Mr. Norman L. Hall, age 81, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1976, coming here from Lebanon, N.J. Mr. Hall was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and the American Tool Design Society in New Jersey. He enjoyed repairing clocks and was known as the "clock doctor." Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Hall of Panama City; daughters, Mimie Christensen of Panama City and Evelyn Rothenburger of Amityville, N.Y.; a son, James Hall of Leisure Lakes, Fla.; granddaughters, Megan Christensen of Elkridge, Md., and Alexandra Rothenburger of Amityville; and grandsons, Eric Hall and Jason Hall, both of Panama City Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Melvin officiating. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2012 Lisenby Ave., Suite A, Panama City, Fla. 32405 or to the Hospice of Northwest Florida, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32405.

BELLE N. KNOWLES
Mrs. Belle N. Knowles, 91, of Wewahitchka, passed away Friday, March 3, 2000, in Port St. Joe. She was a lifelong resident of Wewahitchka, and was a member of Honeyville Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Crossie) Knowles, and a daughter, Maxine Farmer. Survivors include her children: Clifford Ward of North Carolina, Robert Knowles of Wewahitchka, Ann Caswell and husband Tommy of Jacksonville, Billy Knowles and wife Barbara of Wewahitcka, and Jimmy Knowles and wife Connie of Panama City; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pearl Alexander of Wewahitchka and Roxie Handley of California; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knowles will lie in state at her home from 4 to 6 p.m. CST Sunday, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. CST Monday, March 6, at Honeyville Methodist Church, conducted by David Taunton. Interment will follow in the family plot in Roberts Cemetery.

NELLIE PICKRON
Mrs. Nellis Pickron, 90, of Kindard, died Friday in Landmark Health and Rehab Center in Blountstown. Mrs. Pickron was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Chester Pickron. Survivors include two sons, Hubert Pickron of Old Town, Raymond Pickron of Perry; two daughters, Viola Pitts of Wewahitchka, Iola Griffin of Highland View; half brother, Gene Edenfield of Greensboro; two half sisters, Gertrude Edenfield of Quincy, Flossie Paul of Quincy; 25 grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at graveside of Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha with the Rev. Carlton Cain officiating. The family will receive friends today and Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.

Funeral services for Virginia Brandt Whitehorn, greatly beloved wife of Dr. Clark Whitehorn and mother of Robert Whitehorn, who died Thursday morning, March 2, 2000 will be held today at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. RAYMOND THEODORE 'R.T.' ZION JR.
Mr. Raymond Theodore "R.T." Zion Jr. age 77, of 610 Minnesota Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla., died Friday, March 3, 2000 at a local nursing home. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and was Protestant by faith. Mr. Zion served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. He also worked as a refrigeration mechanic at the Navy Coastal Systems Lab, where he received many awards of service. Mr. Zion was a member of the Moose Club and enjoyed fishing as a hobby. He is survived by his wife, Irma Clayton Zion of Lynn Haven, Fla.; a son, Richard Zion and his wife Valarie of Youngstown, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia VanBuskirk and her husband George of Southport, Fla.; a sister, Eileen Wright and her husband Tracy of Roanoke, Va.; an aunt, Gladys Zion Porter of Panama City; grandchildren: Angela Wood of Marietta, Ga.; Rick Zion of Panama City Beach, Erica Field of Panama City; Jeff VanBuskirk of Fort Hood, Texas , and Ja'Ney VanBuskirk of Southport, Fla.; and great-grandchildren: Jeffrey VanBuskirk and Whitney VanBuskirk, both of Copperas Cove, Texas and Lauren A. Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond T. Zion Sr., and his wife Nita Miller Zion; a brother, Omar Zion; sisters, Juanita Heath and Yvelene Kelly; his first wife, Mable Grant Zion; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Marie Zion. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Lynn Haven Cemetery with the Rev. T.A. Green officiating. Interment will follow. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are: Tracey O. Wright, James Kelley, Frank Hundley, James Yarbrough, James Leggett, Bernard Bock and the Navy Coastal Systems Lab Civil Service Employees. Mrs. Ruby Leigh Hagler, 58, of 2524 Sarasota Ave., Panama City, died on Saturday, March 4, 2000. She has been a resident of the area since 1965, coming here from Wewahitchka. Mrs. Hagler worked as a head custodian at Bay High School for 10 years, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and attended the Lynn Haven Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Hagler is survived by her husband, Bubba Hagler of Panama City; daughters, Rene Wilson and husband Mike of Panama City, Bonnie Yates and husband Joey of Lynn Haven; a son, Buster Hagler of Panama City; her mother, Sarah Paul of Wewahitchka; 4 sisters: Barbara McGill of Frink, Louise Cleary of Orlando, Deborah Fretwell of Panama City and Cindy Pentecost of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers, Gene Paul of Loxley, Ala., and Johnny Paul of Wewahitchka; and her grandchildren, Joey Wilson, Gigi Wilson, Korey Hall, Morgan Yates, and Haley Yates. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Cuff officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. ROBERT PETER GINTER
Mr. Robert Peter Ginter, 81, of Panama City, died Saturday, March 4, 2000. He was a native of Fort Madison, Iowa, and had lived in Panama City since 1956 after moving here from Greenville, S.C. Mr. Ginter retired after 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. He served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam conflict. He was a former loan officer at Tyndall Federal Credit Union, and was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as A Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree and had been a state district deputy. He is survived by his wife, Frances Ginter of Panama City; son, Peter Michael Ginter and wife, Sandra, of Birmingham, Ala.; his daughter, Susan Frances Hurst and husband, George, of Panama City; grandchildren: George Hurst and wife, Jan, Robert Hurst and wife, Amy, Morgan Hurst, Amy Sue Hurst, Robert Ginter, and Karen Ginter. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor William A. Crowe officiating. The family requests that donations of flowers be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to Catholic Charities in care of St. Dominic's Catholic Church.
