RUSH WILLIAMS
Mr. Rush Williams, 89, of Blountstown, died Saturday Jan. 22, 2000 in the Jackson County Hospital in Marianna. Mr. Williams was born in Jackson County and had lived in Calhoun County most of his life. Rush was a self-employed plumber and electrician until his retirement and he also was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Williams was a member of the Blountstown United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Williams. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Tommy and Mary Ann Williams of Blountstown, Johnny and Brenda Williams of Tallahassee and Kenneth and Verna Mae Williams of Ocala; one brother, James Earl Williams of Waycross, Ga.; two sisters, Verna Bridges of Blountstown and Louise Tolar of Bristol; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2000 at 10 a.m. from the Blountstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Griffin and the Rev. Danny Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, Fla. All arrangements are under the direction of the Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.

MICHAEL 'MIKE' HOWARD STRAUSS
Mr. Michael "Mike" Howard Strauss, 60, of Panama City, died Jan 14, 2000 in a local hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 15, 1939 to Mildred and Irving, he was the owner of Restaurant Equipment Company, Inc. Mr. Strauss was the beloved brother of Beatrice, Alan, Jay and Ernie; dear brother-in-law to Sophie and Judy and his very best friend, Wendy. He was a special friend to many good people and his special canine companions. A private memorial service for the family will be held before sunset on Saturday, January 29. Mr. Strauss' ashes will be scattered upon the Gulf of Mexico. All friends and associates are invited to attend a sunset memorial at Sharky's. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Strauss. He will survive thanks to the ultimate gift of life, organ donation.

ROBERT EARL CONWAY
Mr. Robert Earl Conway, 82, of 503 Springfield Ave., Springfield, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Kittanning, Pa., he moved here in 1969 from Ford City, Pa., where he was a retired electrician after owning his own electrical appliance store. Mr. Conway was also a retired veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was Lutheran by faith. He is survived by his wife, Mary Conway of Springfield, Fla.; one son, Gary Conway and wife Linda of Goldfield, Nev.; one brother, Charles Hold of Fairfield, Calif.; two sisters, Donna Hay of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Ruth Meals of Bonita Springs, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Conway will be conducted this afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Chapel.

JAMES WILLIAM HADDOCK
Mr. James William Haddock, age 83, of Callaway, Fla., died on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Haddock was born in Washington County and had been a resident of Bay County since 1946. He was retired from civil service at Tyndall Air Force Base. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Parker Masonic Lodge No. 142, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Parker Chapter No. 96. He was a Shriner and a charter member of the Shaddai Temple. Mr. Haddock was protestant by faith. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, MaryNell Clark Haddock; one son, James Dennis Haddock and his wife Shirley of Panama City, Fla.; three daughters: Ms. Elna Hardy of Panama City, Fla., Ms. Patricia Hutchins of Callaway, Fla., Mrs. Mary Kay Null and her husband John of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Rufus Wright Haddock of Washington County, Fla.; four grandchildren: James Christopher Haddock, James Michael Hutchins, Alison Hardy-Wanika, LeighAnne Bender; and two great-grandchildren: Katherine Wanika, and Caleb Bender. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with masonic services provided by the Parker Masonic Lodge No. 142. The lodge will open one hour prior to the service. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers: Christopher Haddock, Michael Hutchins, Talmadge Wright, William Bender, Thomas Haddock and Hulon Wright. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 24.

JOSEPH IKEGUCHI JR.
Joseph Ikeguchi Jr., 48, of 3918 Enveti Court, Panama City, went on to be with our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1969, moving here from Long Beach, Calif. He was a major with the Department of Corrections and was Chief Correctional Counselor of the Panama City Community Correctional Center. Mr. Ikeguchi is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Joseph Ikeguchi; daughter, Michele Ikeguchi; parents, Joseph & Minako Ikeguchi; all of Panama City; sister, Ruby Wood of Costa Mesa, Calif., two brothers, Michael Ikeguchi of Columbus, Ind., David Ikeguchi of Sanford, Fla. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the National Cancer Institute at Betheseda, Md., Research Division, or Hospice of Northwest Florida, 502 N. MacArthur Ave., Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Joseph Ikeguchi.

Retired Col. Hugh Anderson Mozley, age 90, of Panama City, Fla., departed this life on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 24, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Doug Newton and the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with military Honors. Honorary pallbearers will include: Tommy Smith, Howard Sapp, Marion Nelson, Miles Harmon, Joe Tannehill, Frank McGee, Robert Green, Clyde King, Robert Walsh, and the First United Methodist Church Sunday School Class, and Beach Rotary Friends.

