MILDRED MOORE HUDSON
Mildred Moore Hudson, 80, of Panama City died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in her home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1936 moving here from Jackson County, Fla. She was a retired custodial worker for Bay County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Hudson; one brother, one sister, and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann McDowell and her husband, Tom of Panama City; five sons: Robert Joe Moore and his wife Marie of N. Ft. Myers, Ronnie Howard of Panama City, Alan Howard and his wife Donna of Gulf County, Fla., Jackie Howard and his wife Marcia and Kenneth Ray Howard all of Panama City; eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Mills of Panama City and a brother, Joe Danford of Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Celebration Church of God, 900 Transmitter Road, with Pastor Bill Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.

ARLENE LYNCH
Arlene Elizabeth Lynch, age 90, passed away at Glen Dale, West Viriginia Health Care Center, on May 20, 2000. Arlene was born March 31, 1910, to Robert J. and Mildred Dorr Rothwell in Syracuse, N.Y. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, N.Y., with a B.A. degree and also from Asbury Theological Seminary, with a master's degree. She taught in the public schools in New York State, Idaho and Florida. She also taught at Allentown Bible College, Allentown, Pennsylvania and at Kernerville Bible College in Kernersville, N.C. She also toured the Holy Land. At Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, she met the Rev. Cyrus R. Lynch and they were married at Estes Chapel in Wilmore, Ky. on Sept. 17, 1955. Arlene faithfully served her Lord and Saviour, along beside her beloved husband Cy, during pastoral assignment at Spririt Lake, Idaho, Crestview, Fla., and at Lynn Haven in the Pilgrim Holiness Churches and the Wesleyan Church, as well as teaching school at each assignment. She retired from public education in 1985. Arlene had a special love for young people and especially for little children. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother Robert and her beloved husband "Cy." She is survived by a loving, caring sister-in-law, Jessie Lynch Lannan of Glen Dale. W. Va. and a half brother, Sturat Rothwell of Melbourne; a half-sister, Jane Haaxma of Ann Harbor, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Luverne Rothwell of Tyaskkin, Md.; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends who loved her and will sadly miss her. Comfort comes in knowing she is now Home at last with her Lord Whom she faithfully loved and served. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Lynn Haven Cemetery with the Rev. John Cupps officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon to 1 p.m. before the service. Florial tributes will be accepted or donations may be made to Lynn Haven Wesleyan Church, 510 West 10th St.

VALDA VIRGINIA NELSON SAPP
Valda Virginia Nelson Sapp, age 93, of Chipley, Fla., passed away Monday, May 22, 2000, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. She was a lifelong resident of Chipley, of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Chipley. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 25, at 10 a.m. in Chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Adolph Phares officiating. Burial will follow in New Orange Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Chapel of Brown Funeral Home. Survivors are one son, John Sapp and his special friend Kathryn Rice of Panama City; one daughter, Evelyn Hyland of Vienna, Va.; two brothers, V.J. Doc Nelson and wife Gladys of Chipley, Vernon Reid Nelson and wife Helen of Pensacola; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

LAURIE LYNN WARD
Laurie Lynn Ward, 39, of Panama City, died at Bay Medical Center Thursday night, May 18, 2000. She was a native of St. Louis, Mo., a partner with her husband in the distribution of grocery products and a member of First United Methodist Church of Marianna. Laurie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Ward of Panama City; her loving parents, Barbara and George Simmons of Marianna; her father, David Frank Jeffe of St. Louis, Mo.; four precious children: sons, Peter Herbert Petronaci of Caldwell, N.J., and Jason Sugars of Tallahassee, daughters, Jessica Ann Petronaci of Tallahassee and Amanda Jean Sugars of Panama City; brother, Scott David Jeffe of Novi, Mich.; sister, Christine Jeffe Leonard of St. Louis, Mo.; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Dorothy Ward of Panama City; brother and sister-in-law, Rod and J.T. Ward of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at First United Methodist Church of Marianna with Dr. Frank Hyles officiating. Burial will follow in Dead River Cemetery on State 81 between Bruce and Red Bay, Fla., with Lord Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions to a college fund for her children. Checks may be written to First United Methodist Church of Marianna designating the L. Ward Fund. WILLIAM MAXMILLIAN MORAR SR.
William Maxmillian Morar Sr., of Panama City, died Monday, May 22, 2000, in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1901, and moved to the Lynn Haven area around 1917 from Ohio. He was a pioneer in the nursery and florist business founding the Wayside Nurseries and Florist in 1932. He married Sigrit Wave in 1933 and they continued to work together at Wayside until their retirement in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Sigrit; and four children, Bill Morar Jr. and wife, Agnes, Sibil Donaldson and husband, Reid, Neal Morar and his former wife, Peg Morar, all of Panama City, Jon Morar and his wife, Judy of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren, Suzie Fuller and husband, Jerry, Walt Donaldson, Will A. Morar, Adrea Thomas and husband, Kellett, Katie Morar, Doug Morar and his wife Erin, Michael Morar, Blake Morar; six great-grandchildren; and his devoted caregivers, Emmaleen Brown, Lisa Nolind, and Jean Rhodes. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Cathey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the graveside service. Asked to be pallbearers are the Deacons of First Presbyterian Church. Honorary pallbearers are: Bill Lee, Gerald Chavers and the Elders of First Presbyterian Church.

