Mr. Robert V. Hampton, 49, of 1320 Lincoln Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at his home. He was a native of Iron City, Ga., but had been a longtime resident of Bay County. He was born to Thelma Delois Hampton Jones and Henry Orline. Robert leaves to cherish his memories his devoted loving wife, Jeannie Mae Hampton; and his three stepchildren: Rachella, John, Sammy Fagin that he loved dearly of Panama City, Fla.; four brothers and stepfather (Johns Jones), Sam (Denise) Brown of Bainbridge, Ga., Kenneth Brown and Eugene Brown (Leporshal McNeil), Darren Cox of Panama City; five sisters: Carolyn (Thomas) Brown of Fort Myers, Fla., Willie Mae (Nathaniel) Mitchell of Tucson, Ariz., Sandra Brown of Bainbridge, Ga., Earnestine Ford of Panama City, Dequita (Lee) Whitted of Washington D.C.; four brother-in-laws: Ronnie (Joanne) Johnson of Panama City, Joseph (Jenny) Johnson of Kentucky; Robert Johnson and Joshua Johnson of Panama City; two sister-in-laws, Ella Johnson (Freddie J. Douglas), Laura (Charles) Pate of Panama City; two aunts, Juanita Johnson of Mashasset, N.Y., Ola V. Hampton of Bainbridge; one uncle, Bill Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives who will miss him dearly. Funeral services for Mr. Hampton will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. in Pentecostal Worship Center with the Rev. Dr. J.W. Wade, officiating. Interment will follow in Redwood Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of his wife Mrs. Jeannie Hampton of 1320 Lincoln Drive.

CHARLES ARTHUR HEADLEY
Charles Arthur Headley, 73, of Panama City, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000 at his home. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1994 moving here from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a retired horse jockey. He worked with horses all of his life. He is survived by a son, Charles Headley and his wife, Mary of El Paso, Texas ; a daughter, Susan Rae Staub and her husband, Pat of Abbottstown, Penn.; four grandchildren: Brandy Lane Hunter, Sherri Marie Hunter, Benjamin Charles Thomas Hunter, Emily Marie Headley; three sisters: Jaqulyn Salter and her husband, Joe, Zelda Walker and her husband, Alton all of Panama City, Shirley Collins and her husband, Don of El Paso, Texas ; two brothers, Owen Headley and his wife, Georgia of Union, Ky., Lonnie Headley and his wife, Jacqueline of Panama City, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorialization will be by cremation.

ROBERT RILEY MADDOX
Mr. Robert Riley Maddox, 87, of 1113 Hickory Ave., St. Andrews, Fla., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at his home. He was a member of St. Andrews Assembly of God Church for 45 years and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 212 in St. Andrews for 50 years. Mr. Maddox was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Defense Fuel Supply Point in Lynn Haven. Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pansy V. (Adkins) Maddox of St. Andrews; one son, Howard Maddox of Howard's Creek, Fla.; one daughter, Lenora V. Armagost and husband Rodney of St. Andrews; two brothers, Grover "Pee Wee" Maddox of Panama City and Sylvester Maddox of Venice, Fla.; one sister, Louise Adkins of Panama City; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; honorary nephew, Lonnie Padgett of Monticello, Fla., and numerous nieces, nephews and special family friend, Charlotte Sanders of Alford, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted today, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. in St. Andrews Assembly of God Church with Pastors Jeff Scalf and Baldwin Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Joe Goodlake, G.H. McIntosh, Otis Stubbs, Willard Lewis, Mark Kelley and Harold Weaver.

FLORENCE ARLEDGE NIXON
Funeral services for Florence Arledge Nixon, age 75, who passed away on Jan. 3, 2000 will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Doug Newton and the Rev. Al Rowell officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Dr. James Nixon Respite Center, 1116 Frankford Ave., Panama City, FL 32401, or to the American Cancer Society.

GEORGE EUGENE 'GENE' SIMS SR.
Mr. George Eugene "Gene" Sims Sr., formerly of Atlanta, Ga., and owner of Gene's Lawn Service, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000. He was a member of E.A. Minor Lodge No. 603 and a member of Yaarab Temple of Atlanta, Ga. He leaves behind a beloved wife, Yvonne Sims of Panama City Beach; daughters, Jan Ralston of Panama City Beach and Sherry Brand of Loganville, Ga.; sons, Gene Sims Jr., Ricky and Rocky Sims all of Panama City Beach; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Sims of Atlanta, Ga. and stepfather, Jack Duncan of Chamblee, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 6 at 1 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m.

JAMES HARVELL THOMAS
Mr. James Harvell Thomas, 79, of 524 Sixth Street, Port St. Joe, Fla., died Tuesday morning, Jan. 4, 2000, in a local hospital. Mr. Thomas moved to Port St. Joe in 1939 where he was retired from the Gulf County Mosquito Control after many years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II and was Protestant by faith. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lettie Catherine Thomas; one son, Donald Thomas and wife Vicky all of Port St. Joe, Fla.; one daughter, Eva Montez Dandy and husband Jim of Mexico Beach; one stepdaughter, Hazel Land and husband Gerald of Ponce De Leon, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. EST in United Pentacostal Church of Port St. Joe, Fla. with the Rev. Larry Wells officiating and interment following in Holly Hills Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at United Pentacostal Church of Port St. Joe.

