JOYCE REDD DANIELS
Joyce Redd Daniels, 70, of Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, in her home. She was born in Port St. Joe, and moved to Panama City at age six. She was a graduate of Bay High School Class of 1947, and retired as a deputy clerk of Bay County Circuit Court after 26 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. A born-again Christian, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank Daniels; two sons, John Daniels and his wife Linda, Jack Daniels and his wife Vickie, all of Panama City; daughter, Joy Powell and her husband Chris of Linden, N.C.; five grandchildren: John F. Daniels Jr., James Daniels, Melisa Daniels, Michael Jefferson, all of Panama City, Amy Jefferson of Richmond, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Forrest Daniels of Blountstown and Brandon Creel of Panama City. Funeral services will be held today, April 22, at 11 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: John Daniels Jr., Michael Jefferson, John Bates, Leroy Gainous, Bill Brown and Grady Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bay High School Class of 1947. Those desiring to may make a contribution to their favorite charity in memory of Joyce Daniels.

LYNDELL RUTH DUDLEY
Mrs. Lyndell Ruth Dudley, age 67, of 5125 Cherry St., Panama City, Fla., died Friday, April 21, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area for 50 years, coming here from Holmes County, Fla. Mrs. Dudley was a member of First Assembly of God. She enjoyed singing, swimming, traveling and praising the Lord. Mrs. Dudley is survived by a son, Lamar Dudley and his wife Gina of Panama City; a daughter, Teressa Seaborn and her husband Tony of Panama City; a grandson, Ryan Seaborn of Panama City; two granddaughters, Amanda Dudley and Kimberly Neves and her husband Ryan, all of Panama City; two brothers, Joseph E. Singletary and his wife Jean of Panama City and Millard C. Singletary and his wife Marjorie of Ebro; brothers-in-law, Modell Dudley and his wife Loy and James Roy Dudley and his wife Francis, all of Panama City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Sidney Jackson, Don Evans, Bob Swartz, Mike Mills, Arthur Culllen and J. D. Newton. Honorary pallbearers will include employees of Bay Crest Nursing Center. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Woodrow W. (Woody) Gay, 78, of 2006 W. 14th St., died Saturday, April 15, 2000, in his home. Funeral services for Mr. Gay will be held today, April 22, at 2 p.m. in St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Thomas Jr., Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church today from 10 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 2006 W. 14th St.

ANNIE BELL (DAVIS) JOHNSON
Mrs. Annie B. Davis Johnson, 79, of Wewahitchka, Fla., died Friday, April 13, 2000, in Sunrise Bay St. Joseph Nursing Center in Port St. Joe. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held today, April 22, at 2 p.m. in St. John Freewill Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with Dr. Willie E. Bell, officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. The remains will lie in state three hours prior to services at the church.

HELEN A. LEWIS
Mrs. Helen A. Lewis, age 77, of 12330 4th St., Fountain, Fla., died Friday, April 21, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1947. Mrs. Lewis was born in Malta and came to the United States by way of England aboard the "War Brides" ship. It took from 1943 to 1946 to get permission to come to the States and several more years to achieve citizenship. During the war, Helen worked in a factory that produced Spitfires. Her main love in life was her church, Fountain Assembly of God, where she had been a member for 52 years. She was a pillar of the church and had served in every capacity except for pianist. She loved to study history, and was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire. She is survived by her daughters: Ruth Fettinger of Fountain, Alice A. Stovall of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Linda Johns and her husband Elton of Fountain; a son, Lonnie Lewis and his wife Cathy of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Joseph Wheeler of Surrey Kent, England; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Lewis, and a sister, Phillis Cooper. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Fountain First Assembly of God with the Rev. Kenneth Hottinger officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Helen's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include her church family and the members of the Daughters of the British Empire. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32405. The family will be staying at 12330 4th St., Fountain, Fla.