Mrs. Mae M. Wood, age 90, of 2622 E. 40th Court, Panama City, Fla., died on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at her residence. She has been a resident of the area since 1955 and was the former owner and operator of the Nomad Motel on Thomas Drive. Mrs. Wood was also a retired textile worker and a homemaker. She was a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church, and a former member of St. Andrew Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday Schools Class. Mrs. Wood is survived by her son, Clyde Smith and his wife Dorothy of Panama City; a sister, Lorene Gunn of Panama City; grandchildren: Michael D. Smith and his wife Linda of Eufaula, Ala., Alex C. Smith and his wife Marsha of Daphne, Ala., Edward L. Smith Jr. and his wife Veda of Panama City Beach, Fla., Sandra Gordy and her husband Steve of Phenix City, Ala., Alan Smith and his wife Patty of Phenix City, Ala., Patricia Hall and her husband John of Watertown, N.Y.; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wood, and a son, Edward L. Smith Sr. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 25 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Morris Denman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Donnie Powell, John Byrne, Craig Graves, David Jochum, Ray Vann, and Ray Murphy. ASBERRY ALLEN JR.
Deacon Asberry Allen Jr., 64, of 815 Bay Ave., died Jan. 20, 2000, in his home. He was a native of Blakely, Ga., and a resident of Panama City for many years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon's Board until his health failed. He was a loyal and dedicated faithful working member. He is survived by his loving wife, Mother Susie Allen of Panama City; son, Ricky Allen (Wendy); daughter, Charlotte Allen and Reggie both of Panama City; a loving step-mother, Mrs. Johnny Florence Jackson of Blakely, Ga.; two sisters, Inez Sand of West Palm Beach and Sally Mae Hawkins of Blakely, Ga.; a special sister-in-law, Mattie Small of Panama City; a special niece, Laura Ann Green of Panama City; five brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Deason Allen will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. in Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Larry Martin and Elder James Hamilton, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. A wake service will be held this evening at the church to 6 to 8 p.m. and the remains will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. TURA LEA BUZZETT
Tura Lea Buzzett, 83, of Apalachicola, died Monday morning, Jan. 24, 2000, in her son's home in Apalachicola. A native of Hosford, Fla., Mrs. Buzzett had lived most her life in Apalachicola. She was a homemaker, the long-lime treasurer for Franklin County Democratic Committee, a member of Philaco Club, and was very actively involved in community affairs and activities. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the wife of the late John Joe Buzzett St. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Buzzett (Delores) of Apalachicola; her daughter, Mary Carmel Griffin (Frank) of Port St. Joe; her brother, Herschel Albert "Bub" Adkisson of Beaumont, Texas ; three grandchildren: Tena Browne of Panama City, Kyle Griffin of Port St. Joe and Tiffany Lemieux of Germany; and three great-grandchildren: Holley Browne, Casey and Kristen Lemieux. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. EST, today, Jan. 25 at Kelley Funeral Home Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. EST at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Apalachicola. Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Chapter of Big Bend Hospice, P.O. Box 618, Carrabelle, Fla. 32322, in memory of Tura Lea Buzzett.

FRANCIS JOHN THOMAS CARDEN
Mr. Francis J. "Skipper" Carden, 68, of Panama City, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at his home. Skipper was born at San Blas, Fla., on March 27, 1931. He was a commercial fisherman and took his first boat as captain at he age of 14. He was known affectionately in the industry as "Little Skipper." He was a leader in developing fishing techniques and taught many fisherman these skills. Skipper fished all over the Gulf of Mexico and in several foreign countries. Mr. Carden was a Catholic by faith. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Carden of Panama City; three sons: Francis Michael Carden of Galveston, Texas , Robert J. Dozar and wife Lucy of Panama City; and Nova E. Dozar of Orange, Texas ; four daughters: Mary May of Lewiston, Ill., Sharon D. Carden of West Palm Beach, Fla., Yvonne C. Barnes of Brunswick, Ga., and Francis A. Ethington and husband Jeff of Orange, Texas ; three brothers: David Carden, Jimmy Carden of Panama City and Charles Carden of Lynn Haven; three sisters: Chris Long of Merced, Calif.. Lee Ellen Kayser of Panama City and Jean Battermanof of Memphis, Tenn; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by one son, Stephen C. Carden. Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. in Kent Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Kenyon R. Gandy officiating. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Our Lady of the Rosary Building Fund. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Our Lady of the Rosary.
