Dorothy J. Wilferd left this earth on Dec. 15, 2003, to live in her Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior.

Leaving behind a loving family, she had lived all her life near Cottondale where she was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church. She retired from Kerr McGee Corporation.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Henry Brock.

She is survived by: two sons, Bland Wilferd and his wife Linda of Columbia, S.C., and Gene Wilferd and his wife Aethia of Cottondale; one daughter, Dawn Wilferd Boland and her husband Walter of Brandon; two brothers, Clinton Brock and his wife Jeannie of Havana, and Lloyd Brock and his wife Betty Lou of Tampa; one sister, Jearldine Cutchins of Southport; two sisters-in-law, Betty Brock of Sneads and Linda Brock of Cottondale; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Register officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Brown Funeral of Chipley directing.

Visitation will be held at Wachob Funeral Home today, Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations made to Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Ruby Mae Wilson, 79, of Malone died Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Malone and spent her life in Jackson County. She was retired from Jackson County Schools service in the food service department. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

She is survived by: Her husband of 55 years, Venson H. Wilson; one son, Steve Wilson of Malone; one daughter, Shelia Crosby and her husband Bill of Donalsonville, Ga.; one sister, Lessi Messer of Malone; and one grandson, Billy Crosby Jr. of Smyrna, Ga.

The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 19, at Lord Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Bradley officiating. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends today, Thursday, Dec. 18, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home, 3449 Caverns Road in Marianna.

Iris Alderman Rabon, 77, of Sneads died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the Chipola Nursing Pavilion in Marianna.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, retiring from the Security Department at Florida State Hospital. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sneads.

She is survived by: Two sons, Charles E. Rabon of Houston, Texas and David E. Rabon and his wife Olga of Sneads; two sisters, Eunice Ford of Sneads and Agnes Lawson of New York; three grandchildren, Nikki Rabon, Johnathon Rabon and Joseph Rabon; one great-grandson, Tyler Rabon; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., CST, Friday, Dec. 19, at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home Chapel in Sneads. Burial will be at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. CST today, Dec. 18, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 4349 Lafayette Street, Marianna, FL 32446.

Grace S. Adkison, 83, of Chipley died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the Washington County Convalescent Center in Chipley following an extended illness.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Wheeler, Sam Cox and John Howell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.

The family received friends at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or those wishing can make memorials to Covenant Hospice, 4349 Lafayette St. Bldg 2, Marianna, FL 32446.

Sarah "Beth" Sullivan, 54 of Greenwood died at her residence Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003.

She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of the Lovedale Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband "Larry" Sullivan in Sept. 2003.

She is survived by: Her children, Cheryl Mathis and Keith Parris of Greenwood, Loretta Shaw and her husband Darrell of Malone; one stepson, Roy Hires of Bonifay; her parents, Nathan and Lillie Tipton of Two Egg; one brother, Charles Tipton and his wife Dianne of Two Egg; one sister, Hilda Mills and her husband Donald of Marianna; seven grandchildren, Miranda and John David Clemmons, Tiffany and Takoda and Lorna Shaw, Brandon and Devan Hires; a special nephew, Nathan Tipton II; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Jarnigan officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bowen Sheppard Larkins, 84, of Panama City and a former resident of Liberty County died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Liberty County and had lived in Panama City since 1984. He retired from the United States Navy as a Navy Commander and Aviator with 40 years of service. During his military career he served in World War II and the Korean Conflict where he received several commendations including two Distinguished Flying Navy Crosses. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by: His wife, Mary C. Larkins of Panama City; four daughters, Mary Bowen Scallorn of Marianna, Dr. Carolyn Abitbol of Miami, Cathy Maude Parrish of Bristol, and Kelly Sheppard Larkins of Marianna; one sister, Ida Larkins of Bristol; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. EST at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol with Chaplain Floyd Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 21, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. CST at the Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.

Arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home.

Reginald Vincent Schmidt, 79, of Panama City died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Bay Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife Mary Schmidt of Panama City; five daughters; and five grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna.

