MARTIEL SHARPE BONNER
Mrs. Martiel Sharpe Bonner, 89, of 207 S. Claire Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Thursday morning, Feb. 3, 2000, at her home. Born in Headland, Ala., she moved here in 1949. She was the first director of nursing of Bay Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Panama City. She was a veteran of World War II, serving as a captain in the Army Nurse Corps. in North Africa and Italy, where she was the chief nurse of a station hospital. She was a past director of the local chapter of the American Red Cross and was a member of the Panama City Women's Club. Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carl Bonner Sr. She is survived by one son, Joseph Carl Bonner Jr. and wife Donna of Milton, Fla.; one daughter, Beverly Bonner Frick of Tallahassee, Fla.; three grandchildren: Benjamin Frick and wife Dana of Jacksonville, Fla., Susannah Frick of Tallahassee, Fla., and Stacey Bonner Lockett and husband Jeff of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted today, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Walter Cathey officiating. Graveside services will follow in Headland, Ala., at Baptist Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chuck Hammett, Norman Griffin, Charlie Burgess, Tom Bingham, Julian Bennett and Charlie Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Duncan, Les Jinks, Carl Russ, Paul Boswell, Charlie Abbott and Johnny Reaver.

KENNETH I. BUCHER
Kenneth I. (Ken) Bucher, 86, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away in a local hospital Friday, Feb. 4, 2000. He had been a resident of Lynn Haven, Fla., since 1974, moving here from Peoria, Ill. He was a retired school teacher and administrator of 38 years. Ken was a very active Rotarian having been past president of both Lynn Haven and Panama City Beach Rotary Clubs. He took great pride in having had 25 years perfect attendance with this fine organization. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Bucher; son, John William Bucher; and one brother and sister. Mr. Bucher is survived by a daughter, Jane Bucher Smith and husband Charles of Lynn Haven, Fla.; son, Jim Bucher and wife Lynn of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren: Chuck and Kenneth Bucher Smith of Lynn Haven, Fla., Jeff and Sarah Bucher of Peoria, Ill.; and sister, Ferne Scott of El Paso, Ill. There will be a graveside service Sunday at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. R.C. Warren officiating. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are all present and former Rotarians. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rotary International, c/o Rotary Club of Panama City-Northside, P.O. Box 16544 Panama City, Fla. 32406. The family will be staying at the residence of Ken Bucher, 1205 Massachusetts Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla.

ELIZABETH L. HAWKINS
Mrs. Elizabeth L. Hawkins, age 73, of 5427-B Hilltop Ave., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 at her home. She had been a resident of the area for two years, coming here from Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Hawkins was a retired secretary with NASA and was Methodist by faith. She is survived by her daughters, Leta Armstrong-Mazzone of Panama City Beach, Fla., Elizabeth Armstrong of Fayetteville, Ark., and Tammy Holland of Duluth, Minn.; a brother, Homer McMahon of Greenbelt, Md.; and five grandchildren: Alexander Armstrong of Panama City, Damien Armstrong and Jasmine Armstrong, both of Fayetteville, Ark., and Matthew Holland and Sara Holland, both of Duluth, Minn. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. today, Feb. 5, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Jorge Vinicid Madrid, 40, of Mexico Beach, Fla. died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 in a local hospital. He was born in Guatemala and was a plumber by trade. He worked with P&T Plumbing. A visitation will be held today, Feb. 5, from noon to 4 p.m. EST in Gilmore-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel.

A memorial service for Mayza Hall Penewitt, 95, of Panama City, Fla., who died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000 in a local nursing home will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Newton officiating. LORA IRENE RAMSEY
Lora Irene Ramsey, 85, of St. Joe Beach, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000 in Gulf Pines Hospital. She was a Florida native, born in Calhoun County, and had been a resident of Gulf County since 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church. She was the daughter of the late Walter Samuel Newsom and Clara Bertha Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Ramsey; and a son, Vernon L. Ramsey. She is survived by two sons, Houston E. and wife Francis L. Ramsey, Preston D. and wife Sharon F. Ramsey both of Port St. Joe; three sisters: Ruby Watford, Hazel Bridwell and Ruth Blackburn; two brothers, J.W. and Riley Sapp, all of Pensacola; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. EST in Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dave Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Graveside services for Mr. Riegler, age 61, of Ocala, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. He was a sales manager for chemical industry. He is survived by his wife, Martha Riegler; one daughter, Patricia D. Riegler; two sons, Robert Riegler and Sherman Riegler; one brother, William G. Riegler; two sister-in-laws, Jean Morris and Lillian Alderman; and two grandchildren.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hiers Memorial Chapel at TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O. ARICE SALLET
Mr. Arice Sallet, 65, of 1143 Harris Ave., departed this earthly life Feb. 1, 2000 at Bay Medical Center. Arice was the tenth child born to the late Jack and Mulvater Sallet. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Dumpson and Janie Washington ; three brothers: Jack, John and Henry Sallet. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing one son, Kent Isacc Sallett; a very loving, devoted and caring sister, Della (John) Brown of Panama City, Amy (Alvin) Baker of Gainesville; one sister-in-law, Betty Sallet of Tampa; god sister, Veronia Watson of Gainesville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Arice Sallett will be today, Feb. 5, at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Hamilton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 1143 Harris Ave.

LONNIE F. TURNER
Mr. Lonnie F. Turner, age 92, of 604 Indiana Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla., died Fri., Feb. 4, 2000 at a local nursing home. He has been a lifetime resident of the area and was the pharmacist and owner of Kings Drug. Store. He was also a deacon at the Kingswood Baptist Church. Mr. Turner is survived by his daughter, Joanne Cowan and her husband Walter of Southport, Fla.; granddaughter, Cheryl Kross of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Bethany Kross of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; great-grandson, Robert Donaldson of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; step-grandchildren: Cristine Turner and Walter Cowan III, both of Panama City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joel Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mickey Turner, Charles Turner, Casey Jones, John Kross, Robert Donaldson and David Cassiday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kingswood Baptist Church Building Fund.
