Mrs. Julia McCaskill Garraway, 89, died in Atlanta, Ga., on Oct. 26, 2000. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church in Marianna, Fla. Flowers will be accepted or memorials to First Presbyterian Church or Thornwell Home and School For Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, S.C. 29325. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

TERESA 'TERRI' LYNN HAMMES
Miss Teresa Lynn "Terri" Hammes, 27, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at her residence. Born in Detroit, Mich., she moved to Bay County in 1992 from Kansas City, Mo. Terri graduated from Park Hill High School in 1991. She is survived by her mother, Fran Brown and husband Robert of Panama City; her father, John Hammes of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Michael Hammes and wife Robbin of Overland Park, Kan.; grandparents, Andrew and Mae Hammes of Grand Haven, Mich. Terri will be sorely missed by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Miss Hammes will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2:30 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Kent officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m.

EDNA L. LAWSON
Edna L. Lawson, age 92, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at St. Andrews Health and Rehab in Panama City, Fla., following an illness of some time. The Knoxville, Tenn., native was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrie Guy Lawson and a son, Boyd Kirkpatrick. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Jasper. She is survived by five sons: Frank Lawson of San Antonio, Texas, James E. Lawson of Saginaw, Texas, David Lawson of Elizabeth City, N.C., Guy Lawson of Omaha, Neb., and Johnny Lawson of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Bessie Young of Panama City Beach and Catherine Harrelson of Tallahassee; one sister, Willie Ruth Dunaway of Knoxville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, in the Chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, Fla. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m., today, Oct. 28 at the funeral home.

FRANCIS XAVIER 'FRANK' MARTIN
Mr. Francis Xavier "Frank" Martin, age 65, of 3918 W. 21st St., Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a native of Boston, Mass., and moved to Panama City in 1971, coming here from Charleston, S. C., where he was stationed in the Navy. Mr. Martin retired on 1974 after 28 years of service in the U.S. Navy. After his retirement he worked for the civil service for 10 years at the Naval Coastal Systems Center. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Martin of Panama City; daughters: Terri Walker and her friend Euel Oliver of Panama City, Cindy Morgan and her husband John of Panama City, Susan Carter and her husband Tim of Albuquerque, N.M.; sons, Francis "Dino" Martin and his wife Dorla and Tombo Martin and his wife Tasha, both of Panama City; a brother, Joe Martin and his wife Mary of Chelmsford, Mass; a sister, Peg Guilenello of Quincy, Mass; 10 grandchildren: Madonna Robbins, Noah Walker, Teesa Martin, John Morgan, Sean Carter, Christina Carter, Prestin Martin, Dymond Martin, Alysha Martin, and Chelsie Martin; and one great-grandson, James Tyler Robbins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Kent-Forest Lawn Chapel with the Rev. Greg George officiating. Full military honors will follow on the grounds of Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Dino Martin, Noah Walker, Euel Oliver, Wayne Haney, Joey Martin and John Morgan. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are members of AmVets Post No. 47 and Fleet Reserve Branch 346.

RUBY LEE MESSICK
Ruby Lee "Betty" Messick, 75, of Lynn Haven, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Westville, Fla., she moved to Bay County in 1953. Ms. Messick was employed by Taco Villa and was Baptist by faith. She was also a former member of the Panther's Motorcycle Club. Ms. Messick is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. "Jake" Messick. She is survived by her daughter, Alice "Jeanie" Griffiths of Lynn Haven; three granddaughters: Michelle Messick Berger, Christina Ledsome and Shelia Marshall; one grandson; and 12 great-grandchildren: Tiffany and James Messick, Amy and Amber Berger, Jessica, Katrina, Brianna and Tyler Griffiths, Willie Simmons Jr., Amy, Dillon and Richard Bristow. Funeral services for Ms. Messick were conducted Thursday afternoon, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Wade officiating. Interment followed in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as active pallbearers: Carl Hand, Mike Priest, Doug Ledsome, Johnny Sullivan, George Hand and Gary Mallory. Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. James E. Corry, Dr. Azzam Adhal and Mr. Harold Haynes.

