MYRTIE LEE LOWE PIERCE
Mrs. Myrtie Lee Lowe Pierce, 76, of 5118 Harvey St., Callaway, went on to be with our Lord on Jan. 15, 2000, at Bay Medical Center. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1939, moving here from Bristol. She was the owner of Pierces Trailer Rentals in Callaway, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Callaway. She also was a charter member of the Parkway Lioness Club. She was preceded in death by her late husband, E.R. (Rab) Pierce Sr., her father and mother, John Lowe and Willie Mae Lowe Strickland of Bristol, four sisters and two brothers: Cora Lee Hill of Bristol, Gladys Dunn of Jacksonville, Fla., Rena May Birch of Tampa, Doris Holmes of Birmingham, Ala., Leon Lowe of Brooksville, and Sgt. Harvey Lowe of Eglin Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach. Mrs. Pierce is survived by two children, her son: Ernest R. Pierce Jr., and daughter, Peggy Dianne Pierce Lee and her husband Wayne Lee; daughter-in-law: Audrey Pierce; five grandchildren: Shannon Pierce Greve and husband Brandon, Ernest R. Pierce III (Trey), Joey Lee and wife Sonya, Chris Lee and wife Sherry and Jamie Lee; and one great-grandchild, Courtney Turner, all of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luther Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Ernest R. Pierce III "Trey," Joey Lee, Chris Lee, Wayne Barron, Pete Barron and Donnie Barron. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan 18, 2000. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Together We Grow (T.W. G.), First Baptist Church of Callaway, or Parkway Lioness Club.

GORDON RAE
Mr. Gordon Rae, 47, of Panama City Beach, died Friday evening, Jan. 14, 2000. Born in Scotland, he moved here in 1982 from West Palm Beach. He was employed by Sharp Carpet and Tile and was a member of the International Brick Layers and Allied Craftsmen Local No. 31 of Fort Lauderdale. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Rae was preceded in death by his father, William Rae, and a brother, James Rae. He is survived by his mother, Agnes Rae of Panama City Beach; one son, Scott Egan of Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter, Hayley Rae of Richmond, Va.; and one sister, Karen Rae-Sullivan of Panama City Beach. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gulfview Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Fillingim officiating.

Mrs. Dixie J. Sorrells, 66, of Panama City, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Belleglade, Fla., she was a hotel night auditor. Memorialization will be by cremation.

CAROLYN JEAN STRANGE
Mrs. Carolyn Jean Strange, daughter of Carmi (Crutchfield) Adams and the late Walter C. Crutchfield, both of Wewahitchka, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000. Mrs. Strange, 66, was a native of Wewahitchka and attended Honeyville United Methodist Church. She was employed by Century/Cobia Boats in Panama City for the past 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Strange of Wewahitchka; her mother, Carmi (Crutchfield) Adams, of Wewahitchka; one sister, Marylou Whitfield of Monticello; three daughters: Rebecca Whittle of Tallahassee, Cathy Wilson of Montgomery, Ala., and Teresa Mitchell of Deatsville, Ala.; one son, David Lee Boshell of Deatsville, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two stepdaughters; two stepsons; and one step-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Honeyville United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gus Howerton and David Taunton. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon prior to funeral services.

THOMAS "TOMMY" WILGUS WALTERS
Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Wilgus Walters, 55, of 801 Flight Ave., Panama City, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000 at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of the area and was Assembly of God by faith. Mr. Walters served his country in the U. S. Army and was employed as a police officer for the Coastal Systems Station. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Miracle Strip Bass Club. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Walters of Panama City; his mother: Lula Walters of Lynn Haven, Fla.; daughter, Sharon Roundtree of Panama City; sons: Donnie Walters and Ronnie Walters, both of Panama City; sisters: Blanche Barlow of Lynn Haven and Christine Harwell of Roundlake, Fla.; a brother, William Walters of Panama City Beach; and grandchildren: Morgan Walters, Malory Walters, Ronnie Walters Jr., Kara Walters and Tim Parkinson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Will Miers, Terry Melanphy, Walter Burnham, Al Anderson and Steve Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of the Miracle Strip Bass Club. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 18, 2000.