JOSEPH ALLEN PINCKNEY
Joseph Allen "Joe" Pinckney, 88, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Friday, May 19, 2000, at his home. Born in Bennett, Fla., he was a lifelong resident of Bay County. He worked as a pulp room operator and retired from International Paper Company after 24 years. From 1935 to 1941, he was also the bridge tender at old Lynn Haven Bridge, which was located at the end of Wisconsin Avenue on North Bay. Mr. Pinckney was a member of Lynn Haven Methodist Church and National Day Lilly Society. His hobbies included photography, hunting and genealogy. He visited France in 1997 including Picquiney, France, where his ancestors originated. He also visited Bishop Auckland England where his ancestors emigrated from France during the reign of William the Conqueror. Mr. Pinckney is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Allen Pinckney and Louisiana Missouri Pinckney and his wife, Alvie Pinckney. He is survived by one daughter, Helen Pinckney Burleson and husband Jerry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Martin Buford Pinckney and wife Marguerite Herndon of Warner Robins, Ga.; two granddaughters, Debra Lesar of Las Vegas, Nev. and Patricia Burleson of Frederick, Md.; three great-grandchildren: Jennifer Mott of Elmira, N.Y., Jeffery Neumann of Groton, Conn., Henry Allen Bridges of Frederick, Md.; two great-great-grandsons, Troy Allen Mott and Tyler Michael Mott both of Elmira, N.Y.; four sisters-in-law: Ruby Crowson, Florence Benton and Malzie Hottinger all of Panama City and Nancy Keel of Southport; six nephews: Kenneth Hottinger, Ronald Keel, Gary Keel, Terry Keel, Fred Walter Pinckney and Martin B. "Pinkie" Pinckney Jr.; two nieces, Phyllis Messian and Sandra Wright. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Hottinger officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Gary Keel, Terry Keel, Ray Hottinger, Fred Walter Pinckney, Wendell Gainer and Buford Carter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

CLETTUS A. 'CLETE' WARREN
Mr. Clettus A. "Clete" Warren, age 71, of 5114-A Lance St., Parker, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 20, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Warren had been a resident of Bay County since 1971 after retiring from Blaine Air Force Station in Washington State. He loved bowling, was a member of the VFW Post No. 8205 of Parker, the AMVETS Post No. 231 of Fountain, the Retired Enlisted man Association, the Air Force Sgt. Association, served his country in the US. Air Force for 20 years, and received the Commendation Metal, and after retiring as a tech sergeant, he worked in construction for 18 years for the J.B. Jinks Regency Builders and the Letton Development, and was of the protestant faith. Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carol Warren of Parker; two sons, Mr. Terry A. Warren and wife Diane of Panama City, and Staff Sgt. Gary L. Warren of Crestview; seven grandchildren: Eric, Derek, David, Kyla, Nesa, Tara, and Tiffanie; two sisters, Beaulah Sowry, and Reba Dorrine Whysong and husband Harry both of Ashtabula, Ohio; a brother, Clayton Warren and wife Elaine of Ashtabula. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by a son, Pfc. Thomas A. Warren, U.S. Army. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 24.

JAMES CLAYTON GAINEY
James Clayton Gainey, age 91, of Cottondale, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Cottondale. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at Wachob Chapel with the Rev. Henry Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Lovewood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Wachob Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elma Odom Gainey; a son, Clayton Dewitt Gainey and a grandson, Keith Gainey. Survivors include one son, Whit Thomas Gainey and wife Carol of Cottondale; one daughter, Linda G. Snock of Largo, Fla.; one grandson, Malcolm Gainey; two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Kathryn Gainey; several nieces and nephews.