ROSENWALD STALLWORTH
Rosenwald Stallworth, age 78, of Tallahassee, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000. A native of Conecuh County, Ala., he had lived in Tallahassee since 1981. He was a retired civil service worker with Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City for 33 years. He was a Superintendent Emeritus of the Tallahassee East District and in the District Church of God in Christ Northwest Florida, Jurisdiction. Mr. Stallworth had many years of pastoral experiences which included the pastorship of churches in Apalachicola, Graceville and Gretna, Fla., and locally at Greater Blessing Church of God in Christ. Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m., in Greater Love Church of God in Christ in Tallahassee with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pensacola. The family received friends Friday at Greater Blessing Church. He is survived by his mother, Stella Miles Stallworth; sons, Joseph Franklin III of Tallahassee and John Rogers of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Anita Franklin of Tallahassee; brothers: Elder Otis Stallworth and Walter Stallworth of Port St. Joe, Elder Emmett Stallworth of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Eloise Moore of Brewton, Ala., Cleo Gilbert of Riverside, Calif., and Jeanette Davis of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

CAPT. CURTIS JUNIOR MITCHELL
Capt. Curtis Junior Mitchell, 60, of 3617 Vera Lane, Panama City, passed away Saturday at a local hospital. He was a native of DeFuniak Springs, and lived all his life in this area. He was a boat captain for 36 years and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was known as a good father, fisherman and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Carmen Hutchinson and husband Jimmy Ray of Panama City; his son, Curtis J. Mitchell and wife Cara of Gainesville; grandchildren, Taylor Hutchinson, "Booger" Hutchinson, and Carmen Joyce Hutchinson; his former wife and dear friend, Dianna Mitchell of Starks, La.; his brother, James "Blackie" Mitchell of Panama City; his mother, Margie Hathaway of Panama City; and five other grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday from graveside at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. John Sword officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Oct. 29, 2000, from 6 until 8 p.m. The family will stay at the home of Carmen Hutchinson, 3637 Ormond Ave., Panama City, 785-1753.

Mrs. Dorothy V. Gore, 75, of 4128 Cherry Lane, Panama City, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She was a native of Greensboro, N.C., and had lived in Panama City since 1966, moving here from Newburgh, New York. She was a military wife who lived all around the country with her husband and family. Mrs. Gore enjoyed crafts, and was of the Baptist Faith. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin E. Gore, Sr. Survivors include one son, Alvin E. Gore, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Warsaw, Ind.; two daughters, Linda A. Gilbert and husband Ernie of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Nancy J. Alexander and husband Al of Panama City; her grandchildren, Michael D. Gore of Newport Beach, Calif., Jennifer Whitaker of Tallahassee, John C. Gore and wife Stacie of Panama City, Joseph Alexander of Panama City, Brian Stiffler of Birmingham, Ala., Eric S. Stiffler of Panama City, and Amanda L. Gilbert of Pinebluff, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2000, from graveside at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Burial will follow. HUEY BRADY 'JIM' HELMS
Mr. Huey Brady "Jim" Helms, 91 of 1004 Amherst Rd., Panama City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at a local convalescent center. He was a native of Slocomb, Ala., and had lived in Panama City since 1948. He worked as a civilian police officer at the Navy Mine Defense Lab and was a member of the St. Andrews Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Helms of Panama City; one daughter, Mary Anne Helms of Tallahassee; one son, James V. Helms of Tallahassee; one sister, Mary Ballard of Boise, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Chapel with the Rev. Ron Gallagher officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Garden of Memory Cemetery, Highway 431 North, Dothan, Ala. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, from 6 until 8 p.m.

IRMA C. MCQUAGGE
Irma C. McQuagge, 86, of Lynn Haven, died Friday, October 27, 2000, in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1939 moving here from Milledge, Ga. She was a retired lunch room attendant for the Bay County Schools. Mrs. McQuagge is survived by four sons, Dewey McQuagge and his wife, Diana of Deerpoint Lake, Joe McQuagge and his wife, Maris of Panama City, Bob McQuagge and his wife, Geri of Fort Meyers, James McQuagge and his wife Kathy of Lynn Haven; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held today, Oct. 29, 2000, at 3 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Andy McQuagge officiating.

EUGENE GEORGE 'GENE' RENWICK
Mr. Eugene George "Gene" Renwick, 83, of Parker, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at a local nursing facility. He had been a resident of the area since 1965, coming here from Oregon where he was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Renwick served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era. Mr. Renwick was a member of the Parkway Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, Masonic Blue Lodge Consistory, a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Association of Retired People. In his retirement Mr. Renwick enjoyed playing golf and reading. Mr. Renwick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace Renwick of Panama City; a sister, Thelma Toczek of Buffalo, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends: Joy Pattersen, Eunice Hudspeth, and Kitty Siracuse. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Stacy Wells and the Rev. Reid Cameron officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, P.O. Box 1530, Lynn Haven, Fla., 32444.
