam as a civilian consultant. He attained a law degree practicing law in Atlanta, Ga., and was appointed Lt. Colonel, Aide De Camp, to Gov. Lester Maddox. He was also a Navy photographer at the NCSC and was a professional photographer and a writer for the Florida Anglers Society. Mr. Van Dyke is preceded in death by his wife, Lovere Marie, whom he adored. He left no known family except for a beloved sister-in-law, Louise Keller of West Virginia. He will be missed by his friends and adopted family, Michael and Phyllis Kidd and his associates in the Shriners of Bay County. Memorilization will be by cremation.
