JAMES ROY SHELNUT
Retired Lt. Colonel James Roy Shelnut, 72, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in a local hospital. Jim was born in Cleveland, Ga., on Nov. 20, 1927. He retired in Bay County after 27 years of service to his country, which included the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Jim was also employed here in Panama City by Ole Lighthouse Marine and most recently H & R Block. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Martha Bishop Shelnut of Lynn Haven; daughter, Deborah Ruth Lee and husband Mickey of Lake Worth, Fla.; son, James Robley Shelnut and his wife Chris of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; son, Richard Jeffrey Shelnut and his wife Cindy, of Delray Beach, Fla.; grandsons: David Ray Shurling of Fayetteville, N.C., James Jeffrey and Lee Jeffrey Shelnut of Delray Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Layne officiating with full military rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a donation to the American Lung Association in memory of Mr. Shelnut.

ROBERT LINDBURG TURNER
Mr. Robert Lindburg Turner, age 70, of 22710 Coral Ave., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1965, coming here from Birmingham, Ala. Mr. Turner worked 21 years for the Bay County School Board, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the 28th Street Baptist Church of Birmingham, Ala., and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Birmingham, Ala. Mr. Turner served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Ellie Turner of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Charlotte Purvis and her husband Bobby of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a son, Kenneth Turner and his wife Kay of Panama City Beach, Fla.; granddaughters: Michele Jordan and her husband Clayton and Mattie Turner, all of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Chris Purvis and his wife Brandi of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Jordan of Panama City Beach, Fla. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a son, Mark Turner. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are: Chandler Dodenhoff, Eddie Joe Comerford, Bobby Carlton, John Combs, Horace Brannum, Cabot Hogges, Tommy St. Amant, Larry Bolinger, Richard L'Huillier and Mike Helbling. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, today, Jan. 28 from 6 until 8 p.m.

ROBERT C. BLUE
Mr. Robert C. Blue, age 87, of 209 E. Nelson Ave., DeFuniak Springs, Fla., died early Friday morning, Jan. 28, 2000. Mr. Blue was a resident and businessman of DeFuniak Springs since 1946. He owned and operated Blue Motor and Equipment Company, an automobile truck and tractor dealership, for many years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Mae Bean Blue. Mr. Blue is survived by one brother, C.V. Blue of Crestview, Fla.; three sisters: Gladys Tolson and Evelyn Gershon of Pensacola, Fla., and Vera Kelly of California; two sons, Rob Blue and wife Susan and Bill Blue and wife Betty; four grandchildren: Bonnie Blue of Houston, Texas , Jill Blue of Tallahassee, Fla., Robbie Blue of Panama City, Fla., and Erin Blue of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs with the Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Robert C. Blue to the First United Methodist Church or to a charity of their choice. RUDOLPH BRADLEY
Mr. Rudolph Bradley, age 70, a resident of 3021 South Oates St., Dothan, Ala., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 28, 2000. He passed away after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 29, 2000 at the Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Mann and the Rev. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Panama City, Fla., with Ward-Wilson Funeral Home directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to Selma Baptist Church Building Fund, 3255 South Park Ave., Dothan, Ala. 36301. Mr. Bradley was born on July 26, 1929 in Troy, Ala., where he lived until 1949 at which time he moved to Dothan. He retired from Nabisco Corp. and Roche Laboratories Inc. He also served for 26 years with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary. He was a very faithful member of Selma Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Bradley, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Bradley. Survivors include son, William Bradley, Panama City, Fla.; two sisters and brother-in-law: Edna and Ervin Pinckard, Troy, Ala., Emma Gayle Bradley, Dothan, Ala.; five aunts: Callie Barnes, Phenix City, Ala., Ester Gibson, Troy, Ala., Gerald Bundy, Troy, Ala., Julia Davis, Goshen, Ala., Betty McDonald and husband John, Albany, Ga.; brother-in-law and wife, Jack and Christine Wilson, Albany, Ga.; a "very" special friend, Clara Clark, Dothan, Ala.; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Melvin Wilkes, Raymond Benton, Hayward Dorman, James Grissett, Glen Paul, Stephen Holland. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Raymond Benton Sunday School Class, Nabisco Inc., F.H.P. and F.H.P.A. Auxiliary and L.P. Robertson.

Ms. Brenda J. (Duhart) Dudley, 42, of 729 Cactus Ave., died Jan. 25, 2000 in a local nursing center. Funeral services for Ms. Dudley will be held today, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m. in the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church with Minister Xerxes M. Snell officiating, the Rev. O.C. Williams, pastor. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. The body will lie in state today at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church from 10 a.m. until service time. George Ray Harville, 53, of Panama City, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000 in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1987, moving here from Bay Minette, Ala. He was a truck driver for Emmitt Smith Trucking Company. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Jewell Halstead; son, James Ray Harville; three grandchildren: Kristina, Brittany and Courtney Halstead; three sisters: Emmajean Connor, all of Panama City, Kathy Harville of Bay Minette, Ala., and Julie Hadley of Rabun, Ala.; two brothers, Lloyd Harville and Donnie Harville of Bay Minette, Ala. Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Horseneck Holiness Church with Brother Joe Billy Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Perdido, Ala.

MARK LANE KELLEY
Mr. Mark Lane Kelley, age 44, of 4427 Fletcher St., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000 in Calhoun County, as the result of a hunting accident. He was a lifetime resident of the area, a member of Boilermakers Local #199, and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mark loved hunting and fishing and being with his family. He was such a devoted and loving husband, father, stepfather, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife, Mary Glenn Kelley of Panama City, Fla.; two sons, Justin Lane Kelley and Jason Ian Kelley, both of Panama City, Fla.; stepsons, Jeptha Alan Davis and Taylor Lee Davis, both of Albertville, Ala.; mother, Kathryn Lane Kelley of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Jennifer Kay Alford and her husband Dan of Inlet Beach, Fla.; brothers: Jerry Elliot Kelley and his wife Margie, Jimmy Ray Kelley and his wife Petra, and Gary Steven Kelley and his wife Gale, all of Panama City, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott Kelley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Moore and the Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Jimmy Saliba, Clayton Young, Reid Bauman, Larry Snellgrove, Wayne Beals and Randy Richburg. Vaughn Neves, 81, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000 in his home. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1956, moving here from Tallahassee, Fla. After moving to Panama City, he bought the Barq's Bottling Company on 6th Street. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie James Neves. He is survived by three sons: Richard Neves and his wife Mary Sue, Robert Neves and his wife Janice, all of Lynn Haven, James Donald Neves of Shelby, Ala.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Santana Gosa of Camden, Ark., Mayflower Brazzel of Shreveport, La.; and a brother, Prince Neves of St. Louis, Mo. He would like to say goodbye to special friends Jimmy Williams of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Joyce Marston of Tallahassee, Fla. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dennis Pledger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders, P.O. Box 15554, Panama City, Fla. 32406 in memory of Vaughn Neves.
