Funeral services for James P. Griffin, 83, of Lynn Haven, Fla., who died Wednesday, March 8, 2000 in a local hospital will be held today at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery Mausoleum, Defuniak Springs, Fla.

NOLAN C. McDANIEL
Nolan C. McDaniel, 78, of Chipley, Fla. passed away Thursday, March 9, 2000 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala. He was a lifelong resident of Chipley. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Holmes Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Orion Masonic Lodge and was retired from R & M Electric in Chipley. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. in Wachob Chapel, Chipley, with the Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 11, at Wachob Chapel in Chipley. Survivors are his wife, Virginia McDaniel of Chipley; two sons, Wayne and wife Ann McDaniel of Chipley, Gary and wife Kim McDaniel of Chipley; two brothers, Jerry McDaniel of Mobile and Ronnie McDaniel of Chipley; two sisters, Becky Meeks of Troy, Ala., Bonnie Williams of Chipley; five grandchildren: Brian McDaniel, Shannon Cook, David Collins, Clay McDaniel and Brett McDaniel; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Holland.

Mr. Edward George McIntyre, 48, of St. Joseph Community, Chipley, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 11, at St. Joseph A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Joseph Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Cooper Funeral Home directing. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.

VIRGINIA CATHERINE BROOKINS
Mrs. Virginia Catherine Brookins, age 61, of 1603 W. 11th St., Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 11, 2000 in a local hospital. She has been a resident of Bay County since 1968 coming here from Chelsea, Mass. Mrs. Brookins was a clerk in medical records with the Panama City Nursing Center, member of the Alter Society and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church. Mrs. Brookins is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mr. Richard S. Brookins Sr. of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Richard S. Brookins Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Susan Satdari-Sadaloo and her husband Javad of Panama City Beach, Fla.; two brothers, William H. Pitts Jr. and wife Bui-Lien of Houston, Texas , and Arthur Pitts of East Boston, Mass.; a sister, Mary Pettingill and husband William of Chelsea, Mass.; six grandchildren, and three nephews. Mrs. Brookins is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Pitts and Richard Pitts. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at the St. John's Catholic Church with Father Marty Bratek and Father George Zieba C.R. officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are the Knights of Columbus and the honorary pallbearers also will be the Knights of Columbus. MARY BERNICE GEORGE
Mary Bernice George, 80, of Panama City passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. She was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in Birmingham, Ala., and has resided in Panama City for many years. Mrs. George is a retired businesswoman who continued her work in the community and as a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Mrs. George was the wife of the late Lee Osdel George and the daughter of the late Fredrick James and Mary Kathleen Diggle. Survivors include but are not limited to, a sister, Helen Crowe of Bastrop, La.; daughters, Ann Powers of High Springs, and Kathleen Catterton of Villa Rica, Ga.; grandson, Clark E. Fowhand, II; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Fowhand; granddaughter: Kim Blair of Bonneville, Ky.; five other grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Mary George was laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Monday, Feb. 28, 2000.

Infant Treasa Karen Webster, of 1211 Carolina Ave., Lynn Haven, passed away March, 10, 2000 in a local hospital. She is survived by her parents, Bryan and Julie Ann Webster of Lynn Haven; a brother, Taylor Webster; and a sister, Trista Webster both of Lynn Haven; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Kathleen Frye of Panama City; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Webster of Columbus, Ohio; two uncles, Mr. Jeff Frye of Panama City, and Mr. Mattew Webster of Columbus, Ohio; and an aunt, Mrs. Karen Webster of Columbus, Ohio. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2000 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Key officiating.

Brian Keith Jackson, 30, of Southport, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2000, at his residence. He was a life-long resident of Jackson County before moving to Southport. He was of the Holiness faith. The funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Hill Church in Vernon, with the Rev.'s Preston Haddock, Tim Bush and Danny Jackson. Burial will follow in the Damascus Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Wachob Chapel on Sunday, March 12, 2000. EMILY JANE SUGGS MOSELEY
Mrs. Emily Jane Suggs Moseley, 82, of Cantonment, Fla., and formerly of Lynn Haven, died Friday morning, March 10, 2000 at her home. Born in Alabama, she moved to Cantonment 13 years ago from Bay County. She was Pentecoastal by faith and was a retired motel owner. Mrs. Moseley is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ellen Moseley Pippin and husband Jerry of Cantonment; one brother, William Suggs of Graceville, Fla.; one sister, Lilly Mae Suggs of Del Rio, Texas ; two grandchildren, Jerry Robert Pippin Jr. and Patricia Jane Pippin Westberry; two great-grandchildren, John Pippin and Jessica Pippin. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. in Smith-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jerry Robert Pippin Jr., David Westberry, Buford Suggs, Marty Junior Suggs, Malicah Suggs and Lance Lord. There will be no formal visitation. The family headquarters will be at 1011 Pennsylvania Ave., Lynn Haven.

Mrs. Ethel G. Brash, 93, of Apalachicola died on Saturday, March 11, in Apalachicola. A native and lifelong resident of Apalachicola, Mrs. Brash was a homemaker, a member of The Order of Eastern Star Gorrie Chapter where she had also served as Past Worthy Matron. She was a 50-year member of the Philaco Club, and a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church in Apalachicola. She is survived by two nieces, Jacquelyn Glass Heyser of Apalachicola and Barbara Joan Glass Porch of Marriottsville, Md.; five great-nephews and two great-nieces; and numerous great-great-nephews and nieces. No visitation will be held. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 15, at Kelley Funeral Home in Apalachicola. Internment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola.

WALTER SHEPPARD COOPER JR.
Cpl. E4 Walter Sheppard Cooper Jr., 71, of 1326 Friendship Ave. in Panama City, departed this life on Monday, March 6. He was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Marianna to the late Walter Sheppard Cooper Sr. and the late Grace Bennefield Cooper. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and retired on Nov. 13, 1969, receiving the Purple Heart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, at Mount Olive African-Methodist Episcopal Church on 1516 Flower Ave. with the Rev. Alfonzo Williams Jr. officiating. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Internment will follow in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., where he will be given full military honors.
