OSMUND McKINNEY
Osmund McKinney of Panama City, who was born May 4, 1903, at Yale, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in a local nursing home. He came to Panama City July 4, 1926, after serving four years in the Navy on the battleship USS Wyoming (coal burner). He served in the U.S. Lighthouse Service from 1927 to 1941 as lighthouse keeper at Key West, Dry Tortugas and Gasparilla Island, Fla. He was among one of the last lighthouse keepers in the state of Florida. During World War II he served in the U.S. Merchant Marines advancing to lieutenant commander. He was awarded recognition for his dedicated service on the bridge of vessels during periods of war and peace. After the war he served as first mate of various merchant ships to coastal and South America ports. Mr. McKinney was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus, and St. Andrew Masonic Lodge 212, where he received his 65-year Masonic pin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Lee McKinney. He is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Ferguson of Panama City and Marion Ruth Lane of San Marcos, Texas; one son, Calvin McKinney and his wife Jean of Brooksville, Miss.; a sister, Christine Caudill of Largo, Fla.; and brother, Roger McKinney of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren, Deloris Lane Sims, Arlene Escobar, Mary Evelyn Harrelson, Sandy Caudill, Ricky Kesler, Billy Kesler; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Johnson and the Rev. Adolph Bedsole officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring to may make contributions to World Hunger Offering at Immanuel Baptist Church in memory of Osmund McKinney.

RICHARD ROGERS
Mr. Richard Rogers, 55, of Southport, passed away Oct. 8, 2000. He was a lifelong resident of Southport and had worked for the Florida Department of Transportation. He is survived by his mother, Maxine Carter; one sister, Lisa Lollie and her husband Roy; two nephews, Joey and Patrick Mastro, all of White City. Graveside services will be held today, Oct. 11, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Holly Hill Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Marcus Sturdivant. Interment will follow.

MICHAEL THEODORE 'MIKE' COLLINS
Michael Theodore "Mike" Collins, age 18, of Lynn Haven passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Panama City and was a mechanic at Bay Lincoln Mercury. Michael attended Mosley High School and Panama Worship Center. He is survived by his father, Dale Collins and his wife Cindy of Panama City; mother, Diayne Wright of Fountain; five brothers: Joshyoua Collins of Springfield, Fla., Jason Collins of Fountain, Fla., Bobby Hand of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles and Mason Collins, both of Panama City; two sisters, Rebecca Hand of Fountain and Christina Hand of Panama City; paternal grandparents, Alvie and Mearl Collins of Panama City; maternal grandmother, Mary Wright of Clearwater, S.C.; adopted grandparents, Woody Hughen of Panama City and Ola McDaniels of Geneva, Ala.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, Oct. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.

RUFUS EUGENE LEE
Rufus Eugene Lee of 110 N. Cove Terrace Drive., Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his home in the embrace of his loving family and friends. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lee on Jan. 23, 1910 at Cromaton and was raised on the shores of St. Andrew Bay where his family was pioneer settlers. He and Grace Kirvin were childhood sweethearts and they were married on Nov. 2, 1931. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years, Grace Lee and by one grandson, Ronald Eugene Bozeman of Springhill, La. Mr. Lee lived by the golden rule and was an example of strength, honesty, and fairness to his children: Grace Jean Bozeman and her husband William H. Bozeman of Springhill, La., Doris Ann Odum and her husband William T. Odum of Panama City, and Jimmy Lee Sr. and his wife Vicki Lee of Wewahitchka. He is also survived by a sister, Iva Mae Peoples of Panama City; five grandchildren, Greg Bozeman, Jimmy Lee Jr., Susan Denise Anderton, Gerry Connelly and Kaki Odum; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Lee, also known as "Uncle Rue," was also blessed to be a part of the entire Raffield Family of Port St. Joe and the family of friends that live on the block of N. Cove Terrace Drive, where he lived for over 50 years. Their doors were open to him and his place at the table was prepared. He was a master fisherman and loved to hunt game for the tables of his family and friends. Mr. Lee worked on the construction of the International Paper Co. and began his 42-year career with them when the Panama City mill opened. He retired as assistant pulp mill superintendent with an outstanding record of achievement. Mr. Lee loved and revered God and was baptized in the Cove Baptist Church in 1955. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Doss and the Rev. R.C. Warren officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Love Mausoleum in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Greg Bozeman, Jimmy Lee Jr., Phillip Anderton, Harold Raffield, Dalton Powell and Richard Bush. Honorary pallbearers will include his retired friends from the paper mill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Oct. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m.

BRIAN MARK PRIDGEON
Mr. Brian Mark Pridgeon, 32, of Panama City, passed away at his home. He was reared in Wewahitchka and served in the U.S. Air Force. For the past several years he lived in Panama City and worked as a master electrician. He is survived by his son, Zachary Kyle Pridgeon of Panama City; his father, Anthony Pridgeon of Wewahitchka; one brother, Edward Keith Pridgeon and wife Pache of Wewahitchka; one sister, Kelli Pridgeon of Panama City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 13, at Pleasant Rest Cemetery at Overstreet, Fla., with the Rev. Charles Pettis officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Edward Keith Pridgeon in Wewahitchka.

BOBBIE SUE SCHRECK
Mrs. Bobbie Sue Schreck, age 59, of Whitehouse, Texas, passed away Oct. 10, 2000, at her home. She was born March 7, 1941, in Allen, Texas, to Jerry Harold and Fannie Ruth (Harrington) Herndon. She married Floyd Frederick Schreck, July 6, 1963. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Schreck is survived by her sons, Bobby Gene Miller of Shreveport, La., Russell Glenn Miller of Faith, Texas, Jeffrey Scott Schreck and Jeremy Floyd Schreck, both of Lynn Haven, Fla.; daughter, Mary Ruth Wheeler of Plano, Texas, Debora Lea Schreck and Michele Christine Crocker, both of Whitehouse, Texas; 10 grandchildren and parents, Jerry and Ruth Herndon of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd F. Schreck, on July 26, 1991. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, in Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.

MALLORY ANDERSON
Mrs. Mallory Anderson, 86, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, in a San Diego, Calif., hospital. She was retired from Bay Medical Center. Two sons, Thurmond and David Anderson precede her in death. She is survived by three sons: Emil Anderson of Southport, Wildon Anderson of Lynn Haven and Darrell Anderson of Houston, Texas; three daughters: Linda Alban of Santee, Calif., Bobbie Mills of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Sandra Rockwood of Scappoose, Ore.; one sister, Lillian Scholot of Illinois; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

LILA MAE BANCHICH
Mrs. Lila Mae Banchich, age 57, of 6437 Marvin Lane, Southport, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1977, coming here from Orange City, Fla. Mrs. Banchich was a homemaker and the President of the Ladies Auxiliary No. 375 American Legion, a member of the V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Mrs. Banchich is survived by her husband, five children, six grandchildren, and three sisters. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Southport Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Moon officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at their residence, 6437 Marvin Lane, Southport, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.
