WALLACE TOMPKINS LeSUER
Memorial services for Wallace Tompkins "Wally" LeSuer, 62, will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Eufaula, Ala. His friends Lucien Abraham, Sam Lemaistre Jr., and Bill Polhemius will deliver the eulogy with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Mr. LeSuer died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula. He was born in Georgia and was the son of the late Mary Barrett LeSuer and Joseph LeSuer Sr. He was a resident of Panama City until he moved to Eufaula, Ala., 10 years ago. In Eufaula he was vice president of Poly Fabricators Inc. After 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy he retired as a Commander. He served as a pilot and was a Viet Nam veteran. He is survived by his wife Nancy Phillips LeSuer of Eufaula; four children Wendi LeSuer and Terri LeSuer, both of Jacksonville, Janie Phillips of Albuquerque, N.M., and Travis Phillips of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Joseph LeSuer Jr., of Panama City and Hunter LeSuer of California; one sister, Mary Jo White of Dothan, Ala.; two grandsons and one godson. Poly Fabricators employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.

BILLY EUGENE MAULDEN
Mr. Billy Eugene Maulden, 59, of Howard's Creek, died Thursday morning Dec. 23, 1999 at his home. He was born in Alabama and was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his father Nathan Maulden of Lynn Haven; two brothers, James W. Maulden and wife Patria of Panama City and Ray Maulden and wife Peggy of Lake Charles, La.; two sisters, Sandra Williams and husband Charlie, and Sherry Park and husband Taft, all of Panama City; and many friends in Howard's Creek. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Internment will follow in the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

RICHARD CONROY MUTERSPAUGH
Richard Conroy Muterspaugh, 65, of 1110 Arthur Ave., Panama City, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 in his home. He was a 1953 graduate of Bay High School and a lifelong resident of Panama City. He was the owner and operator of RCM Refrigeration Service. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church where he was chairman of the ushers, trustee, and maintenance supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Muterspaugh; daughter, Charlotte Legare and her husband Michael; three grandsons: Richard Aaron Legare, Joshua Patrick Legare, Jonathan Michael Legare; brother, Ramon Muterspaugh and his wife, Margie, all of Panama City; sister, Miriam Chappel and her husband, Sam of Vernon. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Gospel Assembly Church with Clyde Sharber officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Gospel Assembly Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening.

ABERTA L. OBERT
Mrs. Aberta L. Obert, 65, of 7829 Resota Beach Road, Southport, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at her residence. She was born in Southport and was a lifetime resident of this area. She worked as a seamstress for Jonathan & Logan for many years. She was a member of Southport First Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband William C. Obert of Southport; daughters, Jackie Birge and her husband Bo of Chipley, Joyce Sauls and her husband David of Southport; sons, Joel Obert and his wife Kim of Southport, William C. Obert, Jr. and his wife Janet of Southport; a stepdaughter Catherine Ann Ebel of Grand Forks, N.D.; sisters: Pansy Burkett of Southport, Lois Joyner of West Bay, and Mazie Sinclair of Southport; extended family members: Yvonne Bullard, Danielle Bullard, Michelle Bullard, Pam Driver; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Gail Obert and a son-in-law, Danny Darsey. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Whetstone, the Rev. Buford Carter and the Rev. Derick Beddinger officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Active pallbearers are: Wally Cooley, Lynn Mason, Leon Mathis, Robby Quick, Carl Seal, Michael Obert and Edmond Hill. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of Margaret Fashions. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 1999.

CHARLES HENRY PENDLEY SR.
Charles Henry Pendley Sr., 62, of 8212 Random Road, West Bay, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 in his home. He was a retired offshore supply boat engineer. He had been a resident of Bay County for 28 years moving here from Marietta, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Lanell Pendley; three sons, Eddie Roy, Charles Henry Pendley Jr., and Dwayne H. Pendley; two daughters, Dawn Nowack, and Carmen Eyvette Roy; two grandchildren, Kurtis Nowack, Michael Nowack Jr., all of Bay County; and one sister, Mildred Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the West Bay Community Church with Brother Leon Jenkins officiating.

