Mrs. Eulah L. Pippin, 74, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Fincastle, Ohio, she moved here in 1965 from Hillsboro, Ohio. She was a volunteer in community service and was Church of Christ by faith. Mrs. Pippin is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Pippin. She is survived by one sister, Lucille Whitacre of Hillsboro, Ohio; one grandchild, Joseph Colin Roush of Ocala; dear friends, David and Cleo Vincent of Southport. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Scott Dean and the nurses at Bay Medical Center's step-down unit.

THOMAS WILGUS WALTERS
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Wilgus Walters, age 55, of 801 Flight Ave., Panama City, Fla., who died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000 will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Will Miers, Terry Malamphy, Walter Burnham, Al Anderson, and Steve Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of the Miracle Strip Bass Club.

GILBERT BALL WESTON
Mr. Gilbert Ball Weston, 81, originally from Bellows Falls, Vt., and most recently of Panama City Beach, passed away at Gulf Coast Medical Center on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, after a short illness. A former resident of Summers Landing Retirement Club, he was a retired Army officer having served in World War II as a first lieutenant. He was formerly associated in the building material business with Dickert Lumber Company in Brundidge, Ala., and later in Panama City Beach where he moved in 1954. Before his retirement, he was an active member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church where he served in various positions. A beloved father and grandfather, he is survived by his six children: Bill Weston of Ramer, Ala., Rachael Wright of Panama City Beach, Beverly Hall of Rockwood, Tenn., Becky Boykin of Lynn Haven, Charlie Weston and Miriam Weston both of Panama City Beach; 10 grandchildren, eight great-granddaughters; three sisters: Miriam Murray, Rebecca Polidor and Isabel Davis all of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Herman West on Saxton Rivers, Vt. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Weaver officiating. Graveside services will follow in Brundidge, Ala., at 3 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Don Dickert, Fred Shields, Lawrence Bowden, Mike Thomas, Jack Dickert and Chuck Dickert. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dale McRee, Larry Buchanan and Red Barnes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Panama City this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. They will receive friends at the Dillard-Jackson-Bryan Funeral Home in Brundidge, Ala. on Thursday before the graveside service from 2 to 3 p.m.

ALYS E. ALSTOTT
Mrs. Alys E. Alstott, age 82, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000 at her home. She was born in Wayne County, Mich. on Jan. 23, 1917. Mrs. Alstott has been a resident of the area since 1989, coming here from Lansing, Mich. She was a charter member of Unit No. 356 Auxiliary of American Legion No. 356, a member for 27 years of the VFW, a member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 2185, and the Panama City Detachment of the Marine Corps League. She is survived by two Sisters, Arleine Mallory of Maryvile, Tenn. and Joyce Deutsch of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Acton Merrell of Howell, Mich.; and good friend and companion, James Bryant of Panama City, Fla. Mrs. Alstott was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Forrest Alstott; her twin Sister, Phyliss; and sister, Ila Herbst. A memorial service will scheduled at a later date.

TEDDY M. BECK
Capt. Teddy M. Beck, 65, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was Protestant by faith. He was a boat captain with the Candy Fleet Corporation. Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Janice H. Beck of Panama City; five sons: Mitchell Beck, Steven Beck, Lamar Moody, John Moody and James Moody; five daughters: Michelle Beck, Samantha Beck Johnson, Darlene Cheney and husband Jason, Malissa Waters and husband Shawn, Angela Munan and husband Ed; one sister, Beverly Carothers and husband George; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a special cousin who was like a son, Robbie Fuller and a special friend, Bill Roache. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

CHESTER JAMES HENDERSON
Chester James Henderson, 51, of 220 Plaza Drive, Daleville, Ala., departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2000, in an automobile accident. He was a native of Panama City. He was converted to the Methodist faith at a young age by joining St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Springfield, Fla. Mr. Henderson attended Bay County School. He furthered his education at Highland Park Community College in Atlanta, Ga. However, his education was temporarily interrupted by a sting in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and two Overseas Bars. Mr. Henderson was employed with the Federal Government at Fort Rucker, Ala., with the Department of Public Works. Mr. Henderson will be remembered for his caring and willingness to help others. Preceding him in death was his father, Benjamin Franklin Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife, Mattie Grinnon-Henderson; one devoted son, Ade' (Kimberly) Henderson of Detroit, Mich; one loving daughter, Lakiktha (David) Woods of Panama City; three loving granddaughters: Sydney Henderson of Detroit, Mich., Jasmine and Ciara Woods of Panama City; his mother, Luthel Henderson of Panama City; one brother, Lester Jr. (Lillian) Henderson of Valrico, Fla.; four sisters: Flossie (James) Coe of Ocala, Irma J. Ellington of Stone Mountain, Ga., Delphine King of Panama City; a devoted sister, Irene H. Bowen of Panama City; mother-in-law, Marian Carlisle Grinnon of Panama City; three brothers-in-law: James (Arlene) Walter of Panama City, Edward Grinnon of Stanford, Fla. and Roy (Gwendolyn) Grinnon of Riviera Beach, Fla.; four sisters-in-law: Annie R. (James) Dean and Rochella (Roy) Wilson of Panama City, Patricia A. Wellington of Fort Worth, Texas , and Jewel Grinnon of Grand Prairie, Texas ; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives; Special uncle, Marvin Green of Panama City; special uncle and aunt, President and Ida Carlisle of Enterprise, Ala.; special cousin, Charles Green Sr. of Thonotosassa, Fla.; a devoted friend and special cousin, Shun Sconier of Enterprise; very special friends: Jame Cortt of Meridian, Miss., and John Wesley of Detroit, Mich.; devoted and special friends, Arthur and Juanita Stephen and family of Daleville, Ala., Lynn and Linda Massalino of Lynn Haven. DAVID LONNIE CRANFORD
David Lonnie Cranford, 55, of 22307 Clark Road, Fountain, died Jan. 21, 2000 in his home. He was an aircraft mechanic for Pemco World Air Service in Dothan. He served in the United States Army during the Vietname War. He had been a resident of Bay County for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Lee and Violet Lorene Cranford, and brothers, Billy Cranford and Orville Cranford. He is survived by his wife, Florence E. Cranford of Fountain; two sons, David L. Cranford and Sean Jay Cranford of Enterprise, Ala.; daughter, Catrina Isbell of Dothan, Ala.; five sisters: Mary Lee Spurrier of Corsicana, Texas , Sybil Slocum of Desoto, Texas , Ruby Cummings of Rockwall, Texas , Betty Case of Dallas, Texas , Glenda King of Wilmer, Texas ; three brothers, Howard Cranford of Palmer, Texas , Thomas Cranford of Kaufman, Texas , James Cranford of Payne Springs, Texas ; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a donation to the Bay County Humane Society in memory of David Lonnie Cranford.
