JAMES HUTCHINSON 'HUTCH' JACKSON
Mr. James Hutchinson "Hutch" Jackson, age 85, a long time resident of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sat., Jan. 29, 2000, at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Jackson was a Drug Salesman for McKisson and Robbins for 45 years, graduated from Murphy High School in 1932, member of the Convention City Lions and Panama City Lions Club for over 40 years. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the L.L.L. Sunday School Class. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Audrey Jackson; his daughter, Mrs. Glenda Wills and husband Michael of Covington, Tenn.; a grandson, David Jackson Wills of Slidell, La.; several nieces and nephews in Mobile, Ala. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel of Love.

VIRGINIA CHRISTY
Mrs. Virginia "Aunt Jinks" Christy, 70, of 104 Marin Drive, Panama City, Fla., went to be with her Lord and Master Monday morning, Jan. 31, 2000 at her daughter's home. Born in Jefferson County, Fla., she moved here in 1988 from Tallahassee, Fla. She retired from the State of Florida as a Deputy Executive Director after 30 years of service. Her responsibility was to work with the budget for all of the community colleges in the State of Florida. Mrs. Christy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, the Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class and was the teacher for several years before she became ill. She is preceded in death by her husband, William George Christy. Mrs. Christy is survived by one daughter, Vicky Christy Nichols and husband Ronnie of Panama City, Fla.; one brother, Richard Williams of Wacissa, Fla.; four sisters, Stella Carter of Gainesville, Fla., Elverie Chapin and Semmie Boland both of Tallahassee, Fla., Alliree Walker of Wacissa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christy Michelle Carpenter and husband Randy, Stephen Wesley Nichols and Gregory Lynn Nichols all of Panama City, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Elisabeth Carpenter and Audrey Janel Carpenter both of Panama City, Fla.; three nephews and four nieces. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Edwards, the Rev. Wes Weekley and the Rev. W.T. Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Christy's grandsons and family members will serve as pallbearers: Tommy Lamar, Tom Gillman, Steve Nichols, Greg Nichols, Randy Carpenter and Harry "Chip" Chapin. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family will be staying at the home of Vicky and Ronnie Nichols, 2422 Thames Drive, Hiland Park.

CONSTANCE DOBBINS
Constance Dobbins, 70, of 24 Harrison Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000. She had been a resident of Panama City for the past year moving here from Runnelstown, Miss. She was a retired caseworker for the Department of Welfare in Mississippi. She was a member of the Petal Chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy McKee of Panama City; son, Mike Dobbins of Petal, Miss.; three grandchildren, Chelsie Dobbins, Adam Dobbins, Megan McKee. Funeral services will be held Thursday in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Richton, Miss. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery in Richton. The family will receive friends at the Jones Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

NANETTE 'NAN' BARNES DOWLING
Nanette "Nan" Barnes Dowling, 79, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in a Gulf Breeze nursing home. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1963 moving here from Colorado Springs, Colo., before moving to Gulf Breeze, Fla., two years ago. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society and was chairperson of bingo committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Patrick Dowling. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hilton and her husband, Carl of Lebanon, Pa., Stephanie Music and her husband, Mark of Navarre, Fla., three grandchildren, Gregory Harting, Nanette Harting, Patrick Music; and a great-granddaughter, Erin Harting. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Marty Bratek officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Fort Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary service to be held at 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Alzheimers Family Services, 3454 E. Olive Road, Pensacola, FL 32514, in memory of Nan Dowling.

Mrs. Faye Carnes Ganeyof 12725 Davies Road, Fountain, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the Bay County area for most of her life. Mrs. Ganey worked for Dr. Mubarak in his business office. She enjoyed animals and raised them as a profession. She owned Rachel's Bird House-Exotic Birds for 12 years in Fountain, Fla. Mrs. Ganey is survived by her husband of 20 years: David Ganey of Fountain, Fla.; daughters: Beth Miller and her husband John of Sand Hills, Fla., and Marji Washam of Panama City, Fla.; a son: David Palmer of Eufaula, Ala.; a sister: Pat Dalton and her husband John of Utah; brothers: George Carnes and his wife Mary of Omaha, Neb., Herbert Carnes and his wife Barbara of Omaha, Neb., and Wilson Carnes and his wife Debbie of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandchildren: Danielle Washam, Christi Palmer, Micha Miller, and Rachel Miller; and a great-grandson: Steven Michael. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., today, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 1, 2000 from 5 until 7 p.m., two hours prior to service time.

