Funeral services for Mr. Wesley Leemon McVay, 63, of Panama City will be held today at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Ace McVay and Kevin McVay officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Lane Spoonas, Paul Maund, Mike Yent, Terry Kilgore, Mickey McGinley, Jimmy Provost and Thomas Scott.

JAMES 'JIMMIE' HENRY PERKINS
Funeral services for Mr. James "Jimmie" Henry Perkins, 60, of 2860 Pine Crest St., Vernon, Fla., will be held today, Feb. 25, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Douglas and the Rev. Greg Hammack officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Mr. Perkins passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. Mr. Perkins is survived by his father, Johnnie R. Perkins of Vernon, Fla.; daughter, Guana Lee Forehand of Caryville, Fla.; sons, James Douglas Perkins of Caryville, Fla., and John Wesley Perkins of Vernon, Fla.; brother, Robert Ronald Perkins of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth Ann Glenn of Vernon, Fla.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Perkins; and brothers, Wallace L. Carter and Cecil Huell Perkins.

ELLEN DORIS-KATHRYN RAGLAND
Funeral services for Ellen Doris-Kathryn Ragland, 78, of Panama City, Fla., who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000 in a local hospital, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Richardson. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood, Calif.

ELIZABETH JOHNSON BROCK
Elizabeth Johnson Brock, of Panama City, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a retired operator for Southern Bell. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was preceded in death by her husband, Eurie Glenn Brock. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star St. Andrew Chapter, and was past matron of the Parker Chapter of Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Jo Anne Gordon and her husband George of Fort Pierce, Fla.; son, Jerry Mike Brock and his wife Joanne; three step-children: Larry Brock and his wife Jeanette of Newnan, Ga., Grey Brock and his wife Barbara of College Park, Ga., Joy Hughes of Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Williams of Panama City, Claudia Capicotto of Lakewood, Colo.; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church in memory of Elizabeth Brock.

LEON DELPIT CASEY
Mr. Leon Delpit Casey, age 77, of 45 Old Creek Road, Ponce De Leon, Fla., died, Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000 at his residence. He had been a resident of the Bay County area for more than 50 years, moving here from Dothan, Ala. Mr. Casey served his country in the U.S.M.C. during World War II. He worked as a postal employee and also was a safety inspector for the State of Florida. Mr. Casey also loved hunting, fishing and women. He is survived by his daughters, Anna Casey of Youngstown, Fla., and Kristina Casey of Amsterdam; sons, Dennis Casey of Italy and Jeb Casey of Biloxi, Miss.; and four grandchildren.

MARVIN ELMORE
Mr. Marvin Elmore, 51, of Panama City Beach and formerly of Atlanta, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2000 at his home after a two year struggle with Lou Gherig's disease. He was a native of Bay County and graduated from Bay High School and Florida State University. After college, he moved to New York City where he worked in the entertainment field for ten years. Moving then to Atlanta, he started his own interior design and floral business, becoming one of the city's most demanded designers. In addition to his Atlanta business, he was the co-producer of three off-Broadway musicals, the most recent of which opened just one day after his death. After becoming ill, Marvin closed his business in Atlanta, and moved to Panama City to be near his family and friends. He is survived by one sister, Mishelle Gorman and husband Joe; two nephews, Brian Taylor and wife Joanna and Russel Taylor, all of Panama City. Graveside funeral services will be held today, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Mr. Steve Southerland officiating. A memorial service is planned for a later date in Atlanta. Those desiring to do so, may make a donation in Marvin's name to the MDA Foundation.

EARL JOHN GODWIN
Mr. Earl John Godwin, age 80, of 5811 E. State 22, Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1969, coming here from Dothan, Ala. Mr. Godwin served his country and retired from the U.S. Army as a chief warrant officer with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parker, former president of the Parker Lions Club, member of the VFW No. 2185, and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Godwin is survived by his wife, Lyverne Godwin of Callaway; a son, Robert E. Godwin, who is in the U.S. Army; stepdaughters, Brenda J. Ogletree and her husband Ricky of Savannah, Ga., and Yvonne Martin of Dalton, Ga.; stepsons: Greg McSpadden and his wife Kathy and Larry McSpadden, all of Cleveland, Tenn., and Donald McSpadden and his wife Linda of Auburn, Ala.; a brother, Gene T. Godwin and his wife Clara of Echo, Ala.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.

