Graveside funeral services for Bernice Loyce Dykes, 79 of 1606 Lake Ave. Panama City, who went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Active pallbearers are: Jason Lee, James B. Keen, Billy George Calhoun, Steve Keen, William Strickland and Jack Davis. FRED T. HAYES
Fred T. Hayes, age 69, died Jan 7, 2000, in Dunlap, Tenn. Fred lived in Panama City for many years until moving to Dayton, Tenn. in 1993, where he lived until moving to Dunlap in 1997. Fred attended Parkway Baptist Church in Panama City, Corvin Road Baptist Church in Dayton and East Valley Baptist Church in Dunlap. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a professional cook by trade. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine "Josie" Willoughby Hayes. He is survived by his five sons: Jeffrey Hayes of Morongo Valley, Calif., Monty Hayes and Jimmy Hayes both of Crystal Lake, Fla.; Brent Hayes of Algonquin, Ill., and Clark Hayes of Panama City. Fred is also survived by two stepsons, William Brown and Jay Brown both of Panama City; seven grandchildren and three sisters, Jane Smith of Jamestown, Tenn.; and Virgie Delk and Lydia Allred both of Nashville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Mike Crain, the Rev. Leon Bowman, the Rev. Ken Fugate and Mr. Don Mingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens, Dayton.

HARLAN REDDICK
Mr. Harlan Reddick, age 46, of Bristol, Fla., died Monday night Jan. 8, 2001, at Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown. Harlen was born in Blountstown and had lived in Bristol for most of his life. He was a mechanic by trade and a member of the Holiness faith. Harlan was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Reddick. Survivors include mother and father, Rufus and Katie Reddick of Bristol; one son, Scottie Paul Reddick of Scotts Ferry, Fla.; one daughter, April Sunshine Stone of Abe Springs Community in Blountstown; two brothers, Willard and Howard Reddick of Bristol; one sister, Teresa Schulstadt of Panama City Beach; three grandchildren; and a special friend, Shirley Butler of Bristol. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. EST from the Peavy Funeral Home with the Rev. David Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol. The family will receive friends tonight, Jan. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at Peavy Funeral Home.

MURRY NEAL REED
Mr. Murry Neal Reed, age 72, of Lynn Haven, Fla., lost his battle to cancer Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2001, at a local hospital and went home to be with the Lord. He has been a resident of the area since 1963 and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Reed was born in Breckenridge, Texas. He entered the U. S. Army Air-Corps on July 3, 1946 and was honorably discharged on July 2, 1949. Mr. Reed went through basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas and radio school at Scottsfield AFB, Ill., and then was stationed at Tyndall AFB. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Andrews Reed of Lynn Haven; a daughter, Tracy Swedberg of Panama City; sons, Dusty Reed of Lynn Haven and Travis Reed and his wife Lorie of Pensacola; a sister-in-law, Maxine Reed of Kermit, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Reed and a brother, John H. Reed. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Albert Carpenter, Rufus Newsome, Tim Land, Ed Land, Dan Swedberg, Buddy Courtney, and Ray Courtney. Honorary pallbearers will include the employees of Hanna Truck Lines. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, Jan. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

DOROTHY LYNETTE WEST
Mrs. Dorothy Lynette West, age 82, of 7838 Arbor Lane, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She has been a resident of the area for 58 years, coming here from Ponce De Leon, Fla. Mrs. West was a member of Westview Baptist Church. She enjoyed Chinese checkers, rummy, cooking, had a green thumb, and was an excellent fisherman. Mrs. West is survived by a daughter, Judy Graves and her husband Stephen of Parker; a son, Donald B. West and his wife Rose of Bayou George; five grandchildren: Matthew West and Donny West, both of Bayou George, Donna Seyferth and Lorri Hutchcraft, both of Rockledge, Fla., and Bruce Skidmore of Parker; three great-grandchildren: Robert Skidmore of Pensacola, Bradley Hutchcraft and Olivia Seyferth, both of Rockledge; and one sister, Winifred Smith of Marianna, Mrs. West was also survived by the entire staff of Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. West. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at Ponce De Leon Cemetery in Ponce De Leon, Fla., with the Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Foundation.