TEDDY M. BECK
Capt. Teddy M. Beck, 65, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was Protestant by faith. He was a boat captain with the Candy Fleet Corporation. Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Janice H. Beck of Panama City; five sons: Mitchell Beck, Steven Beck, Lamar Moody, John Moody and James Moody; five daughters: Michelle Beck, Samantha Beck Johnson, Darlen Cheney and husband Jason, Malissa Waters and husband Shawn, Angela Munan and husband Ed; one sister, Beverly Carothers and husband George; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a special cousin who was like a son, Robbie Fuller and a special friend, Bill Roache. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

GARY LEE COLLINS
Gary Lee Collins, age 15, of 7714 Santa Rosa Ave., Southport, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1990, coming here from Jasper, Ala. Gary was a freshman at Mosley High School. He was a wrestling fan, a Florida Gator fan, and enjoyed playing video games with his friends. Gary is survived by his parents, Jesse and Mary Kaye Bailey of Southport, Fla.; two brothers: Kirby Smith and Kelvin Robbins, both of Southport, Fla.; his maternal grandmother, Barbara A. Smith of Texas ; his aunts: Penny Bawcum of Birmingham, Ala., Peggy Caldwell of Buford, Ga.; and Patricia Honeycutt of Ala.; and uncles, Mark Smith of Texas and Paul Smith of Germany. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 19 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Hodges officiating.

ALEENE SINCLAIR FRANZ
Aleene Sinclair Franz, 93 of Chipley, Fla., died Jan. 17, 2000, in Jackson County Hospital in Marianna, Fla. She was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ill. Where she worked with Frank Lloyd Wright. She returned to Chipley to teach and retired after twenty-six years as the Washington County Art Supervisor, for the school system. She was a member of the Colonial Dames of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists, The Society of Ark and the Dove, The United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Delta Kappa Gamma. She is survived by her son, K. Sinclair Franz, M.D. and wife Angela of Marianna; four grandsons: Alexander S. Franz, Aaron J. Franz, Adam C. Franz, Andrew E. Franz and Megan and Jeffery J. McCall. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chipley. Funeral service will be Sunday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Chipley with the Rev. Buran F. Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemeter with Brown Funeral Home directing.

MARY ELIZABETH HARRISON
Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Harrison, 72, of Panama City, died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 18, 2000. She was the beloved spouse of Carlyle L. Harrison and the beloved mother of Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Harrison, Mark Carl Harrison, Carl Simeon Harrison and Paul Harrison. Mary will be cremated and put to rest in the Panama City Catholic Cemetery and she has asked for your prayers.

THOMAS E. JACKSON
Thomas E. Jackson "Pa-Paw", age 57, died peacefully at home, Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, after a brief illness with cancer. Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Opp, Ala. and had been a resident of Pensacola since 1972. He was the founder and President of Panhandle Boring and Trenching, Inc. which was established in 1976 and currently has locations in Pensacola, Milton, Chipley and Panama City. He was a member of Ferry Pass Masonic Lodge No. 348. His hobbies included fishing, restoring antique Mercury cars, watching Miami Dolphin football games and cooking delicious bar-b-que chicken. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Bessie Jackson; his brothers, Gerald and Earl Jackson; and nephew, Billy Jackson all from Opp, Ala. He was also preceded in death by his special father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Pearl Vickers of Graceville, Fla.; brother-in-law, Milton Vickers of Noma, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Sharon Phillips of Graceville. He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 1/2 years, Shirley Ann and loving family which included two sons, Eddie ( and wife Brenda), Greg (and wife Telka); daughter Jennifer (and fiance Dennis Walker); two brothers, Charles Jackson of Milton, Fla. and Wayne Jackson of Opp, Ala.; and nine grandchildren: Stephanie and Erin Foster, Ryan and Rachel Jackson; Ann Marie, Victoria, and Katherine Jackson; and Brooke and Layne Walker. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous other family members and friends. Many thanks to Dr. Sunnenberg and his staff at Sacred Heart Cancer Center, Dr. Angelo and staff, Hospice of Northwest Florida and many friends and relatives who offered their support during his illness. Funeral services will be ehld at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 19 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Elmore of Opp, Ala. and the Rev. Marcus Caraway of Graceville, Fla. officiating. Funeral will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Al Harris Sr., Al Harris Jr.; Robert Lewis, Terry Lynn, Randle Parson and Mike Seery. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Jackson, Ingram Jackson, Lavaughn Jackson, Michael Jackson, Ricky Jackson, Lynwood Johnson and Wayne Phillips. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida or the American Cancer Society. His family and friends will forever remember and cherish Tom's special smile and loving, generous ways.

JAMES B. KUYKENDALL
James B. KuyKendall, age 65 of Sevierville, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney KuyKendall, and a daughter, Michelle KuyKendall. Survivors include his wife, Joan Tackett KuyKendall; daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Curt Barnes, Dawn Kuykenall, Amanda and Jon Payne; sons, James C. KuyKendall and Christopher KuyKendall; nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Funeral service will be today, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. in Allen's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Large officiating. Interment will follow in Allen's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangement by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, Tenn.
