Mrs. Fannie L. Fleming, 80, of Highland Park passed away Friday evening at Gulf Coast Convalescent Center, she moved to Panama City in 1986 from Walton County and was a member of the Clear Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Fleming is predeceased by two grandchildren Nanona M. Rominger and Mathew Gay. She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Fleming; one son, James Randy Fleming and wife Cynthia of Panama City; three daughters: Marie Guthrie and husband Charles of Lynn Haven, Frances Imogene Holmes and husband James of Fort Walton Beach, Shirley Paul and husband Jackie of Baker; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandhildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 14, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Johnston and the Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., the family will be gathering at the home of Mr. Wilburn Fleming.

CALVIN D. HOWRIGAN
Calvin D. Howrigan, 74, of Palmetto, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Born in Colchester, Vt., he moved to Palmetto in 1997 from Panama City. He was an electrical engineer in radio and television and served in the Army during World War II. He founded Bay Office Supply in 1974 and retired in 1994 to Deer Point Lake. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances C. Howrigan; one son, Randy A. Howrigan of Palmetto; and one daughter, Dena E. Howrigan of Clearwater. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. John Brannon officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Bay Medical Center Hospice in memory of Calvin Howrigan.

NELSON ARTHUR 'TED' HUMPHRIES
Mr. Nelson Arthur "Ted" Humphries, 77, of Panama City Beach, died Wednesday Feb. 9, 2000 in a local hospital. Born in Frome Somerset, England, he moved here in 1979 from Atlanta, Ga., and was Episcopal by faith. He was an engineer with Boeing in Seattle and worked with Aerojet and Columbia Research. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Royal Air Force where he served with distinction during the Battle of Britain. Mr. Humphries is survived by his wife, Gertrude Mary Humphries of Panama City Beach; and one son, Anthony Stephen Humphries of Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted today, Feb. 13, 2000 at 3:30 p.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Halstead officiating.

PEARLE L. O'SHIELDS
Mrs. Pearle Lancaster O'Shields, 83, of 1001 West 12th St., Panama City, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, in Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union, S.C., after an extended illness. She was born in Union County, S.C., on June 10, 1916, a daughter of the late L.L. and Carrie Burgess Lancaster. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City where she was active in the church choir and the Sunday school, and was a member of the Panama City Woman's Club. Mrs. O'Shields was retired from the Bay County School system. She is survived by her husband, Horace T. O'Shields of Panama City; a son, John L. O'Shields of Jonesville, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000 at 5 p.m. in the C.C. Moore Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating.

BERTHA MAE 'BERT' CULLIP
Mrs. Bertha Mae "Bert" Cullip, age 85, of 5898 Pinetree Road, Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at a local nursing home. She has been a resident of the area since 1934, coming here from Alford, Fla. She is survived by a brother, William "Buster" Kitchens of Springfield, Fla.; nephews: Richard Kitchens of Chicago, Ill., Andrew Kitchens of Cincinnati, Ohio, William "Billy" Kitchens of Thomasville, Ga., and James Kitchens of Panama City, Fla.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Feb. 14, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Leisz officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Lee Griffin, Lee Rinehart, Tommy Riley, Gene Williams, Steve Jones, and Don Brande.

ROBERT J. 'BOB' DILLON
Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Dillon, age 73 of 4006 Brently Circle, Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at his home. Mr. Dillon had been a resident of Bay County for four years, coming here from Hempstead, N.Y. He was retired Senior Operations Controller for TWA, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church. Mr. Dillon is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosanna Dillon of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Jason C. Dillon of Providence, R.I.; a grandson, Kyler B. Dillon of Providence, R.I.; two brothers, Ret. Col. James S. Dillon of Panama City, Fla., and Donald J. Dillon of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters: Mary Starkey of Barstow, Calif., Margaret Gaffrey of Minneapolis, Minn., Rosalie Bogler of Overland Park, Kan., and Gloria Bounds of Medical Lake, Wash., and his beloved cat McGee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the St. John's Catholic Church with Father George Zieba, CR officiating with interment following at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: John Nichols, Jerry Carter, Jimmy Davis, Sal Ciribisi, John Daly, and Mark Pittman. A rosary will be read at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 14, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Feb. 14. Contribution in lieu of flowers to the Parkinson's Foundation or St. John's Catholic Church.

WILMA LAVINIA RODGERS EVANS
Wilma Lavinia Rodgers Evans, 81, formerly of Panama City, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in a Virginia Beach, Va., hospital. She was born in West Bay, Fla., the daughter of John and Ora Rodgers. She had been a lifelong resident of Panama City before moving to Virginia Beach seven months ago. She was a member of the West Bay Advent Christian Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class of Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bayard Harley Evans in 1992, and a son, James Robert Evans in 1999. She is survived by a son, John Enos Evans and his wife, Virginia of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Ann Knight of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. Private family graveside services will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

PAULINE MALLARD MCCAY
Pauline Mallard McCay, of 501 Kraft Ave., Panama City, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in a local nursing home. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara F. Hall of Hillsville, Va.; son, Frank "Bud" Mallard of Plant City, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

GEORGE F. AUGUSTINE
Mr. George F. Augustine, age 78, of Youngstown, died Friday. Mr. Augustine was born in Patchogue, N.Y., and has lived in Youngstown since 1987 after moving from Sebring, Fla. He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of American Legion where he had served as a past commander. He was a retired auxiliary highway patrol and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include one son, James Augustine of Youngstown; one daughter, Pauline Rowlston of Plantation; one brother, John Augustine of Bradenton; one sister, Lil Lloy of Patchogue; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 from St. Francis Catholic Church in Blountstown with Father John Selleck officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.
