JOHN M. HOOD
John M. Hood, 47, of 108 N. Bonita Ave., Panama City, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, in his home. A mechanical engineer from Chicago, he moved to Panama City in 1991 and was the owner of Exotic Aquatics Pet Store. He is survived by his wife, Mona Hood, his parents John and Jean Hood and Ellen Sharp, and five children: Tammy Stalnaker, Kimberly White, Nicole Hood, Melissa McBride and Michael Hood. His grandchildren include: Ryan, Taylor, Ashley, Amanda, Tara, Kayla, Savannah and Christian. Funeral services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 15, 1999. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

ALVIN LEWIS KING SR.
Alvin Lewis King, Sr., born April 2O, 1943, Detroit, Mich. to the Late Henry L. King and the late Mittie B. King. He was married on June 1, 1992, to Blannie Mamie Shivers King. He was honorably discharged from his earthly labor on Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at the Gulf Coast Hospital. As faithful and loyal member of The Providence Church, Panama City, Florida, he served on the Founding Board of Directors and the Finance Committee during his membership at The Providence Church. Mr. King was educated in the Wayne County, Michigan Public Schools and completed his Bachelor's Degree at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Ga. He also served as Sergeant First Class in the United States Army where he was Honorably Discharged after 24 Years, 8 Months. His life and legacy will be carried on by his devoted wife, Blannie Mamie King; along with his five daughters: Karen King, LaTrina Shivers, Sonya Shivers, Natasha Coleman (David), Tracey McWhite (Carlton); two sons, Alvin King Jr. (Susan), Dorien King; four grandsons: Brian Walker, Stephon Saddler, Justin Coleman, Alexander King; one godson, Devarius Lawton; one adopted brother, Johnny Lynch (Iris), Williamsburg, Va.; two aunts, Nellie Jefferies, Detroit, Mich., Winnie Pullom, Detroit, Mich.; mother-in-law, Darnella Cooper; four sisters-in-law: Ruth Brown, Joyce Green (Elton), Cardellya Moore, Peggy Brown (Neville), Joyce Cook; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Ray Brantly, Calvin Cooper; special friends: the Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Dicking, Robert and Catherine Jones, Willie Mae Ware; and a host of relatives and friends. Flowers are to be sent to The Providence Church, 2100 East 5th St., Panama City, Fla. 32401, where the visitation will be held today, Oct. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 12 noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, interment at Hillside Cemetery.

ROBERT M. CULLEN
Mr. Robert M. Cullen, age 37, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1984, coming here from Warminster, Pa., and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Mr. Cullen was a cement truck driver for Ewell Concrete Co. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking, had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and was loved by everybody. Mr. Cullen is survived by his wife, Roberta Cullen of Panama City, Fla; his parents, Richard and Margaret Cullen of Panama City, Fla; sisters: Helen Nicklas and her husband Mark of Newtown, Pa., and Carmel Gorin and her husband Steve of Panama City, Fla.; and his brothers: Richard Cullen of Panama City, Fla., and Joseph Cullen and his wife Christine of East Hartford, Conn. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: H. L. Pettis, Ron DeFalko, Robert Kyzer, Michael Dean, Mike Caswell, and Eric House. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of Ewell Concrete Co.

PAUL HOLM NIELSEN
Mr. Paul Holm Nielsen, age 66, of 525 Magnolia St., Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1977 and was Protestant by faith. Mr. Nielsen served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. He was also the owner of the Seoul Red Barn. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Power Squadron and taught classes at the St. Andrew Bay Power Squadron. Mr. Nielsen is survived by his wife, Chun Nielsen of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Moses S. Nielsen of Panama City and Richard Nielsen of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Kathy Nielsen and Lisa Kray, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Monday, Oct. 18, at Panama City Korean Church with Pastor Song officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories with full military honors accorded by Tyndall Air Force Base.

ALLEN HOUSTON RUSS
Mr. Allen Houston Russ, age 89, of 314 N. James Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1943 coming here from Bainbridge, Ga. Mr. Russ was a retired outside machinist pipefitter with International Paper Company. He was also one of the oldest charter members of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Russ is survived by his daughters, Mary L. Whitehurst of Panama City, Fla., and Dorothy M. Kendall of Valparaiso, Fla.; a sister, Lila Baker of Attala, Ala.; a brother, Leo Russ of Bessemer, Ala.; three grandchildren: Michael Kendall and his wife Jana, John C. Kendall and his wife Judy, and Lisa Ann Cockrell and her husband James; and six great-grandchildren: Cherron Kofford, Misti Kofford, Kristina Kendall, Jonathan Kendall, Daniel Lee Adkins, and Wesley Adkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Russ in 1977. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Oct 15, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment will follow.