WILLIAM 'BUDDY' HUGHES SR.
Mr. William "Buddy" Hughes Sr., age 71, of 704 W. 17th St., Lynn Haven, Fla., went to be with Jesus Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000. He was a lifelong resident of Bay County. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Randolph and was employed as an accountant at Standard Oil Company for over twenty years. Until the time of his death, he owned and operated a swimming pool construction company. He was a member of Sand Hills Assembly of God Church. Mr. Hughes was a pioneer of Southern Gospel music in Bay County in the early 50s beginning with C.C. Wally and the Homefolks Quartet. Music was one of Mr. Hughes' true loves along with his wife of 53 years, Martha (Betty) Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Martha Hughes, and six children: Janet Mitchell and her husband Jerry, Bill Hughes Jr. and his wife Angie, Bruce Hughes and his wife Marsha, Greg Hughes and his wife Toni, Becky Curti and her husband Carl, and Cindi McGuire and her husband Gene, all of Panama City; thirteen grandchildren: Mark Mitchell, Rita Santana, Bill Hughes III, Dustin Hughes, Jon Hughes, Brandi Hughes, Greg Hughes Jr., Jennifer Hughes, Robert Curti Jr., Karen Curti, Kathy Adams, Chase Curti, and Gene McGuire III; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Bertha Norris, Addie Mae Clune and Christine Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kent Jeffery Hughes. Funeral services will held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Hiland Park Baptist Church with the Revs. Darwin Glass, Nixon Miller and Don Price officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are nephews: Gene Sellars, Tommy Norris, Steve Stewart, Gary Roebuck, Johnny West, James Stewart and Virgil Donn. Honorary pallbearers will include Mr. Hughes' grandsons. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be gathering at 2606 Parkwood Drive, Panama City, Fla.

FRANK JOHNSON
In loving memory of the late Mr. Frank Johnson, who was a resident in Bay County for many years. He worked for Panama Glass Company as a glacier until he relocated to Tallahassee in 1974 where he remained until he departed this life on Feb. 21, 2000 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held today, Feb. 26, in Panama City at 2 p.m. in Fellowship Church of Praise with Drs. David and Vernette Rosier, Pastors and the Rev. James Barker, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. CHRISTOPHER EDGAR JORDAN
Christopher Edgar, age 26, of Springfield, Fla., died unexpectedly as the result of a car accident on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000. Although, Christopher's life was short, it was full of friends and activities, centered around his family, school, and his work. He was a member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church. He attended Holy Nativity Episcopal School as a child, Everitt Middle School, and graduated from Bay High School in 1992. He attended Gulf Coast Community College for two years. He was employed by Sam's Club as a merchandiser. His hobbies were all things connected with electronics, reading, baseball, and he had an intense love for all music. His friends and their companionship were always important to him. Christopher is survived by his parents, Evelyn and Earnest Jordan of Panama City, Fla.; his sister, Merlynn Jordan of Pensacola; grandmothers: Lee Ollie Peoples of Orlando and Lois Abrams Jackson of Brewton, Ala.; two uncles, John N. Peoples II of Miami and Charles Jackson of Brewton; three aunts: Katherine P. Thompson, Mary P. Boone and Virginia P. Allen, all of Orlando; and numerous first cousins from various locations in Alabama and Florida. Christopher also leaves his very special friend, Alison Pippin, and his best friend, Kyle Ford, in addition to the many caring friends and co-workers and staff from Sam's Club. Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lois and Allen Jordan, and grandfather, John N. Peoples. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 at Holy Nativity Church with Fr. John Richardson. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Sunday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Christopher's name, may send their donation to the Holy Nativity Episcopal School Fund, 222 N. Bonita Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32401.
