Mrs. Betty Jean Coffey, age 73, of 718 Satsuma Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1973, coming here from Fort Knox, Ky. Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. She was a Life Member and past President of VFW Post No. 8205, past member and past resident of VFW Post No. 2185, a member of MOCA Pup Tent 60 and past member of Pup Tent 81. Mrs. Coffey is survived by her husband, John A. Coffey of Panama City; a daughter, Ruby Pierce and her husband Randy of Poplarville, Miss.; her two grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Jessica Renee Pierce and Christopher Lee Powell, both of Poplarville, Miss.; two sisters-in-law, Edie Duncan and her husband Frank of Goose Creek, S.C. and Evelyn Kent of Charleston, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Robert Coffey of Goose Creek, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

LENA MAE CULVER
Mrs. Lena Mae Culver, age 83, of 4017 W. 24th Ct., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at her home. She has been a resident of the area for 53 years, coming here from Bellwood, Ala. Mrs. Culver was a homemaker and was a member of Westview Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Fay Hudson of Orlando, Fla., and Mary Hitt of Deer Point, Fla.; a son, Donald L. Culver of Panama City; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, B. D. Culver; a son, Ray King; and a grandson, Tony Brasfield. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Sunday., Oct. 22, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Vickers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Kenneth Hitt, Ronald Hitt Jr., Randy E. Mathis, Glen Watson, Eric Helmer and Jimmy McNiel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Oct. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.

JAMES M. DOCKERY
Capt. James M. Dockery, age 48, of Independence, La., died Oct. 18, 2000. He was a former charter boat captain in Panama City. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dockery of Independence, La.; his mother, Vera Rice Wilson of Panama City; daughter, Amy Ricci of Virginia; one brother, Ronald Dockery; three sisters: Beverly Dockery and Dorothy Dockery of Panama City and Debra Schaefer of Singapore. He is being cremated. Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m., Dockside, at Lighthouse Marina, before departure for a sea burial.

Mrs. Mary Catherine Harpe Gallante, age 59, of Panama City, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000. She was preceded in death by her father Hoyt Banks; son, Bradley Harpe; and brother, Elbert Banks. She is survived by her husband Mike Gallante; two daughters, Diane Brown and Vicky Davenport and husband James; son, Darrell Harpe; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Kate Banks; three sisters: Margie Freeman and husband Joe, Sue Sommer, Frances Nelson and husband Raymond; five brothers: Ronald Banks and wife Linda, Morris Banks, Johnny Banks and wife Cindy, Michael Banks and wife Kathy, Frank Banks; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Eastside Baptist Church, 236 Kraft Ave., Panama City, Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.

Funeral services for Mr. James J. "J. J. " Barrett, age 63, of 2505 Thomas Dr., Panama City Beach, who died Saturday, October 14, 2000, will be held 10 a.m. today., Oct. 21, at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow at Catholic Cemetery with full military Honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard.

MARY REEDER LINTON
Mary Reeder Linton, 86, of 7312 Sale Blvd., Southport, passed away Oct. 20, 2000, at the home of her brother Clifton Reeder in Southport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Linton Sr.; her parents, Frank and Annie Reeder; two brothers, Robert and Giles Reeder and one sister, Lucille Reeder Bradley, all of Southport. She is survived by two step-sons, Robert Linton Jr. of Houston, Texas, Richard Linton Sr. and wife Nicki of Pell City, Ala.; a brother, Clifton Reeder and his wife Iris of Southport; a sister-in-law, Emma Reeder of Panama City Beach; five grandchildren, 11 nephews and nieces, and many more family members and friends. Mary retired from the Bay County School System having taught a total of 39 years, 33 of which were at Southport Elementary School where she taught first grade. She was a graduate of Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla., in May of 1948. Mary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 3140 State Ave., Panama City with Bishop Jeffery Linton conducting. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation hours will be Sunday, October 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the home of Clifton Reeder, 7331 Sale Blvd in Southport. RICHARD HOLLEY McDOUGALL
Mr. Richard Holley McDougall, 50, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Callaway Cemetery. Tanja Odom, 40, of 1007 E. 9th Court, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000. Funeral services for Ms. Odom will be held today, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Troupe officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until time for the service. REI PITTMAN
Mr. Rei Pittman, age 79, of Port St. Joe, Fla., and formerly of Jacob City, Fla., passed Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, in Tampa. He was a native of Jackson County and a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Jacob City. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Riley Henderson and the Rev. G.E. Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville in charge of the arrangements. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. He is survived by two daughters, Nina Pittman and Beatrice P. Walker, both of Tampa; one son, Earnest Pittman of Ft. Myers; one sister, Loueffer Pittman of Jacob City; one brother, Nehemiah Pittman of Jacob City and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hubert G. Rowland , age 68, of Mexico Beach, Fla., who died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Eliezer Castanon officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with military Honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base. EDNA EUFAULA BRADDY
Edna Eufaula Braddy, passed away on Oct. 19, 2000, with her loving family at her bedside. She was a long time resident of Destin, Fla., and was born on Oct. 27, 1921, in Atlanta, Ga. She graduated from Knoxville High School in Tennessee, and entered the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and later met her husband, Master Sgt. Harold Braddy, who preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1999. Edna and Harold were married on Oct. 14, 1952, at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas, and celebrated 47 years of love and happiness. Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Carl Woodall, of Panama City; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sharon Braddy of Mary Esther, Fla.; grandchildren: Brian Woodall, Jason Woodall, Ryan Braddy, Jennifer Braddy and Danielle Braddy. Edna will be remembered as a loving mother, who was always there for her family, and gave of herself, unselfishly to those in need. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, and the First Baptist Church of Destin. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, sewing and volunteer work. As a mother, she was very loving and gave tirelessly to the needs of her family and loved ones. She had a quick wit and a warm smile for everyone she met. A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, in McLaughlin Mortuary. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., where she will be interred alongside her loving husband, Harold Braddy, in Barrancas National Cemetery, in Pensacola with the Rev. Lewis Miller officiating, with military honors.

MAURICE BYNUM
Maurice Bynum, 92, of Panama City, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a manager for Lokey and Peoples Ice retiring after 30 years of service. He had been a resident of Panama City since 1942 moving here from Birmingham, Ala. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Sara Belle Bynum. He was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Bessie (Bo) Cox and her husband Grady of Panama City; three grandchildren, Kenneth Menck of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Ronnie Menck and his wife, Liz of Palm Bay, Fla., Steve Cox and his wife, Claudia, of Panama City, three great grandchildren, Natalie Menck, Nicki Cox, Haley Cox; two sisters, Olean Dean and her husband, Byron of Dothan, Ala., Verlie McBrayer and her husband, Bill of Springville, Ala. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Endowment Fund of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in memory of Maurice Bynum.