BUFORD LONG
Mr. Buford Long, age 81, of 3007 Long St., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, in Gulf Pines Hospital in Port St. Joe, Fla. He had been a resident of the Panama City area since 1945, coming here from Washington County, Fla. Mr. Long served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the International Paper Co. as a pipefitter and was a member of the Pipefitters and Plumbers Local Union No. 229 for 50 years. Mr. Long attended Howards Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Shriners. He was a member, a Past Master and a 32 Degree of the Harry Jackson Lodge. Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Long of Panama City; daughters, Sharon Gamble and her husband William Sammy of Panama City and Celena Lambert and her husband George Jr. of Howards Creek; sons, Steven Buford Long and his wife Betty of Howards Creek and Philip Ray Long of Panama City; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 23, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Barnes and the Rev. Dennis Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites conducted by the Harry Jackson Lodge No. 314. The lodge will be open an hour prior to service time. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Shane Long, Jerred Lambert, Greg Williams, A.J. Stephens Jr., Frank Gibbs, Charles Myers, T.C. Norris Jr. and Greg Boggs. DON DAVID LONG
Mr. Don (Donnie) David Long, 57, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was born January 8, 1943, in Twilight, Okla., to David D. and Jackie Louise Long of Panama City. Don grew up and went to school in Panama City, graduating in the class of 1961 from Bay High School. He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. David D. Long, and survived by his son, Don David Long Jr. and wife Maria; two step-grandchildren and his first grandchild soon to be born, of Sebring, Fla.; his mother, Jackie Louise Long, Cove Manor Retirement Home, Panama City; his brother, Ronnie Long of Pensacola; his sister, Mrs. Connie Ryerkerk and husband Steve of Lynn Haven; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Lighthouse in St. Marks, Fla., today at 2 p.m. (EDT).

CAREY RAYMOND LUCZAJ
Carey Raymond Luczaj, age 56, of Vernon, Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his residence. He had been a resident of Vernon since 1985, coming from Atlanta, Ga. He was of Baptist faith. The funeral services will be today, April 22, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Methodist Church with Greg Hammack officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Methodist Cemetery with Brown Funeral directing. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. April 21 at the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Luczaj of Vernon; two sons, Tery R. Luczaj and wife Lisa of Vernon, London Brian Luczaj and special friend Cathy Carter of Panama City Beach; two brothers, Danny Mahaffey and wife Vickie of Atlanta, Ga., and Jimmy Thames and wife Debbie of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Nonie Hayes of Marietta; and four grandchildren.

VONNYA L. MILLS
Mrs. Vonnya (Bunny) L. Mills, 60, of the town of Northampton, N.Y., died Thursday at home. She was born on July 16, 1939, in Pinson, Tenn., the daughter of Vonsel M. and Syble L. Stovall Sells. Mrs. Mills resided for many years in Panama City, where she graduated from high school. She moved to the Northampton-Mayfield area in 1994. She was employed by Florida State Correctional Department at Pride of Florida Correctional Facility, Calhoun County, as an inmate supervisor. She later retired as supervisor of Burger King in Panama City. Survivors include one son, Frank P. Mills of Mayfield; one aunt, Jo Reid of Panama City; one grandchild; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation from the funeral home. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family.

CALVIN NICEWONDER
Mr. Calvin Nicewonder, age 75, of 7752 Shadow Bay Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1960, coming here from Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Nicewonder enjoyed working in the yard, 3-D puzzles, and reading. He also enjoyed drawing, painting, canoeing, and Civil War history. Mr. Nicewonder was the former owner of Nicewonder Real Estate. He had been a builder in the Panama City area since 1961, building thousands of house, apartment complexes, and some commercial buildings. Mr. Nicewonder was the former owner of Bay Front Development Co. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Nicewonder was a member of Callaway United Methodist Church. He was a former city commissioner of Callaway, member of Parkway Lions Club, and past president of Homebuilders Association. Mr. Nicewonder is survived by his daughters: Linda Arnold and her husband the Rev. David Arnold of New Port Richey, Fla., Judith Shull and her husband Dr. Dean of Winter Haven, Fla., Bunny Moses and her husband Everette of Warsaw, Va., Theresa Grissett and her husband Melvin (J.R.) of Panama City, and Kimberly Nicewonder of St. Petersburg; brothers: Curtis Nicewonder of Bluefield, W.Va., C.W. Nicewonder of Panama City, and Willard Nicewonder of Covington, Ky.; sisters, Ruth Atkins of Fountain and Peggy Marsh of California; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two former wives, Francis Irene Nicewonder and Lucy Nicewonder. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today, April 22, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: David Arnold, Everette Moses, Dr. Dean Shull, Ellis Ball, Melvin Grissett and Stevie Nicewonder. Honorary pallbearers will include: Ret. Col. James Knisley, Ret. Lt. Col. Dick Beach, and James Thompson. Those desiring may make donations to Callaway United Methodist Church, 6619 State 22, Callaway, Fla. 32404, in honor of Mr. Nicewonder.