RUTH ERENE TREXLER
Ruth Erene Trexler, 41, of Panama City, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1976, moving here from Clifton, N.J. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William R. Trexler. Mrs. Trexler is survived by her husband, Curtis Brendt Trexler Sr.; three children: Curtis Brendt Trexler II, Elise Ruth Trexler and David William Trexler all of Panama City; her parents, the Rev. Robert and Erene Tauscher Sr. of Callaway, Fla.; three brothers: Paul Tauscher and his wife Susan of Long Valley, N.J., the Rev. Robert Tauscher Jr. and his wife Michaela of Springfield, Penn., Carl Tauscher and his wife Florence of Bricktown, N.J.; four sisters: Esther Tauscher of Callaway, Lois Allen and her husband, Robert of Italy, Susan Schuenemann and her husband, Richard of Shalimar, Fla., Nancy Sumerall of Callaway, Fla.; father and mother-in-law, William and Claire Trexler of Panama City and a sister-in-law, Brenda Gabbert and her husband, Gene of Jay, Fla. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the memorial fund of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in memory of Ruth Trexler.

FLORENCE ARMITAGE WARREN
Mrs. Florence Armitage Warren, 85, of Enterprise, Ala., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000 at Medical Center Enterprise. Mrs. Warren was a retired school teacher having taught for 27 years in New York and Florida. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Retired Teachers Association, and Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Colonists. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mrs. Warren received her B.S. degree from Muskingum College in Concord, Ohio. Mrs. Warren is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald B. Warren Sr. and her parents, Lawrence F. and Sarah Cobb Armitage and one sister, Doris Gimbrone. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald B. Jr. and Sara Warren of Enterprise; her sister, Sarah Marie Colburn of Gowanda, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Gary Scott (Shevawn) Barron of Abilene, Texas and Sherrie Barron (Clyde) Cooper of Sumter, S.C.; four great-grandchildren; one niece, Dorothy (Wesley) Allen of Gowanda; three nephews: Steve (Liz) Warren of Bristol, N.H., Donald Gimbrone of Millersburg, Ind. and Nick Gimbrone of Reston, Va. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Gowanda, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity or to the Enterprise Rescue Squad.

MARTHA JANSENIUS COLLINS
Mrs. Martha Jansenius Collins, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000. She was born on Feb. 19, 1939. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker who was devoted to her children, her family and her friends. She was a Christian who took great joy in serving others. Mrs. Collins is and always will be the Queen of her children's hearts and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband, Herbert Collins of Warner Robins, Ga.; eight children: J. Maria Little and her husband Rick of Omaha, Neb., Desmond Pascal and his wife Victoria, Phillip Pascal, Hubert Pascal, Sheila Diamonte of Wichita, Kan., Kay - Kay Pascal, Raymond John Pascal, and Pauline Chatham; twenty-one grandchildren: Tammy S. Morgan, April L. Ledbetter, Timmy A. Little, Rickey A. Little, Jessica L. Pascal, Christopher D. Pascal, Ashtin M. Diamonte, Paul A. Diamonte, Mario J. Diamonte, Charles L. Diamonte, Erimus B. Mills, Jacob T. Mills, B. Clay Pascal, Julia A. Pascal, Keifer S. Chatham, Kathy Woodham, Karen Woodham, Shelly Woodham, Serena Woodham, Sarah L. Pascal, and Megan Pascal; three great-grandchildren: Derrick T. Morgan, Dakota S. Morgan, and Kelby R. Ledbetter; her father, Hubert Jansenius; sisters: Betty J. Hensley and her husband Lawrence E. and Julia Annette Montin; and brothers: H. B. Jansenius, Jr. and Arthur Jansenius and his wife Annette. She was preceded in death by: her Mother, Clayton Louise Jansenius and a brother, Raymond Lee Jansenius. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 7 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the graveside from 1 to 2 p.m., an hour prior to service time.

ROBERT HUCKS
Mr. Robert Hucks, age 52, of 140 Elm Way, Panama City, Fla., died Wed., Jan. 5, 2000, at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. He has been a resident of the area for 18 years, coming here from Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mr. Hucks was retired from the U. S. Army and was Baptist by faith. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Karen Hucks of Panama City, Fla.; his daughters: Patricia St. Lawrence and her husband Matt of Ypsilanti, Mich., Carrie Hester of Ann Arbor, Mich., Kelly Addington and her husband Andy of Palm Coast, Fla., and Kristi Sanders and her husband Shane of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a son, Tommy Hester of Ypsilanti, Mich.; sisters: Angie Ayers and her husband Dean of Dillon, S.C., Joanne Bradley and her husband Bill of Enon Valley, Pa.; brothers: Hal Hucks and his wife Carol of Vero Beach, Fla., Layton Hucks of Goose Creek, S.C., Billy Joe Hucks and his wife Donna and Johnny Hucks, both of Monck Corner, S.C., and Harry Hucks and his wife Janet of N. Charleston, S.C.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday., Jan. 9 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Brogdon officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Jimmy Eldridge, Richard Eldridge, Charles Eldridge, Wayne Windham, Ron Daniel, and Carmel Dalton. Honorary pallbearers will include: Ann Freeman, Sara Leonard, Gwen Speigner, Julia Patterson, Pat Lee, Judi Grady, and Diane Robinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Jan. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
