DALLAS J. PRESLEY
Mr. Dallas J. Presley Sr. of Wewahitchka passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Bay Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Samson, Ala., he has been a lifelong resident of Gulf County. Mr. Presley was retired from St. Joe Paper Company after 41 years of service, and had served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include one son, Dallas Presley Jr. and wife Trease; one daughter, Linda Skipper and husband Tommy; two grandchildren, Pertanya Presley and B.J. Lincoln; three great-grandchildren: Brandon, Blake and Megan, all of Wewahitchka; three brothers: Charlie Presley and wife Leona of Wewahichka, Wilmer Presley of Samson, Ala. and Dal Persley and wife, Darlene of Samson, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST (1 p.m. CST) on Friday, Dec. 17 at Oak Grove Assembly of God, conducted by his son, Dallas Presley Jr. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. He will lie in state at the home of his son, 5361 Highway 71 South until Friday morning.

Olivia Edna Burt, 88, of Pensacola, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for William Hugh McEnally, 74, of Panama City, who died Tuesday, December 14, 1999, at his home, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Ken Solomon officiating. Interment will be today at 11:45 a.m. in Fort Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla., with full military honors conducted at graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.

ROSA NELL PHILLIPS
Mrs. Rosa Nell Phillips, age 73, of 3710 E. Hwy. 390, Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1947, coming here from Barbour Co., Ala. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church and a member of Bay Medical Center Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James H. Phillips of Panama City, Fla.; daughter: Sherra Withers and her husband Gary of Southport, Fla.; sons: Steve Phillips and his wife Elaine "Tiny" of Bayou George, Fla., and John Anthony of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Cochran of Sara Land, Ala.; sisters: Sara Strickland of Montgomery, Ala., Aline Bowman of Ozark, Ala., and Evelyn Hatcher of Pinckard, Ala.; grandsons: James Jared Phillips, Tyson Withers, and Derick Phillips; granddaughter, Kimberly Lyn Phillips; great-grandson, L. J. Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Pickerill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Tyson Withers, Derick Phillips, Jared Phillips, Cliff West, George Arnold, and Kenneth Hottinger. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

KENNETH DeWAYNE BROWN
Mr. Kenneth DeWayne Brown, age 56, of 3613 A East Orlando Road, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area for 31 years, coming here from Marshall, Minn. Mr. Brown served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a director of the Bay County Fair Association, past commander of the American Legion Post No. 66 of Panama City, and a lifetime member of AmVets Post No. 78 of Niceville, Fla. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Betty J. Brown of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Timothy Brown and his wife Kimberly of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa Meadows and her husband Keith; and their mother, Barbara Brown of Fountain, Fla.; brothers, Roger Brown and James Brown, both of Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren: Jordan, Christopher and Katie. A memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Pennington officiating.

DAWN McDONALD COOPER
Dawn McDonald Cooper, 42, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Dec. 15, 1999 of extended illness in Tallahassee. A native of Panama City, she was a longtime resident of Tallahassee. She worked for the Health Care Administration as a management review specialist and previously worked for the Department of Insurance with the State of Florida. Mrs. Cooper was a member of The First Baptist Church, a soloist in the choir, organized the First Baptist Church Cornerstone Ensemble and a member of Tallahassee Community Chorus. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 18, at First Baptist Church in Tallahassee and interment in Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee. The family received friends Dec. 17 at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home-Riggins Road Chapel. Survivors include her husband, Milton Murray Cooper of Tallahassee; parents, George and Vernice McDonald of Tallahassee; mother and father-in-law, Julia Ann and Phillip Cooper of Tallahassee; brother-in-law, Dr. Will Cooper of Thomasville, Ga.; aunts: Ruby McCall of Panama City, Wanda Lear of Farmersburg, Ind., Jean Hawhee of Famersburg; cousins: Janet Gonzales of Madrid, Spain, Dr. Jerry McCall of Panama City, Randy McCall of Columbus, Miss., Dick Lear of Tuscon, Ariz., Jill Williams of Austin, Texas , Lana Shuck of Terra Haute, Ind., and Phillip Hawhee of Indian Rocks, Fla.

ERNEST CREEL
Mr. Ernest Creel, age 86, of Cocoa, Fla, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999 at the Wuesthoff Hospital. He came from Haines City, Fla., to Brevard County in 1998. Mr. Creel retired as a heavy equipment operator in 1976 and many years ago was a commercial fisherman on Lake Okeechokbee, where he grew up. He was also a member of the Northwest Baptist Church in Cocoa, Fla. Mr. Creel is survived by his son, James Edison Creel of Chipley, Fla.; a daughter, Elva Creel Gilbert of Cocoa, Fla.; a sister, Eddie Creel Clements of Mt. Dora, Fla.; three granddaughters; one grandson; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Versie Creel; his mother, Ammie Arnold Creel; his wife, Edna Kent Creel; and a sister, Edris Creel Douglas. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with his son-in-law, the Rev. Johnny Gilbert, officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Jackson County, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, Dec. 19, from 1 to 2 p.m., an hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 685, Panama City, Fla. 32402.

TRAVIS MICHAEL GONZALES
Master Travis Gonzales, 9, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Houston, Texas , he was a student in the 4th grade at Cedar Grove Elementary School. He loved playing and swimming in the park. Travis is survived by his mother and her fiancee, Judy Gonzales and Murray Turbeville, both of Panama City; grandmothers, Velda Batt of Crowell, Texas and Lila McManus of Panama City; three brothers: Isaiah Joshua Gonzales, Jeremiah David Gonzales and Thomas Edward Gonzales, all of Panama City; one sister, Blenda Michelle Gonzales of Pensacola and Brooke Nichelle Batt of Panama City. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m.

RONALD BRUCE HAYES
Mr. Ronald Bruce Hayes, of Southport, Fla., a loving husband and devoted father, died at the age of 30 on Thursday, Dec. 16, as the result of an automobile accident. Born in North Little Rock, Ark., he moved here in 1978 and attended Tyndall Elementary, Everitt Jr. High School, Shaw Adult Center and graduated from P.C.M.I. in 1986. He was a concrete contractor who was formerly employed by King Concrete. Ronald has just recently started his own business. Mr. Hayes is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gerald W. Hayes; maternal grandmother, LaVonne L. Gear; and an uncle, Gerald W. Hayes Jr. He is survived by his wife, Tracy C. Booth Hayes of Southport; his parents, James and Phyllis Hayes, Bill and Charlene Gorman, all of Panama City; Grady and Julie Booth of Fort Lauderdale; his children: Krysten, Jason and Ron Jr., all of Southport; one sister, Pattie Reed and husband Mike of North Carolina; two brothers, Mike Hayes and wife Cindy of Panama City Beach, James Hayes and wife Natalie of Panama City; grandparents, Elaine and Henry Hager of Duluth, Minn., Robert S. Palmer of Floodwood, Minn; great-grandparents, Alma and J.D. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. in Parker Cemetery with Capt. M. Newton Brown officiating. ELSE WITZEL HERRLINGER
Else Witzel Herrlinger, 91, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at her home. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she had been a resident of Parker since 1959. In the past, she was a member of the Philosophical Society and was active in the International Affairs Committee of the Panama City Woman's Club. She is survived by a step-daughter, Miriam DiPeppe, and five nieces and nephews. Her cremains, together with those of her late husband, Richard, will be buried in the Witzel family plot at Chartiers Cemetery in Carnegie, Penn. Honoring her wishes, a memorial service will be held at graveside for family members.
