Graveside funeral services for Margaret Watkins Powell of 1917 West 10th St., Panama City, who died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in her home will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2001 W. 11th St., Panama City, FL 32401.

EARL EMERSON BOCOCK
Mr. Earl Emerson Bocock, 87, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at his home. Born in Dillsboro, Ind., he moved here in 1956, after retiring from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. He retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was also a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bocock was an aviation mechanic in both the Navy and civil service. He retired from civil service after 22 years. He was a past member of VFW Post No. 2185 and Fleet Reserve No. 346. Mr. Bocock is survived by his wife, Beatrice Brown Bocock of Lynn Haven; two daughters, Gloria Lutz of Lynn Haven and Gail Ortman of Chipley; two brothers, Carl Bocock of Oldenburge, Ind., and Gordon Bocock of Land O' Lakes, Ind.; four grandchildren: J.C. Lutz, Kathy Thurman, Debra Rogers and Jennifer Gay; five great-grandchildren: Blake Thurman, Brittny Thurman, Amber Rogers, Kenny Gay and Carissa Gay; one niece, Beverly Robertson of Perry, Fla. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, May 13 at 11 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel. military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Mr. Bocock.

LOUISE HUNT MOSLEY
Mrs. Louise Hunt Mosley, age 82, of Callaway, Fla., died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at a local hospital. She was born June 5, 1917, in Georgina, Ala. Mrs. Mosley was a resident of Bay County for 38 years and was a member of Springfield Community Church. She is survived by six daughters: Margie Hyatt and her husband Fred of Callaway, Joyce Perdew and her husband Joe of Omaha, Neb., Amelia Pfeffer and her husband Russell of Southport, Faye Harman of Troy, Ala., Mary Lewis of Callaway, and Cheryl Mabe and her husband Allen of Panama City Beach; a son, Marvin Mosley and his wife Barbara of Delavan, Wis.; two brothers, the Rev. J.W. Hunt of Springfield and the Rev. Fred Hunt of Florala, Ala.; a sister, Naomi Bennett of Panama City; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Mosley; a daughter, Rachel A. Mosley; a sister, Rebecca H. Rumbley; a brother, G.B. Hunt; and a grandson, Aaron Perdew. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7 at Springfield Community Church with the Rev. J.W. Hunt and the Rev. Fred Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mike Golden, Bill Pfeffer, Jim Pace, Steven Milner, Ronnie Hyatt, Tony Hyatt, and Allen Mabe. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Saturday, May 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springfield Community Church Building Fund, 1200 J.W. FREDDIE LEE NORMAN
Mr. Freddie L. Norman, 65, of 1402 Michigan Ave., Lynn Haven, died Friday, April 26 in Bay Medical Center. He was a lifelong native of Panama City. He was a member of Second Moriah Baptist Church and served as an usher for many years until his illness, but continued to be a faithful member until his death. He served as a Mason in Lodge No. 202. He was employed with Tyndall AFB in the early '60s. Later he was employed with the City of Panama City until his retirement in 1995. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Annie Laura Norman. He also leaves behind two adopted children and ten children by marriage: Freddie Mae Jackson, Beatrice Crittenden (Willie) and Jackie Tubbs (Chuckie), all of Panama City, Annie McConnell (Horace) and Enock Massalene (Bridgett) of Lynn Haven, Henrettia Cobb, Emory Massalene and Robert Massalene (Cassandra) from Georgia, Henry Massalene (Sharon) of Birmingham, John Hilly of Kissimee, Tim Massalene of Gainesville, Sian Massalene of Centry. Preceding him in death was a well loved brother, Jimmie Murphy and two sisters, Gladys Burke and Jo Anne Murphy. He leaves one well-loved sister, Annie Will Brown of Panama City; two aunts, Arlester Rollins and Ida Mae Range (Jesse) all of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Ellis E. Burke of Panama City and Leroy Jackson (Ella) of Maryland; nine sisters-in-law: Alice Murphy, Evelyn Jones and Laura Bell Hill of Panama City, Willie Mae Stanley (Cleauthor) of Lynn Haven, Faye Matthews and Gloria Tyson of Mobile, Ala., Mary Parker and Juanita Peterson of Boston, Mass.; three nieces: Crystal McGregor, Mercedes McGregor and Quintan Williams; two nephews, Andrece McGregor and Mario Murphy; seven cousins: Henry James Brisker, Anthony Range, Lessie Anderson, Pat Gunn, Mary Luqman, Norma Jean Mahoney, Gwendolyn Range; and four great-grandchildren along with many devoted long term friends. Funeral services for Mr. Norman will be held Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. in Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Jackson County. Public visitation for viewing will begin this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at their residence of 1042 Michigan Ave. in Lynn Haven.

JOHN MARK DUNCAN
Mr. John Mark Duncan, 41, of Panama City Beach, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Duncan was a native of Montgomery, Ala., but had lived in Panama City Beach for the past five years. Mr. Duncan was a sales representative of the WoodFrutticker Industries. His father, John B. Duncan, preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Betty Duncan of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Brandy Zacherl of Dothan; a granddaughter, Olivia Zacherl of Dothan; a brother, Steve W. Duncan of Tehachapi, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Daniel Reeder of Headland, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the home of Mrs. Betty Duncan, 623 Gulf Blvd., Panama City Beach, today, May 6, at 2 p.m. The family would prefer in lieu of flowers, contributions be made at a charity of your choice in the memory of Mr. Duncan.

LEWIS E. HANNA
Mr. Lewis E. Hanna, 72, of Port St. Joe, passed away Friday, May 5, 2000, in Gulf Pines Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Altha and lived there until coming to Port St. Joe in 1959. He was retired from St. Joe Paper Company, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hanna; his children: Patty Kirkland of White City, Barbara Ann Linton of Lanark Village, Elaine Broom of Crestivew, Rhonda Manning of Huntsville, Ala., Donnie Rhames of Crestview; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Louise Pierce of St. Augustine; and his brother, Dallas Hanna of Altha. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 8, at Highland View Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Judson Waldrop, the Rev. Daniel Kirkland and the Rev. Donald Hanna. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha. He will lie in state at Comforter Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Betty Ruth Holmes, 67, of Southport, Fla., died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was a secretary for Vital Pipe Fabrication Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dalton Holmes. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Nelson of Panama City, Carol McDonald and her husband Scotty of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Gary Holmes and his wife Tami of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers: Charles Morris and Billy Morris, both of Chipley, Ronnie Morris of Panama City; two sisters, Jeannette Bishop of Chipley, Sheri Calzarera of Lake Charles, La.; and six grandchildren: Ian McDonald, Daly McDonald, Anna McDonald, Melissa Nelson, Ryan Nelson and Zac Holmes. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Baldwin Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The family will be at the home of Roger Morris, 1605 Belmont Blvd.
