Mr. Bernice Thomas Faulk, 84, formerly of Dothan, Ala., died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in Florida after an extended illness. Mr. Faulk was born in Dale County on Oct. 19, 1915, the son of William Thomas Faulk and Annie Mae Faulk. Mr. Faulk served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Bernice was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Assembly of God Faith. Mr. Faulk spent the majority of his life as a resident of the Dothan Community. He is preceded in death by wife, Nancy Lois McClendon Faulk; two sisters, Belle Lizana and Annie Will Scott; two brothers, Rofus Faulk and James Dewitt Faulk. He is survived by three sons: Bernice Faulk and wife Carolyn of Panama City, John Faulk of Dothan, Ala., and James Faulk and his wife Elizabeth of Dothan, Ala.; five grandchildren: Ronnie Faulk and his wife Kristen, JD Baker and his wife Gloria, Wendy Hall and her husband Jack, Kristopher James Faulk and Brian Patrick Faulk; brother Joe Faulk of Graceville; sisters Mildred Shehane of Columbus, Ga., and Ollie Bea Sulgrove of Missouri; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at Gardens of Memory in Kinsey, Ala.

THOMAS FRANCIS HOLMES
Thomas Francis Holmes, 88, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Friday, March 17, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of Bay County for eight years moving here from Atlanta, Ga. He was a retired salesman for 3M. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mr. Holmes is survived by his daughter, Mary Grimala of Foster City, Calif.; his granddaughter, Glynna Grimala of Los Angeles, Calif.; and his grandson, Greg Grimala of Foster City, Calif. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father O'Shea officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the American Heart Association in memory of Thomas Holmes.

MRS. LILIA B. McGLOCKLIN
Mrs. Lilia B. McGlocklin, age 54, of Panama City died Saturday, March 18, 2000, at her residence. Mrs. McGlocklin was a native of Bicola Providence, The Philippines, and moved here in 1982 from Angles City. She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church. She was in charge of public relations for the Filipino American Association. Mrs. McGlocklin is survived by her husband, Walton P. McGlocklin of Panama City; two daughters, Tina and Cherilyn McGlocklin both of Panama City; a son, William McGlocklin of Panama City; a grandson: Elijah Hasty of Panama City; and eleven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, March 21, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Monsignor Ricardo Hernandez officiating.

ORENE D. HENDERSON MONACO
Mrs. Norene D. Henderson Monaco, 90, Panama City, Fla., died Sunday afternoon, March 19, 2000, in a local nursing home. Born in Dale County, Ala., she moved here in 1930 from Midland City, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Monaco was a past member of the Garden Club, was a member of the Order of the Amaranth St. Andrews Bay Court No. 47, O.E.S. Chapter No. 306, past healthroom nurse at Everitt Jr. High School and a past Brownie Troop Leaders. She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Henderson and Pete Monaco and a son, Jesse Jarvis Henderson. Mrs. Monaco is survived by one son, James "LeDon" Henderson and wife Joyce of Panama City; three daughters, Mattie Lou Cook and husband Melvin, Margaret Beveridge and husband Bob, Linda H. Jennings and husband Steve all of Panama City; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 22, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: James Beach, Scott Harper, Ronald Shoup, Arthur Beveridge, Don Cutright, Dan Frey and Chris Jennings. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

LAURA E. DEESE
Mrs. Laura E. Deese, 89, a native of Calhoun County, Fla., died Monday, March 20, 2000, in Landmark Rehabilation Center in Blountstown. She was a waitress and a homemaker and was a member of the New Richland Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Ga. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Deese. Mrs. Deese is survived by two sons, Douglas B. Tipton and wife Joan of Spokane, Wash., Dennis D. Tipton and wife Sali of Apalachicola, Fla.; four daughters: Nellie Alford and husband Homer of Cochran, Ga., Hazel Bush and husband Bill of Bonifay, Fla., Florence Johnson and husband Jim of Bayou George, Fla., Ruby Oliver and husband Robert of Thidadoux, La.; one brother, Emon Dykes and wife Evelyn of Port St. Joe; two sisters, Myrtle Dykes of Altha, Fla. and Nellie Boyette and husband Comer of Grandridge, Fla.; 38 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 24 at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