MARGARET GRANT ROPER
Margaret Grant Roper, 72, of Panama City, died Saturday, December 25, 1999 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City, a graduate of Bay High School and a retired nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eddie Roper; her parents James Robert Grant and Marie Dykes Grant; and her brother, Curtis B. Grant. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Ann Roper; two sons, James Franklin Roper and wife, Cindy, David Wayne Roper and wife, Pamela, all of Panama City; one brother, James H. Grant and his wife Valma of Crescent City, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Doss officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.

DELPHINE ELEANOR MILLER SHEFFIELD
Ms. Delphine Eleanor Miller Sheffield, 67, of 1304 Bruce St., Dothan, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Westside Terrace Nursing Home after an extended illness. Ms. Sheffield was born Oct. 16, 1932 in Canada, the daughter of Jacob Miller and Mary Kettle Miller. She retired from waitressing at the Coffee Kettle in Panama City after 29 years. She attended Dothan Church of God. She was loved by many and always kept her sweet spirit. She enjoyed her children often and loved them very much. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Drennan. She is survived by daughters: Betty Pate and her husband Wayne of Panama City, Peggy Allen and her husband Larry of Fort Walton Beach, Roberta Oswalt and her husband Roy of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Angel Peoples and her husband Cary of Dothan, Ala., and Virginia Hall and her husband Stephen of Birmingham, Ala.; sons, Bobby Drennan and his wife Starla of Enterprise, Ala., and Greg Lathery and his wife Dana of Dothan, Ala.; five sisters and two brothers in Canada; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Martin officiating. Internment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Brian Drennan, Bobby Touchton, Jeremy Pate, T.J. Pate, Roy Bennett and Chris Clyatt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 1999. Mr. Horace Glenn Willis, 75, of 302 N. James Ave., Panama City, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with masonic rites conducted at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. KENNETH DeWAYNE BROWN
Mr. Kenneth DeWayne Brown, age 56, of 3613 A East Orlando Road, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area for 31 years, coming here from Marshall, Minn. Mr. Brown served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a director of the Bay County Fair Association, past commander of the American Legion Post No. 66 of Panama City, and a lifetime member of AmVets Post No. 78 of Niceville, Fla. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Betty J. Brown of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Timothy Brown and his wife Kimberly of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa Meadows and her husband Keith; and their mother, Barbara Brown of Fountain, Fla.; brothers, Roger Brown and James Brown, both of Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren: Jordan, Christopher and Katie. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Pennington officiating.

YASUE TATENO HAITH
Mrs. Yasue Tateno Haith lost her struggle with cancer on Dec. 22, 1999, in her home with her family at her side. Born in Nikko, Japan on Nov. 8, 1939, she first came to the United States in 1962. After short stays in Virginia, California, Washington State and Texas , she settled in Panama City in 1968 with her husband, Bob Haith, and family. Gentle, kind and generous, she devoted her life to her family, serving selflessly and quietly. In her battle against cancer, she revealed a silent bravery that inspired all who knew her. She was deeply grateful for the prayers and support of her many friends and family. Mrs. Haith is preceded in death by her parents, Tamagiro, Tateno and Hatsu Tateno. She is survived by her former husband, Robert Haith of Panama City Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Mimi LePine and husband Jeff of Gainesville, Fla., Melonie Haith of Panama City; one brother, Sadayuki Tateno of Tokyo, Japan; two sisters: Staoko Ichikawa and Kasuko Kitazawa, both of Tokyo, Japan; a stepson, Michael Haith and wife Pat of New York; stepdaughter, Chris Ann Hix and husband Dan of Virginia; and four grandchildren: Ian, Kristin, Michael and Matthew. Memorialization will be by cremation.
