MILDRED 'MILLIE' HINSON DAY LECLERE
Ms. Mildred "Millie" Hinson Day Leclere, age 67, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at her home. She was born at the original Hinson Homestead in Botheration Bayou in Panama City Beach and has been a life-long resident of the area. Mrs. Leclere was a cosmetologist who had owned her own beauty salon. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Day Thomas and her husband Michael of Columbus, Ind.; a son, Derrell Day and his wife Lisa of Panama City; her grandchildren: Eric Martin, Tom Valentine Jr. , and Tara Thomas; and a sister, Evelyn Davis of Sandy Creek. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Pickerill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Tom Valentine Jr., Chad Craig, David Simms, Neal Simms, Jimmy Brummett, and George M. Edwards. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, Jan. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.

JOHN RUSSELL PAM, JR
Memorial Service for Mr. John Russell Pam, Jr, 72, of 611 E. 11th Court, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in a local hospital will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Gainer Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Bishop Dennis officiating. Mr. Pam was born on Sept. 12, 1928, to the late John Russell Pam Sr. and Annie Freeman in Bogalusa, La. He worked for many years with the City of Panama City Water Works Department. He leaves to cherish his memories a son, James Brown of Tallahassee; two daughters, Patricia Stevens of Panama City and Carol Daniels of Oakland, Calif.; stepson, Reginald Tubbs of Panama City; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friends, Valerie Tubbs and James Porter and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will be receiving friends at 1025 Everitt Ave, Apt-4 (Garden Dickinson Apartments) after the service.

CLARA PIPPIN
Clara Pippin, 85, of Panama City, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County for 55 years. She was retired from the State of Florida Division of Forestry. Mrs. Pippin was preceded in death by her husband, William Riley Pippin; son, William Darrell Pippin and grandson, Kenny Pippin. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by three sons: Jerry Pippin and his wife Patricia of Cantonment; Aubrey Pippin and his wife Jeanette, and Billy Pippin and his wife, Ann all of Panama City; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Gose officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Hills Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

ELEANOR GRACE PEEL MALLOY
Funeral services for Eleanor Grace Peel Malloy, 76, of 2908 State Ave., Panama City, who died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Bay Medical Center will be held today at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore and the Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Chipley, Fla. Active pallbearers are: Red Brown, Jack Jackson, Cory Sheffield, Jerry Street, Travis Whitman and Lonnie Roper. The family will be at the home of Jimmy Malloy 7115 Bay Crest Rd. in Southport. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Eleanor Malloy.

STALFORD FONZA REGISTER
Stalford Fonza Register, 59, of Vernon, Fla., passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001. He had resided in Vernon since 1958, coming from Cottondale, Fla. He was Protestant by faith, and a member of the Vernon Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be today, Jan. 12, at 2:30 p.m. in Vernon Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Wesley Hall and the Rev. Roy Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Sapp Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing. Survivors are his wife, Earlene Register of Vernon; two daughters, Janice and husband Vic George of Bonifay, Marsha and husband Barry Cooper of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Olin Randolph Register of Tallahassee; one sister, Elouise Davis of Cottondale; and four grandchildren: Carmen, Kaitlyn, Sarah Anna and Lucas George.

Mrs. Betty Thomas Bellamy, 48, of 1805 East 9th Street, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Bellamy will be held today, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in Neal Temple First Born Church, Bishop S.J. Williams, Pastor, with Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr., officiating and Bishop Lonnie Mitcell, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Redwood Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Mr. and Mr. Carlos and Shang Thomas of 1409 East 6th Court.

THOMAS BONTON
Thomas Bonton, Master Chief, Retired, USN, age 54, of 3907 Torino Way, Panama City, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at his home. He had been a resident of the area for 15 years, coming here from Martinsville, Va. Master Chief Bonton was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and St. John's Men's Club. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bonton of Panama City; a son, Jason Bonton of Panama City ; a daughter, Leigh Bonton of Panama City; Elizabeth Ashley of Port St. Joe, who he loved like a daughter; a sister, Rebecca Guilliams of Henry, Va.; a step-mother, Gloria Bonton of Martinsville, Va.; a step-sister, Patsy Minter of Martinsville, Va.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Sunday, Jan. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Emerald Coast, P.O. RICHARD M. PARKER
Richard M. Parker died Jan. 11, 2001, in Panama City, Fla. He was born June 21, 1924, in Woodcliff, Ga. He was retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after twenty years of service. A longtime resident of Rogers and Bentonville, Ark., he worked many years in Rogers, Fayetteville, and Panama City, Fla. in the Neighborhood Youth Corps and the Office of Economic Opportunity. He was married to Mary Alice Parker, who preceded him in death in 1992. He leaves behind four children: Bonnie Yocum of Bella Vista, Ark.; Paula Rakes of Centerton, Ark.; Georgia Compton of Rogers, Ark.; and Dale Parker of Panama City. He had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a mason and enjoyed fishing and Arkansas Razorback sports. People knew Richard as an outgoing, friendly person who never met a stranger. He loved animals and was a frequent contributor to the Humane Society. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local humane society or animal shelter.

DARBIE L. SANDERS
Mr. Darbie L. (Uncle Dan) Sanders, 88, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Jan. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. Born and raised in Orangeburg County, S.C., he joined the Marine Corp in 1931 and served in China after which he received an honorable discharge as a result of a service connected disability. He was a past Commandant with the Marine Corp League, Panama City Detachment, past Vice-Commandant of Northwest Florida District and a life member of D.A.F. Post 106, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2185, Lynn Haven Lions Club, and the Silver Sands Coin Club. He is survived by his wife, Daisy Attaway Sanders of Lynn Haven; sister and brother-in-law, Nellie Claire and Dr. Alton Brown of Summerville, S.C.; brother-in-law, Clifton Attaway of Padre Island, Texas; nephews and nieces: William L. Sanders of Lexington, S.C., Beverly Anne Stricklin of Columbia, S.C., Terry Butler of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Dr. Alton G. Brown Jr. of Charleston, S.C., William D. Brown of Charlotte, N.C., and Janice Martin of Columbia, S.C.; and devoted friends, Mitch and Theresa Flanagan of Lynn Haven. Memorialization will be by cremation with a private memorial service at a later date.

ROSE MAE WALKER
Mrs. Rose Mae Walker, age 61, of Fountain, died Thursday at her home. Mrs. Walker was born in Bear Lake, Mich., and had lived in Fountain for the past 16 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Leatherman; two brothers, Jack and Henry Leatherman; one sister, Ellen Nash. Survivors include her husband, Elmer Walker of Fountain; three sons: Richard Walker of Panama City, Russell and Karen Walker of Panama City, Allan Walker of Fountain; two daughters, Gail and David Otte of Fountain, Hazel and Tim Gregory of Jacksonville; three brothers: Henry, and Paul Letherman both of Bear Lake, Mich., Louie and Conne Letherman of Ludington, Mich.; five sisters: Pat and Roy Frase of California, Helen Frase of Ludington, Mich., Sally Cole of Bear Lake, Mich., Berma and Tim Gowen of Scottville, Mich., Mary Loviska of Houghton Lake, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. No services are planned. Memorialization by cremation.
