Leonard Alvin Coile Jr., 64, of Grand Ridge, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 in Sneads.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel in Marianna. Private burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Allen H. Moss, 87, of Alford died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in Jackson Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

James Irving "Buddy" Pelham Jr., 72, of Sneads, died Sunday Oct. 9, 2005 at his residence.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

Alma Estelle Hall, 88, of Marianna died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in Jackson Hospital.

She was a member of Cypress Grove Assembly of God and retired from Florida State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Buford Hall after 58 years of marriage.

Survivors include one daughter, Billie Faye Durden Rogers and husband Curtis of Marianna; four sons, Leon Hall and wife Barbara of Mossey Pond area in Calhoun County; Wendell Hall of Cypress; Donnie Hall and wife Pat of Marianna, and Obie Hall and wife Gwen of Sneads; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Maddox Chapel with Revs. Jack Howell, Ray Johnson and Harry Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Maddox Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Marianna, Fla. 32447.

Edward L. Garver, 86, of Grand Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at his residence.

He had lived here since 1994, after moving from Bullhead, Ariz. He enjoyed playing pool, also building and fixing things.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Pauline Garver of Grand Ridge; two sons, Ervin Garver of Grand Ridge and Larry Garver and wife Sandy of Grand Ridge; a daughter, Judy Wilson and husband Ray of Crawfordville; one brother, Ora Garver of Oregon; two sisters, Mary Christner of Texas and Gertie Hochstetler of Indiana; four grandchildren, Jeremy Garver and wife Melissa, Justin Garver and wife Julie, Morgan Wilson and Erica Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Caitland, Gabriel, Kaitlyn and Hunter.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Mr. Garver's grandson Justin Garver officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Covenant Hospice.

Lois Durden, 84, of Grand Ridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at her residence.

She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was Pentecostal by faith. She retired from Florida State Hospital with 30 years of service as a psychiatric aide. She enjoyed socializing and going out to eat. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Durden; and grandson Greg Durden.

Survivors include two sons, Barney Durden of Grand Ridge and Elmer Gene Durden and wife JoAnn of Grand Ridge; one daughter, Janet Barfield and husband Douglas of Grand Ridge; one sister, Esther Durden of Grand Ridge; seven grandchildren, Bruce Durden, Danny Durden, Beverly Burch, Douglas Durden, Deborah Dilmore, Gary Durden and Jana Barfield; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with pastors Jim Gosnell and Scott Gosnell officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 13, from 6-8 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Allen H. Moss, 87, of Compass Lake died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in Jackson Hospital.

He was a native of Chicago, Ill., and a veteran of WWll.

Survivors include his wife Mary Moss of Compass Lake; four daughters, Pamela G. Moss of Marianna, Susan Jo Ewald and husband Gerry of Roswell, Ga., Beverly Schneider of Dothan, Ala., and Mary Roberto of Elk Grove, Ill.; one brother, Russell Moss of California; grandchildren, Geoff Macdonald and wife Elizabeth, Mark Macdonald, Keith Schneider, Daniel Roberto, Kathy Roberto, Joe Roberto; great-granddaughter Lauren Macdonald; and nephew Terry Schaede.

Services will be held at 11a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Columba Catholic Church, 2700 W. Main Street, in Dothan. No visitation is planned. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna is directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Allen Moss to Ochsner Clinic Foundation (OCF), Kidney Transplantation Fund, Philanthropy Dept. 1514 Jefferson Hwy., New Orleans, La., 70121.

Fred Quinton Beasley, age 78, of Gordon, Ala., passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

He was born in Montgomery, Ala., Oct. 2, 1926 to the late Albert H. and Amanda Payne Beasley. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Gordon, Ala., and was a farmer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eula Jordan Beasley of Gordon; two sons, Wayne Beasley of Marianna and Clint Beasley of Gordon; three grandchildren, Fred Wayne Beasley Jr., Scarlett Beasley and Savannah Beasley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Horace, J.C., Amos, Frank, Albert, Reynolds and Howard Beasley; and one sister, Alice Moore.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, at 11a.m.(EST) in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Bros. Owens and Whiddon officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordon. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.(EST) at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga.

Katherine S. Haynes, 78, formerly of Marianna, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee.

She was born in Ooltewah, Tenn., and had lived in Panama City and Titusville prior to becoming a longtime resident of Marianna. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had worked at Tyndall Air Force Base as a supply clerk in Panama City and for the U.S. Post Office in Titusville prior to moving to Marianna upon her husband's retirement from NASA.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Judy Haynes of Tallahassee; son James "Jim" Haynes and wife Linda of Clemmons, N.C.; two granddaughters, Rebecca Katherine and Erin Elizabeth of Clemmons; one brother, Douglas Scoggins of Schaumburg, Ill.; her niece, Nancy Aykroid of Schaumburg; and her aunt Viola Ruth of Chattanooga, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her loving husband James "Frank" Haynes.

Services will be held in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. with pastor Roland Rabon officiating. Following the service there will be a private entombment for the family only at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association or to your favorite church or charity.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Irving "Buddy" Pelham Jr., 72, of Sneads, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005 at his residence.

He attended Marianna High School and Southern College in Collegedale, Tenn., and The University of Florida in Gainesville. He was a brick and stone mason for over 50 years. He was an avid sports fan which motivated him to share his love of sports with many Jackson County youths in the more than 10 years he dedicated to coaching baseball and football. His main goals were to teach sportsmanship and develop sound ethics to guide them throughout life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Irving Pelham Sr. and Valestine Skinner Pelham; two brothers, Ronald and Charles Pelham; one sister, Willa Dean Pelham; and one son, Kenneth Powell.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Pelham; one daughter, Denise Rzycki and husband Greg of El Paso, Texas; two sons, James I. "Jay" Pelham III and wife Melanie of Huntsville, Ala., and Richard Powell and wife Jennifer of Sneads; eight grandchildren; Josh, Tara and Blake Hardin of El Paso, Texas, David Whitfield, Jake and Maggie Powell of Marianna and Bryan Powell of Sneads; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Elwynn Pelham of Malone; Wayne Pelham of Macon, Ga., and Gene Pelham of New Market, Tenn.; special friend and care giver Robert Hagan of Sneads.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, at Salem Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Sam Swinney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, Wednesday at Maddox Chapel.

The family welcomes any previous coaches or players to serve as honorary pall bearers. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice of Marianna.