RUTH McCLAMMA
Ruth McClamma, 71, of St. Joe Beach, passed away Saturday night, March 18, 2000, in Bay Medical Center, following a brief illness. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., she graduated from Nurse Training at Florida State Hospital, and had been a resident of Gulf County for the last 40 years, the last 38 at St. Joe Beach. She worked as a registered nurse for the Municipal Hospital for many years. Survivors include two children; her daughter, Kathryn Hallman and husband Nick of Pickens, S.C.; her son, Henry McClamma and wife Sheila of Tallahassee; three grandchildren: Louis T. Brinson Jr.; Susan McClamma, and Kasey McClamma; two sisters and one brother. Memorialization is by cremation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. EST Thursday at Jehu Cemetery. Those that wish may make contributions in her memory to a favorite charity.

JAMES HOWARD RAILEY
Mr. James Howard Railey, age 81, of 902 Brandeis Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Monday., March 20, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1936, coming here from Bonifay, Fla. Mr. Railey was married to his wife Katherine for 54 wonderful years. He was the circulation manager for the Panama City News-Herald until 1954 and worked for Franklin Life for 46 years as a general agent. Mr. Railey was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school superintendent for the First Assembly of God in Panama City. He was also a member of the Optimist Club, serving as past president and lt. governor for the State of Florida Optimist Club, and a member of the Panama City Life Underwriters. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Katherine V. Railey of Panama City; two sons, James H. Railey Jr. and his wife Linda of Springfield, Mo., and Donald T. Railey and his wife Darla of Milton, Fla.; grandchildren: Rusty Railey, Richie Railey, Christopher Railey and his wife Carla, and Megan Railey; a sister, Emagene Hyatt of Megarle, Ala.; brothers: Clifford Railey of Little Rock, Ark., Clyde Railey of Jacksonville, Fla., the Rev. Crawford Railey of Atlanta, Ga., and Harold Railey of Cottondale, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 24, at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Phil Edwards and the Rev. Wiley T. Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will include the Men's Bible Class of First Assembly of God. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Thursday, March 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. GEORGE ALLEN SIMONDS JR.
Mr. George Allen Simonds Jr., age 77, of 2608 Willow Oak Court, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Monday, March 20, 2000, at a local hospital. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a gunnery sergeant. Mr. Simonds had a highly decorated career in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of Grace Episcopal Church of Panama City Beach. Mr. Simonds leaves behind his loving and faithful wife of nearly 58 years, Kathleen Simonds of Panama City Beach; two daughters, Pat Feix and her husband Joe of Panama City Beach and Dee Arnold and her husband Nate of Panama City; two sons, Gene Simonds and his wife Janis of Panama City and Greg Simonds of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Anne Jones and her husband Lowell of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Matt Arnold, Lisa Arnold, Gene Simonds Jr., George Simonds III, Aaron Simonds and his wife Kari, and Angela Simonds; and great-grandchildren, Tylor and Caleb Simonds. Mr. Simonds was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Jennifer Holland and Melissa Holland. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 23, at Grace Episcopal Church of Panama City Beach with Fr. Kenneth Barker officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church in memory of Mr. George A. Simonds.

ISABEL VERGARA
Ms. Isabel Vergara, age 67, of 8115 Thomas Drive, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Monday, March 20, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1995, coming here from Tampa, Fla. Ms. Vergara was a commerical seamstress for Aqua Marine Boats. Ms. Vergara enjoyed ballroom dancing and music. She was well known at the Senior Dance Clubs in town. She was a volunteer at Healthplex and after she got sick, she was active in helping others in rehab. Ms. Vergara was a musician in earlier years, a gift that she passed on to her children. She has a son and daughter who are professional musicians at the Sandestin Hilton. Her family had a family band, "The Vasquez Torres Band," in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area that entertained for the Jaycees and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She attended St. Dominic's Catholic Church and was a member of the Senior Friends and Young at Heart's Club. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Marie Lanning of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Theresa Shackelford and her husband Charles of Panama City Beach; a son, Greg Torres and his wife Kristin of Niceville, Fla.; sisters, Margie Estrada and her husband Rueben of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lillian Ciaravino and her husband Nick of Bellrose Manor, N.Y.; and three grandchildren: Gregory L. Jackson, Alicia Marie Torres, and Jessica Leigh Lanning. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, March 23, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, March 23, from 2 to 3 p.m., an hour prior to service time. The family requests contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