Guyton Williams of 1014 8th Ave., Graceville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, in Graceville after an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Leila Webb Williams; and his wife, Ruth Bell Williams, who passed away in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Pepper Williams and his daughter, Marcia Lynn Williams.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1917, on a small farm near Bushnell, to the late Charlie and Leila Webb Williams. He moved to Graceville in 1947.

After receiving his MS degree from the University of Florida, he taught in the public schools in Jackson and Holmes counties before accepting a position iwth the State of Florida Department of Agriculture, where he was employed until his retirement in 1983.

Elected to the Graceville City Commission in 1986, he served as mayor from 1993 to 1995, and was again selected by his peers to serve as mayor from 1997 through Nov., 2003.

His public service to Graceville and to all of Northwest Florida also included membership in the Graceville Area Chamber of Commerce, serving on the board of directors; as a board member of the Jackson County Tourist Development Council; charter membership in the Graceville Historical Society; as an active lobbyists for the city of Graceville before the Florida Legislature; as a member of the Legislative Lobbying Committee of the Panhandle League of Cities; and as President of the Northwest Florida League of Cities.

He was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Graceville Kiwanis Club, in which he served as past president. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening and collegiate sports events.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First United Methodist Church in Graceville with the Revs. Jim Jines and Cecil Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Marvin Chapel Cemtery in Graceville.

The family received friends on Monday, Dec. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Graceville.

Juanita (Nita) Pearl Richardson, 78, of Starke, died Sunday morning at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after a brief illness.

She was born in Cottondale. She lived most of her life in Union and Bradford counties. She was employed with the Florida State Prison for 28 years, where she retired in 1995 as business manager. She moved to Starke in 1997, where she resided since. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.T. Richardson; one son, Jeff Richardson; and one grandson, Joshua Mark Richardson.

She is survived by four sons and their wives, Mike and Sherry Richardson of Chipley; Sam and Gale Richardson of Birmingham, Ala., Steve and Mindy Richardson of Raiford, and Mark and Madeline Richardson of Lake Butler; 13 grandchildren, DeWayne, Jennifer, Shelby, Jerehmi, Danika, Tracey, Dan, Patrick, Lily, Thomas, Sara, Denver and Tina; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Harlee, William, Jeffery, and Peyton; and one sister, Dorothy Richards of Tampa.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler with Rev. Rick Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Sapp Cemetery under the care of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

There will be the UCI Honor Guard in attendance at the funeral and graveside service.

Donna Sherrell Hayes, 17, of Greenwood, died Dec. 24, 2003, in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church and was a student at the Marianna High School.

Survivors include her mother, Angela Hayes Hall on Greenwood; step-father Frederick C. Hall of Greenwood; sisters Kristien Hayes and Brianna Hall of Greenwood; a brother, Darryl Dewayne Hayes Jr., of Marianna; step-brother Earnest Johnson Jr.; grandparents Allie Mae Smith (Wardine), Marianna; step-grandmother Cleola Johnson of Marianna; and step-grandfather Arthur Baker of Marianna.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Second West Missionary Baptist Association Church with the Rev. W. Pollock, Minister Billy White, and the Rev. William Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Buckhorn Cemetery with Vann Funeral Home of Marianna directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 6-7 p.m. The body will lie at the church from noon Wednesday until time for the funeral.

Mary Viola Robinson Neel, 85, of Grand Ridge, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the Medical Center in Dothan.

She was born in Jackson County. She was retired from Florida State Hospital with 16 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church near Grand Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Robinson and Ola Messer Robinson, and her husband, Wesley R. Neel.

Survivors include one son, Wesley Dexter Neel and his wife Michelle of Atlanta; two daughters, Frances Williams and her husband Russell of Sneads and Debbie Bundy and her husband Mike of Quincy; four grandchildren, Neal Williams, Todd Bundy, Craig Bundy and Maria Williams; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Wesley, Katie and Marjorie Bundy; three sisters-in-law, Eva Mae Messer and Irene Messer, both of Chattahoochee, and Gladys Neel of Marianna.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. CST at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church with Jack Howell, Todd Bundy and Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church.