JOHNNY W. SANSOME
Mr. Johnny W. Sansome, 86, of 4253 Elm St., Marianna, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. He attended the old Bethlehem School near Cottondale and went to high school at the Jackson County Training School in Marianna, formerly Gilmore Academy. He was a World II Air Force veteran. Following an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he began working teaching GI's agriculture. He was a successful small businessman, being proprietor of a gas and service station and a building contracting business. He was one of the funeral attendants at Peoples Funeral Home for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church for 73 years, where he served as a steward and a class leader. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellan Nadine Sansome Boykins. He is survived by a devoted companion, Mary L. Young of Marianna; eight loving children: Kevin D. Sansome, Eric Young (Mercedes), Sheila P. Wynn and Bertram D. Wynn all of Marianna, Carlos Young (Kawanda) of Columbia, Md., T. Omega Wynn (Kysh) of Atlanta, Ga., Denise McGriff (Shedrick) of Bascom, and Brenda White of Chicago, Ill; two adoring sisters: Ozella S. Brown of Atlanta and Curlie S. White (W.C.) of Coral Springs (formerly of Panama City); seven grandchildren: Reggie, Quinton, Shedricka, Kai, Shironda, Justice, Marcus; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Sansom will be held today, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. in Bethlehem A.M.E. church near Cottondale, Fla., with the Rev. Otis Blackshear officiating. Interment to follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time.

LEATHIEA CHRISTIAN
Leathiea Christian (Nell), 57, of 1420 Balboa Ave., Apt. F-43, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at her home. Nell was born in Andalusia, Ala., on March 11, 1942. She was the only child of the late Alvester Christian and Carrie B. Austin. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She joined in matrimony to Nelson Miller in 1959, and of this union, two children were born: Tony Miller and Terrence Miller of Panama City. She is survived by one uncle, John Raymond (Marzella) of Louisville, Ky.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins and family members. Funeral services for Leathiea Christian will be held Sunday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. in Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerome Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin this afternoon from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Mabelean Raymond resident at 1921 Mack Lewis Dr., Apt. A.

DONALD BREEN JEE
Donald Breen Jee passed away Friday morning, Oct. 15, 1999 at his home in Panama City, Fla., at the age of 81. Born in New Orleans, La., he retired here in 1973. He was a communications specialist serving in the U.S.A.F. as CMsgt. for 31 years of active duty. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and Vietnam. He earned a B.A. in education from the University of West Florida. Mr. Jee was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his wife, Bertha E. Jee of Panama City; son, Jonathan L. Jee and wife Susan of New Orleans, La.; two daughters: Judith E. Dodd and husband Jack of Huntington, W.Va., Jacqueline J. Cox and husband Michael of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren: Rebecca Jee, Greta Jee, Laura Jee, Suzanna Dodd and Caitlin Cox. Mr. Jee was one of nine children, five whom survive him: Rolland Jee of New Orleans, La., Russell Jee of Baton Rogue, La., Bernard Jee of New Orleans, La., Gloria Joe of Bakersfield, Calif., and Lorraine Tedesco of Fafayette, La. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's, 5209 E. 11th Street, Panama City, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Jee may be made to the World Wide Ministries or the American Heart Association.

JOHN WALTER LOKERSON
Mr. John Walter Lokerson, age 66, of 906 Mallory Dr., Panama City, Fla., died Oct. 15, 1999 at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1989, coming here from Waterford, N.Y. Mr. Lokerson served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of the Messiah Lutheran Church since 1989. He was instrumental in the opening of the Lynn Haven Plant of the Allied Signal Corp. He was a design engineer with more than 100 patents to his credit during his career. In 1996 he was awarded the Inventor Award by Allied Signal for his work in conceptual design. Mr. Lokerson wanted to be remembered as a Christian who was lovingly devoted to his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Trudy Lokerson of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Deborah Armstrong of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two sons: Mark Lokerson of Panama City, Fla., and Daniel Lokerson of Gulfport, Miss.; a sister: Patricia Trout of Prescott, Az.; brother, Ernest Lokerson and his wife Ruth of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and grandchildren: Scott Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong, Jason Lokerson, Joshua Lokerson, Cameryn Lokerson and Keenan Lokerson. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced tomorrow.