Mr. Julius Turner Clines, 79, of 1510 Fountain Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in a local hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Clines will be held Thursday, Jan. 11, at noon in the Brown's Temple First Church with Bishop Randy Williams officiating. Interment to follow in Lynn Haven Community Cemetery. The remains will lie in state on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. ELEANOR GRACE PEEL MALLOY
Eleanor Grace Peel Malloy, 76, of 2908 State Ave., Panama City, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. She was born in Washington County on March 31, 1923. Grace was a native of Panama City. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Age Sunday School Class. She is survived by one son; W.J. Malloy Jr. (Jimmy) and his wife Marilyn; her grandchildren, W.J. Malloy III (Jimbo) and April Malloy Sheffield all of Panama City. She is also survived by a grandson, Joey Register of Chipley; her great-granddaughters, Kaci Sheffield of Panama City and Bethen Register of Chipley; a sister, Mary Virginia Peel and husband Coy of Crystal Lake; a brother, Joe Peel of Tampa and wife Sally; a sister, Doris Greene of Ocala; a sister, Peggy Williams and husband Dave of Crawfordville; and brother, Donnie Peel of Gainesville, Ga. Grace was preceded in death by her parents W.B. and Ethel Peel; her husband W.J. Malloy Sr.; a daughter, Shirral Jean Register; and grandson Timothy Register. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore and the Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Shilow Baptist Church Cemetery, Chipley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be at the home of Jimmy Malloy, 7115 Bay Crest Road in Southport. Mr. James Ford Martin, age 71, of 17643 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at his residence. He had been a resident of the area for 12 years, coming here from Riverdale, Ga., and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Martin served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW of Georgia. He is survived by a special friend, Martha Cleveland of Sylvester, Ga.; a brother, Ray Martin and his wife Kay of Orange Beach, Ala.; two grandchildren, Jamey Martin and Jeremy Martin, both of Jonesboro, Ga.; two nephews, Kenny Martin of Atlanta and Kevin Martin of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a daughter-in-law, Denise Martin of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years:, Pat Martin and a son, Jimmy Martin. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at East Lawn Cemetery in McDonough, Ga. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Pope Dickson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ga., Friday, Jan. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m.

BETTY THOMAS BELLAMY
Mrs. Betty Thomas Bellamy, 48, of 1805 East 9th St. died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. Betty was born in Panama City on June 26, 1952, to Felix and Leola Williams. She was a member of our Lady of Grace Catholic Church early in her life and later became a follower of the Pentecostal religion. She leaves to mourn her passing a beloved husband, Thredwell Bellamy; two sons, Carlos (Shang) Thomas and Kevin Thomas all of Panama City; seven grandchildren: Alexis, Megan, Rashita, Tiara, Tamara, Sentira, Keira. Also her parents Felix and Leola Williams (who preceded her). Four brothers: Charlie Williams, Alvin (Fran) Williams, Henry Lee Williams, and Felix Williams Jr. (who preceded her); two sisters, Elouise Hunter Porter (who preceded her), and Patty Patterson of Panama City. Also a mother-in-law, Betty Bellamy of Panama City; two sister-in-laws, Annette (Henry) Bradford of Panama City and Diane Bellamy of Miami; three brother-in-laws: Earl (Annie) Bellamy of Dallas, Texas, Rickey Bellamy of Panama City, and John Porter of Panama City. A number of nieces and nephews including: Evonne, Joan (Carlos), Pam (Lewis), Charlotte, Kenyatta, Kaleena, Esther, Pangy, Angel, Johnny Jr., Trey, Jaylon, Julian, Marquita, Lakishia, Onanda, Perish, Shawn, Colleen, Roslyn, Tasha, Carlos, Jessie and Michael. Special friends, Claudia Mae Nance, Doris Barker, and Julia Mae Williams. A special aunt Beatrice Nelson and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Bellamy will be held Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. in Neal Temple First Born Church, Bishop S.J. Williams, Pastor, with Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr., officiating and Bishop Lonnie Mitcell, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Redwood Cemetery. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home at 1 p.m. A family hour will be held this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. in Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Mr. and Mr. Carlos and Shang Thomas of 1409 East 6th Court.

EVA E. BROWN
Mrs. Eva E. Brown, 92, of Oak Grove, passed away Thursday, Jan.11, 2001, in Port St. Joe. A native of Bruce, she had been a resident here for over 55 years. She was of the Church of God Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Edward Brown and her son, James Gordon Brown. She is survived by her son, Robert Brown and wife Fran of Panama City; one daughter, Betty Bailey and husband Dink of Port St. Joe; and one daughter-in-law, Katie Brown; seven grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; 16 great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held graveside, Saturday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. ET in Holly Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dave Nichols officiating. Interment will follow. She will lie in state at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET Saturday, Jan. 13. The family will be receiving friends at the home of her granddaughter, Debbie Williams and husband, Richard, 678 Jones Homestead Rd., Jones Homestead.

JIMMY DUFFIE SR.
Mr. Jimmy Duffie Sr., 62, of 824 East 10th St. died Monday, Jan. 8, 2000, at his home. The late Jimmy Duffie Sr. was born Feb. 13, 1938, to the late Acie Allen and the late Liza Ann Duffie in Salem, Ala. Mr. Duffie moved to Panama City in the early sixties after serving eight years in the armed forces. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He met and married Louise Wilson on Nov. 26, 1977. He joined the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in 1999, and was a faithful member until his demise. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Louise Duffie of Panama City; one son, Jimmy Duffie Jr. of Kentucky; three daughters: Marietta Comer of Columbus, Ga., Shonnon White of Kentucky and Rhonda Duffie of Panama City; two step-daughters, Valerie Nickson of Port St. Joe, Gwendolyn (Phil) Brown of Panama City; raised one granddaughter, Stacy (Toriano) Peterson; one brother, Josh (Sarah) Duffie of Crawford, Ala.; three sisters: Donita Hughley of Smith, Ala., Dorothy (Alfonza) Jones of Columbus, Ga. and Lillie Williams of Panama City. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. One sweet sister-in-law, Julia Mae Roulhac of Panama City; devoted friends: Dewey Cromartie, Susie Allen and Mattie Small of of Panama City and a myriad of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Duffie will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2:30 p.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Patterson, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Louise Duffie, 824 East 10th St.
