George Alvin Cope, 39, of Panama City Beach, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 28, 2000. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Panama City with the Rev. Jack Hankins officiating.

JAMES P. GRIFFIN
James P. Griffin, 83, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1980. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II at Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima where he received the Purple Heart. He was a retired editor for the newspaper. He was the widower of Anne LaFever Griffin. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Anderson; four grandchildren; two nieces, Pat Barber of Lynn Haven, Judith Mustin of Gainesville, Ga.; four nephews: Walter Brannon of Houston, Texas , James Brannon of Middletown, Md., Greg Griffin of Palatka, Fla., Phillip Griffin of Melbourne, Fla., and a sister-in-law, Mispah Griffin of Trenton, Fla. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery Mausoleum, Defuniak Springs, Fla.

EDWARD GEORGE McINTYRE
Mr. Edward George McIntyre, 48, of St. Joseph Community, Chipley, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at 10:45 a.m. in his home. He was a native of Washington County, attended the Christian Fellowship Center Church and was an employee for 12 years with the City Maintenance Department in Chipley. Survivors include his father and mother, Mr. Willie McIntyre and Mrs. Alma McIntyre of Chipley; one daughter, Felisha Bell of Ebro; two sisters, Myrtle Crook and Pauline McIntyre both of Chipley and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 11 at St. Joseph A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Joseph Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Cooper Funeral Home directing. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today, March 10 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.

ANNETTE MARIE HOOD
Mrs. Annette Marie Hood, age 51, of 211 Pine Ave., Wewahitchka, Fla., died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1975, coming here from Clearwater, Fla.. She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God of Wewahitchka and was a charter member of the Cooking Club of America. Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband, Charles W. Hood Sr. of Wewahitchka, Fla.; sons, Charles E. Hood Sr. of Columbus, Ga., Christopher A. Cutler and his wife Cathie of Panama City; and Charles W. Hood Jr. of Malone, Fla.; daughters: Brenda Jo Hood of Idaho and Melissa A. Hood of Wewahitchka; her mother, Mary E. Toole of Chipley, Fla.; brothers, Ernie E. Toole of Chipley and James E. Toole of Vernon; sisters: Martha Iles of Chipley. Voncile Mitchell of Dade City, Fla., and Minnie Fountouklis of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and three grandchildren: Charles E. Hood Jr., Samantha Hood, and Steven A. Cutler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 10 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Jim Mitchell, Jerry Foxworth, Roy Gene Foxworth, John Wayne Foxworth, J.R. Foxworth, and William Jenkins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris H. Ogren, age 88, of 3014 Lanny Lane, Panama City, Fla., who died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 10 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Mr. Laurence Dean Alford, 43, of 600 E. 8th Court, died Feb. 29, 2000 in a Perry, Fla., hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Alford will be held today, March 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. in St. Temple Church with Elder Emmanuel Dempsey, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church today from 9 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Sharon and Henry Dempsey, 213 N. EARL BEGLEY
Mr. Earl Begley, age 80, of 146 Wells St., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday, March 9, 2000 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1958, coming here from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the owner of the Lakeside Grocery. Mr. Begley served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the First Armored Division. He was a member of the Board of the First Assembly of God of Panama City Beach and of the American Legion Post No. 66. Mr. Begley is survived by his wife, Mary M. Begley of Panama City Beach; a son, Donald E. Begley and his wife Vera of Radcliff, Ky.; daughters, Martha Mincey and her husband Wayne, Joyce Troisi and her husband Russell, and Jennie Lou Killian and her husband Bob, all of Panama City Beach, Mary L. Broxton of Vernon, Fla., and Veronica K. Martin and her husband Scott of Panama City Beach; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, at First Assembly of God of Panama City Beach with the Rev. Paul Ensminger and the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be members of First Assembly of God of Panama City Beach. Honorary pallbearers will include Mr. Begley's grandsons. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Sunday, March 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the First Assembly of God of Panama City Beach., 17829 W. Margaret Thomas Biggs, 47, of 202 Scooter, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday, March 9, 2000 in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County for the past 19 years moving here from Birmingham, Ala. She was a floral designer at Musgrove Florist. She is survived by her husband, Don Biggs of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Donna White and her husband Sammy of Fayetteville, N.C.; a son, Jacob Kliman of Panama City; a granddaughter, Savannah White; her father, Ralph M. Thomas and his wife Shirley, of Birmingham, Ala.; her mother, Marilyn Flautt of Dadeville, Ala.; a brother, Ralph Thomas Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Ellijay, Ga.; two sisters, Ann Albarado and her husband Roy of Dadeville, Ala., Elizabeth Ellis and her husband Craig of Wetumpka, Ala.; and two stepbrothers, Bill Ponder and his wife Vicki of Chelsea, Ala., and Russ Ponder and his wife Sheryl of Hoover, Ala. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. in St. Dominic Catholic Church with Father Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Rick Whitehouse, Walt Fitzpatrick, Dick Danford, Frank Fuder, Jeff Webb, Don Deaton, Glenn Albarado and Glenn Manley. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Goodwin, Dave Browning, Walter Hamer, Joe Wayne Walker and Jim Lawson.
