GLEMA WITTE
Glema Witte, 80, of Panama City, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999. She was born in Michigan Nov. 7, 1919. She was preceded in death by a son, Hubert S. Wakeland Jr.; and by husband, Leonard G. Witte. She is survived by a son, Bill Wakeland of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five grandchildren: Doug Wakeland, Darin Wakeland, Kevin Wakeland and Kelly Wakeland Rojas, all of California, and Tracy Rensel of Pennsylvania . She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her courage and tenacity, and for her great love of children and all things beautiful. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with graveside services to follow at 2 p.m. in Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery.

MILDRED J. BULLARD
Mrs. Mildred J. Bullard, 76, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday morning, Dec. 2, 1999 at her home. Born in Alpine, Ind., she moved here in 1974 from Kentucky. She was the manager of the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park and was Protestant by faith. Funeral services will be held today, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Steve Southerland II officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services.

LLOYD ALLAN GALE
Funeral services for Lloyd Allan Gale, 73, of Panama City, who died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 at his home, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Newton and Dr. Louie Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are: George Thomas, Ronald McGill, Raymond Cannon, Don McGill, Dayton Strickland, John Delcomyn, Emmitt Harrison and William Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are: Norton Davis, Mercer Spear, Stan Whittle, Buford Long, Eugene Syfrett, Jim Moody, Ellis Fowhand and members of B&B Hunting Lease. Those desiring to may make contributions to Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Lloyd Gale.

GLEN RAY HUNDLEY
Mr. Glen Ray Hundley, age 50, of 3933 Gravelle Drive, Southport, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. He had been a resident of the area for 45 years, coming here from Columbus, Ga., and was self-employed as an electronics technician. Beloved husband, daddy, son and brother, he will be greatly missed. Mr. Hundley served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 until 1972 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. The Bible says, In everything give thanks ... so I just want to say thanks for the last 23 years, we love you, Cheryl and Sarah. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl G. Hundley of Southport, Fla.; daughters: Sarah B. Hundley of Southport, Fla., and Brandi L. Hundley of Panama City, Fla.; parents, Frank J. and Jean Hundley of Southport, Fla.; sisters: Cathy Byrd of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Vicki Vann and her husband Ray of Youngstown, Fla.; and brother, Kelly Hundley and his wife Daphne of Panama City, Fla. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today, Dec. 4, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Rhinehart officiating and Mr. Kelly Hundley will offer the eulogy. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Roger Fulghum, Harry Fulghum, Derrol Fulghum, Stephen Pettijohn, Shane Byrd and George Van Buskirk. Honorary pallbearers will include: Ray Vann, Martin Leggett, Richard Carroll, Ted Taylor, Erland Graham and Don Parsons.

Evelyn Angelina Merrill, age 59, of 22500 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1976, coming here from Lansing, Mich., and was Catholic by faith. Ms. Merrill is survived by her former husband, Dr. Thomas Merrill of Apalachicola, Fla.; a brother, George Friedrich and his wife Tessie of Tocoma Park, Md.; two nephews and one niece. Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating.

RALPH RAYMOND PORTER SR.
Ralph Raymond Porter Sr. of Panama City passed away on Dec. 2, 1999. He was born in O'Neil, Neb., March 21, 1921. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corp on Aug. 13, 1941, and moved to Panama City the same year. He was stationed at Tyndall Field during its building phase as a flight chief. He was recalled to military service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was discharged honorably for the second time in 1951. His loving wife Nora Moore Porter preceded him in death. He retired from civil service as an aircraft mechanic leader in 1981 after 31 years of service at the same Tyndall Air Force Base he helped establish. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City. He held membership with the Royal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1389 and the American Legion Post No. 0066. He is survived by his daughter, Ella Rose and her husband Derryl Whittemore Sr. of Lynn Haven, Fla.; his son, Ralph Jr. and his wife Marlene Porter of Florence, S.C.; grandson, Derryl L. Whittemore Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter, Natalie and her husband Robert Hall of Panama City, Fla.; granddaughter, Samantha Porter of Richmond, Va.; granddaughter, Georgette Porter of Florence, S.C.; great-granddaughter, Brittany Hall of Panama City; great- grandson, Hunter Hall of Panama City; brother, Edward and sister-in-law Elaine Porter of Columbus, Neb.; brother, Eugene and sister-in-law Marie Porter of Norfolk, Neb.; sister-in-law, Shirley Porter of Norman, Okla., and sister-in-law, Josephine Moore of Panama City, Fla. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Newton and the Rev. Al Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The family would like to give special thanks to Gulf Coast Hospital, Glencove Nursing Home and Panama City Nursing Home. Those wishing to make memorials should do so through the First United Methodist Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 248 Panama City, Fla., 32402-0248. The family will be at the home of Ella R. MATTIE GERTRUDE CANNINGTON
Mrs. Mattie Gertrude Cannington of Port St. Joe, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at the age of 89. Born in St. Marks, Fla., she moved here in 1942. She was a homemaker and member of Highland View Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Cannington is survived by two daughters, Janice Groce and husband Dalton of Panama City, Fla., and Nell Jensen and husband Bob of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Howard Cannington of Panama City and B.F. Cannington and wife Faye of Port St. Joe; a sister Gracie Helens of Panama City; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. EST in the Highland View Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jean Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Cannington's grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Jimmy Cannington, Donald Wayne Cannington, Shane Groce, Eric Groce, Michael Groce and Jason Dady. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. EST. Written in loving memory from Mrs. Cannington's family.
