Memorial services for Mrs. Dorothy Russell, age 72, of 2938 Jenks Ave., Panama City, who died on Oct. 25, 1999, in a Dallas, Texas hospital, will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. HENRY GEORGE PADGETTE
Henry George Padgette, 80, of Youngstown, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He was the former owner of Panama City Marine Service Co. He was a member of the Rosehill Blue Masonic Lodge No. 484 in Columbus, Ga., and the Scottish Rite in Panama City. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte B. Padgette; son, Robert H. Padgette of Navarre Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Jacqueline Murphy, Vikki Lyn Lewis, both of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren: Jeanie Skaggs, Michael H. Murphy, Sonya Lewis, Kathy Lewis; four great-grandchildren; five sisters: Isabell Smith, Julienne Wilson, both of Fitzgerald, Ga., Juliette Bowen of Atlanta, Ga., Rosa Mae Ingram of Blairsville, Ga., Marie Wilson of Merritt Island, Fla.; two brothers: Deleano Padgette of Fitzgerald, Ga., Sammie Padgette of Mississippi; and dear friends: Charles and Kim Enfinger. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe O'Daniel officiating. Interment will be in McQuagge-Brown Cemetery with military honors and Masonic rites conducted at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to American Heart Association in memory of Henry Padgette.

WILLIAM 'BILL' PARKER
Mr. William "Bill" Parker of Port St. Joe, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1999, in a local hospital. Mr. Parker was a lifelong resident of Port St. Joe and was a retired meter reader for the Florida Power Company. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict while serving in the United States Army. Mr. Parker was also a member of the Long Avenue Baptist Church where he served as an active deacon and Sunday School teacher of the Adult III Men's Sunday School Class. He is preceded in death by his father, T.E. Parker Sr.; his brothers, Marion Parker and Donald Parker. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary M. Parker of Port St. Joe; two daughters: Carol Parker Faison of Port St. Joe and Patti Parker of Tallahassee, Fla.; two grandchildren: Leslie Anne Faison and James Parker Faison both of Port St. Joe; his mother, Dessie Lee Parker of Port St. Joe, three brothers: Tom Parker and wife, Louise of Port St. Joe, Bruce Parker of Port St. Joe, and Larry Parker and wife, Gail of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Faye Tarantino of Apalachicola, Fla. and Geraldine Beardsley and husband, Lloyd of Panama City; two sisters-in-law: Peggy Parker of Tallahassee, Fla. and Barbara Parker of Port St. Joe, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be conducted today, Nov. 5, 1999, at 2 p.m. EST in Long Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Clark officiating and the Rev. Alan Welborn assisting. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Mr. Parker's nephews will serve as active pallbearers: Tommy Tarantino, Daryl Parker, Randy Parker, Steve Lawrence, Chris Parker, and David Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Long Avenue Baptist Church and the deacons of First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe. Those who wish may make contributions to the Vision 2000 Fund at the Long Avenue Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Bill Parker.

JULIA LEE STRICKLAND
Miss Julia Lee Strickland, age 99, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. Miss Strickland was a native of Point Washington , Fla. She was born Jan. 3, 1900, to Simeon and Neita Beatrice Wise Strickland. She returned to Point Washington 35 years ago after retiring in 1962 from Alabama Public Health where she served as the public health nurse from Henry County, Ala. Ms. Strickland was Methodist by faith and was a member of Point Washington Methodist Church. She was always very active in church, participating in choir and playing the piano. She was also a member of the Sunshine Club in the Pt. Washington Church. Mrs. Strickland is survived by one sister, Helen Strickland of Pt. Washington ; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Miss Strickland on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Pt. Washington Methodist Church. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Houseman officiating. The family of Miss Strickland request in lieu of flowers that donation be made to Pt. Washington Methodist Church.