EDWARD GRINNON SR.
Mr. Edward Grinnon Sr., 57, or 1701 West 13th St., Sanford, Fla., departed this life on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000. He was a native of Panama City, Fla., and later moved to Sanford, Fla., until his death. He attended the Bay County School. Mr. Grinnon is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Woodard, his father, Matt Grinnon, one sister, Molly Cile Norris, and one daughter, Doris Grinnon. He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons: Edward Grinnon II, Marvin Grinnon, and Edward Grinnon III; two daughters, Mattie Bell Grinnon and Angela Grinnon, three brothers: James (Arlene) Walter and Richard L. Woodard, both of Panama City, Fla., Roy (Gwendolyn) Grinnon of Riviera Beach, Fla.; five sisters: Annie R. (James) Dean and Rochella (Roy) Wilson of Panama City, Fla., Patricia A. Wellington of Fort Worth, Texas , Jewel Grinnon of Grand Prairie, Texas and Mattie M. Grinnon-Henderson of Daleville, Ala.; a dear and devoted lady who he called "Ma Dear," Mariah Grinnon of Panama City, Fla.; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives. Graveside service for Mr. Edward Grinnon will be held today, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. in the Hillside Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Harper officiating. Interment will follow.

Mrs. Ruth C. Harrington, age 81, of 2123 West 29th Court, Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at a local nursing center. She had lived in the area for 16 years, coming here from Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Harrington was retired from Civil Services, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was survived by her sisters: Dorothy Y. Roberts of Panama City, Fla., and R. Evelyn Sindledecker of Fairmont, W.V.; a nephew: Warren Kline and his wife Judy of Panama City, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by her husband: Fred Harrington. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hayes officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Feb. 1, 2000, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

JAMES EUGENE HOWARD
Mr. James Eugene Howard, age 77, of 2152 Briarwood Circle, Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at his home. Mr. Howard had been a resident of Bay County since 1964 coming here from Fort Walton Beach, Fla. He served with the U.S. Army in the Phillipine Islands during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He then re-enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 Mr. Howard began a career with the U.S. Postal Services and retired in 1988. He was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church, a member of the Oakland Terrace Mens Club. Mr. Howard is survived by his wife: Mrs. Verna Howard of Panama City, Fla.; his sons: Mr. Michael Howard & wife Debra of Nampa, Idaho, Mr. Gary Harmon of Gulfport, Miss, Mr. Stephen Harmon & wife Mary of Montgomery, Ala., and Mr. David Harmon of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter: Mrs. Sandra Zurita of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren: Erika and Brenna Harmon of Long Beach, Miss., Stephanie, and Becky Harmon of Montgomery, Ala., Patrick Zurita of Panama City, Fla., Kinsey Howard of Nampa, Idaho, and David Carmichael of Boise, Idaho; two brothers: Mr. James Howard of Berea, Ky., and Mr. Jesse Howard of Hazard, Ky.; four sisters: Mrs. Maxine Stiens, Mrs. Thurstine Appleby, and Mrs. Wilma Jean Young, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Shirley Snowden of Cold Springs, Ky. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Asked to serve to serve as active pallbearers are: Roy Turner, Joe Alexander, Gordon Anglin, Jerry Singletary, Bob Davis, and Milton Jordan. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are: members of Andrews Men Sunday School Class of St. Andrew Baptist Church, the Friday Workers in the St. Andrew Baptist Church Benevalence Center. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bay Medical Hospice or the St. Andrew Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mrs. Eugenia C. Mason, age 74, of 401 Spring Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area for 50 years and was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker and worked in their grocery store, the Seven-Eleven Curb Market for many years. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara McCrary and her husband John and Jeanie N. Bishop, all of Panama City, Fla.; a son: Clinton Mason of Panama City, Fla.; sisters: Thelma Benton and her husband Richard of Fort Worth, Texas , and Annabell Wilkes and her husband Kenneth of Hurst, Texas ; brothers: Charlie Champlin and his wife Geneva of Hurst, Texas , and Arthur Champlin and his wife Louise of Fort Worth, Texas ; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: George T. Mason. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hilton Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 1, 2000, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
