DONALD E. COOPER
Mr. Donald E. Cooper, 85, of Panama City, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in a local nursing home. Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice "Teddy" E. Cooper. He is survived by two sons, Don S. Cooper of Tampa and Monte V. Cooper of Panama City; one daughter, Karen M. James of Thonotosassa, Fla., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date.

WOODROW GRAY
Mr. Woodrow Gray, 61, of 500 Power Ave. Lot-3, died Oct. 4, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and attended the public schools of Bay County. He retired from the Bay County Road Dept. after 21 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of First Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Marzell Gray and brother, Hushel Gray. He is survived by ten children: Samuel Gray, Martha Nelson, Brenda Smith (Eddie), Elvis Nelson (Kathy) and Cheryl Flemming (Rod) all of Los Angeles,Calif., Letrice Gray Anderson, Essence Gray and Ladrekus Gray all of Panama City, Janice Coachman (Sean) of West Palm Beach, and Ladreka Gray of Atlanta, Ga.; five sisters: Yvonne Graves (Fletcher), Marsha Smith, Ophelia Bush, Shirley Curry (the Rev. Johnny) and Janice Frazier all of Panama City; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Marcus and Sharronda Jones of Panama City; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Gray will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at 1 p.m. in First Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Harper, officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at 906 Massalina Dr.

JEWEL KENT
Jewel Kent, age 93, of Chipley, Fla., passed from this life on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Chipley, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Chipley and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and a member of Salem Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Salem Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating. Burial will be in Salem Freewill Baptist Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. in Wachob Chapel today, Oct. 13. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Louis and Neater Kent; his wife, Lena Seay Kent; one son, Hubert Lee Kent; one brother, Roy Kent; two sisters, Callie Kent and Lula Kent Toole. He is survived by one daughter, Annie Merle Toole of Chipley; one brother, Jimmy Kent and wife G.T. of Cottondale; three sisters: Susie Kent Locke of Chipley, Pearlie Kent Shores of Alford and Mallie Kent Crooms of Alford; one grandchild, Penny Hagan and husband Joey and one great-grandchild, Hunter Aycock.

RUFUS EUGENE LEE
Rufus Eugene Lee of 110 North Cove Terrace Dr., Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his home in the embrace of his loving family and friends. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lee on Jan. 23, 1910, at Cromaton and was raised on the shores of St. Andrew Bay where his family was pioneer settlers. He and Grace Kirvin were childhood sweethearts and they were married on Nov. 2, 1931. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years, Grace Lee and by one grandson, Ronald Eugene Bozeman of Springhill, La. Mr. Lee lived by the golden rule and was an example of strength, honesty, and fairness to his children: Grace Jean Bozeman and her husband William H. Bozeman of Springhill, La., Doris Ann Odum and her husband William T. Odum of Panama City, Fla., and Jimmy Lee Sr. and his wife Vicki Lee of Wewahitchka, Fla. He is also survived by a sister, Iva Mae Peoples of Panama City; five grandchildren: Greg Bozeman, Jimmy Lee Jr., Susan Denise Anderton, Gerry Connelly, and Kaki Odum; and eleven great-grandchildren. Mr. Lee, also known as "Uncle Rue", was also blessed to be a part of the entire Raffield Family of Port St. Joe and the family of friends that live on the block of N. Cove Terrace Dr., where he lived for over 50 years. Their doors were open to him and his place at the table was prepared. He was a master fisherman and loved to hunt game for the tables of his family and friends. Mr. Lee worked on the construction of the International Paper Co. and began his 42 year career with them when the Panama City Mill opened. He retired as Assistant Pulp Mill Superintendent with an outstanding record of achievement. Mr. Lee loved and revered God and was baptized in the Cove Baptist Church in 1955. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Doss and the Rev. R.C. Warren officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Love Mausoleum in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Greg Bozeman, Jimmy Lee Jr., Phillip Anderton, Harold Raffield, Dalton Powell, and Richard Bush. Honorary pallbearers will include his retired friends from the Paper Mill.

Ms. Edna M. McCrory of Panama City died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in a local nursing home. Ms. McCrory is survived by one son, James McCrory and wife, Pam of Panama City and one grandchild, Chelsey McCrory. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at 1 p.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery with Mr. Steve Southerland II officiating.

FRED GRACE SANDERS
Mr. Fred Grace Sanders, age 83, of 4338 Brannon Rd., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at a local nursing facility. He had been a resident of the area since 1946, coming here from Ozark, Ala. Mr. Sanders was Baptist by faith and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leoma Sanders of Panama City, Fla.; daughters: Betty Fellner and her husband Paul of Roselle, N.J., Carolyn Deal and her husband Conrad of Panama City, Carrie Jenkins and her husband Buddy of Pensacola, Fla., Cathy Faircloth and her husband Larry and Brenda Whitehead and her husband David, both of Panama City, and Debbie Summers and her husband Pat of Anchorage, Alaska; sons: Curtis Sanders and his wife Alicia and Freddie Sanders and his wife Janis, all of Panama City, and Noah Sanders and his wife Laverne of Round Lake, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Brodgon officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Sanders' grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Oct. 13, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Lila Mae Banchich, age 57, of 6437 Marvin Lane, Southport, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Southport Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Moon officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at their residence, 6437 Marvin Lane, Southport, this afternoon, Oct. 14, 2000, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Jon Michael Dandis, 49, of 1001 Cornell Drive, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in his home. He worked in the maintenance department for Gulf Coast Community College. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City and was in the Army National Guard during Vietnam. He is survived by his parents, Alex J. and Judith (Judy) Dandis; son, Jason Dandis; sister, Denise Miller and her husband Joel; granddaughter, Jade Dandis, all of Panama City; grandmother, Lila Richards of Wetumpka, Ala.; three nieces, Shelli Thrasher, Carrie Miller, Lydia Miller, all of Panama City; two aunts, Charlotte Thrash of Wetumpka, Helen Luma of Pensacola; two uncles, Mack Richards of Panama City Beach and Sam Dandis of Montgomery, Ala. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

CHARLES CAMERON FEENEY
Charles Cameron Feeney, 65, of 1805 Baltimore Ave., died on the Oct. 9, 2000. He had been a resident of Panama City for 25 years and served in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Armed Division touring both stateside and in Germany. Mr. Feeney is survived by his loyal companion, Jack Cassano of Panama City; a sister, Carol Perrone of Fort Lee, N.J.; and two brothers, John Schorpp of Annapolis, Md., and Brian McMullin of Harleyville, Pa.