JAMES MONROE WARREN JR.
Msgt. James Monroe Warren Jr., Retired, U. S. Air Force, age 68, of 1028 S. Katherine St., Callaway, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1967, coming from Jasper, Fla. Msgt. Warren served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was self-employed in the heating and air-conditioning business and was a member of the Callaway United Methodist Church. Msgt. Warren is survived by his wife, Kathy Warren of Callaway, Fla.; daughters: Virginia Warren of Jasper, Fla., Susan Schenck and her husband Chris of East Hampton, N.Y., and Janice Tegl and her husband Paul of Panama City, Fla.; sons: James Monroe Warren III of Raleigh, N.C., and Keith M. Warren and his wife Jean of Key West, Fla.; sisters: Jimmie Ratliff and Jean Warren, both of Jasper, Fla.; brothers: Harold Warren of Valdosta, Ga., Franklin Warren of Jasper, Fla., and Donnie Warren of Live Oak, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Reynold officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Michael Leroy Simpson, age 38, of 1614 3rd St., Southport, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 at his residence. Mr. Simpson had been a resident of Bay County since 1970 coming here from Minete, N.D., and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Diane Simpson of Southport, Fla.; son, Brian Michael Simpson and a daughter, Brittany Joan Simpson, both of Southport, Fla.; his parents, Francis and Ada Simpson of Panama City, Fla.; four sisters: Theresa Ann Simpson of Panama City Beach, Fla., Tammy Angela Wages of Youngstown, Fla., Pamela June Grant of Callaway, Fla., and Tina Marie Bouchard of Springfield, Fla.; three brothers: Billy Roy Taulbee and Gary Wayne Taulbee, both of Ky., Richard Allen Simpson of Callaway, Fla.; two uncles: Ray W. Simpson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Barry D. Simpson of New York, N.Y.; an aunt, Barbara Byler of Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous neices and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Richard Simpson, Michael Bouchard, Richard Toole, Freddie Johnson, Eddie Jackson, Daryl Bell, Robbie Collins and Danny Wages. Robert Lee (R.L.) Spann Jr., 84, of Parker, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 in a local hospital. He was a life-long resident of Bay County. He was a retired carpenter and volunteer fireman of Parker. He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Parker. Mr. Spann is survived by his wife, Rauzelle Spann of Parker, Fla.; four children: Ernest Lee Spann of Wewahitchka, Fla., Jimmy Spann and his wife Donna, of Panama City, Fla., Michael J. Spann of Gainesville, Fla., and Melody Guttlieb and her husband Leonard, of Panama City, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carmen Bishop of Barton, Fla. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Parker with the Rev. Craig Hartzog officiating. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery. Tsgt. Isaac Bush Whatley Jr., retired, U.S. Air Force, age 79, of 15136 Lucy Lane, Southport, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 in a local hospital. Mr. Whatley had been a resident of Bay County since 1956 coming here from Pensacola, Fla. Mr. Whatley was of the Protestant faith, and was owner and operator of Whatley Junk Yard, served his county in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Whatley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Whatley of Sand Hills, Fla.; daughter, Barbara Nichols of Fountain, Fla., son, Hewey Whatley of Panama City, Fla.; daughters: Joyce Barber and husband James of Sand Hills, Fla., Earlene Crooms and husband Bud, Gail Odom and husband Tommy both of Parker, Fla.; son, Dewey Whatley, and daughter, Tammy Sue Whatley both of Sand Hills, Fla., 14 grandchildren: Carl, Nita, Kenny, Lynn, Laura, Robert, Callie, Carol, Brenda, Charlie, Debbie, Kevin, Lisa and Tommy; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Minnie Lecke of New Orleans, La., and Gloria Blackwell of Pensacola, Fla..; five nieces and nephews. Mr. Whatley is preceded in death by a grandson, Walter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Pettis officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. Mrs. Lucille Goodwin, 70, of Altha, went to be with the Lord on Friday night, Nov. 5, 1999, at Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown. Mrs. Goodwin was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She retired from the Carr School lunchroom with more than 23 years of service. Lucille was a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksville. She is survived by a son, Edward J. Goodwin of Bonifay; seven daughters: Faye Mayo of Lake City, Linda Hamm of Wellborn, Iris Messick of Panama City, Mary Mitchell of Clarksville, Tina Summerlin of Dothan, Ala., Shelly Goodwin of Altha and Denise Wise of Clarksville; a brother, Ira Sewell of Tallahassee; two sisters, Louise Knight of Bushnell, and Estelle Toliver of Tallahassee; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. CST at Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksville with the Rev. Derek Washington and the Rev. Marvin Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Waldorff Cemetery near Grand Ridge. The family will receive friends today, Nov. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peavy Funeral Home.

CARRIE LEE CURRY McCLAIN
Ms. Carrie Lee Curry McClain, 87, of California and formerly of Campbellton, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, in California. She was a native of Jackson County and former member of New Bethel CME Church in Campbellton. Funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 6, at New Bethel CME Church in Campbellton. The Rev. Darrell Rittman, pastor, officiated. Interment followed in Saint Paul Church Cemetery with Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville directing. The wake was Friday at Christian Memorial Chapel in Graceville. Ms. McClain is survived by three children: Ben Allen McClain of Little Rock, Ark., Gloria McClain Madrid of Los Angeles, Calif., and Belinda McClain Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers: John Henry Curry of Quincy, Robert Curry of Campbellton and Charlie Curry of Lake Wales; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
